My wife normally would not like eating Mexican food, but when traveling I-40 in Arkansas, lunch options in small towns can be pretty limiting. Among the McDonalds, Taco Bells, and Subways, we opted to stop here. We are both so glad we did and we both cleaned our plates. The food was hot and delicious. And the service was attentive and friendly. We both ordered quesadillas -- steak for me and chicken for her. The salsa was pretty good as was the chips albeit a little on the stale side, but not too bad. The decor inside the restaurant was very typical of other Mexican grills -- bright, Mexican decor with music playing over the speakers. However, the music was not loud and you could have a conversation with others without having to yell. We will be traveling through this area again in a few weeks and will definitely stop again for lunch or dinner. read more

First off, the place is a modest sized unit in a shopping strip, but the decor (namely the custom tables and chairs artwork) is beautiful in here! So sunny and colorful and festive! This restaurant directly off I-10 in Lonoke about 30 mins East of Little Rock AR is highly recommended to stop and have a great meal. The inside is decorated to make you feel as though you're at a Mexican Fiesta. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. For us a great place to stop our travels for the day with a great meal and accommodations directly across the street. Here's the best part... The food was awesome!!!! Everything from the beans to rice. I will say when I first saw my Chili Colorado, I thought " who puts ground beef in Chile Colorado? " It was beef just stewed perfectly. The Colorado sauce was delicious and so flavorful. The Quesadilla had cheese oozing out of it and the birria tacos were amazing. The topper was the salsa, It had such amazing flavor I could have drank it. We will definitely plan our next trip around stopping here again. read more

Not knock your socks off Mexican food, but very serviceable and affordable as well. We both ordered the combo platter ($10 for two items plus rice and beans). Nothing was overly spicy, but it wasn't bland or without flavor. I personally liked my beef enchilada better than the cheese enchilada. The rice was nice and fluffy, just the way I like it. The salsa isn't a chunky style and definitely should be classified as "mild." For those staying in the Best Western or Holiday Inn, this is easily walkable and is a nice restaurant option to the many fast food places in the area. It's also open later on a Sunday, making it one of the only restaurant options available after 3pm. read more

It is very very authentic, I had the quesabirria with a side of consume and queso. THEY HAD EVERY DISH you could want. I have never seen such an expansive selection. EVEN CEVIECHE !!!! The guy seating us continued to visit with his friend as we stood waiting for a table. He could care less. Then our waiter (using the term loosely) took our order. It was delivered quickly and tasted OK. The waiter NEVER returned except to deliver the check. There was no price listed on the margaritas. But we took a chance. It was a bland drink and was $ 9.95!!!!!!!!!!! We were mad we had chosen to have one. Maybe $6-7 dollars. But not $10!!!!!! For the two of us to eat a basic Mexican dinner, no fajitas, with 2 drinks, was 60 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!! Don't waste your time and money. I'm stuck here on business, and I typically stay in this little town outside of Little Rock. I'm down here all the time, but I've never actually checked out this restaurant next to the hotel. It's decent. The place is very clean and the service was also very good. My only complaint would be I ask for the skirt steak on the fajita to be prepared rare and as usual at a Mexican restaurant, it came out well done. I would definitely go back there again I just would not get anything with the skirt steak. read more

I thought it was spices or something so I racked it out of the bowl as my waiter was walking by to take my order for food and he called his manager without even looking at it. The manager said that the finger nail didn't come from this restaurant and I told her to look at the cameras in this restaurant because I swear to God I got a finger nail out of my salsa. The manager offered me a replacement salsa with cheese sauce that I had just dumped in the salsa but I say no I don't want anything else and still had to pay $8.00 for salsa with cheese sauce in it with a finger nail from some one that works there. The Holiday Inn Express is a 5 star hotel as well, located right behind. The owner and servers are awesome, fun, and helpful. I ordered to go and waited approx 5 min, fabulous. The chimi beans rice dinner is excellent and is up there with Mexican restaurants in Vegas, AZ, and DC. Huge portions, chicken is cooked to perfection, spices awesome, chips homemade. I do not understand how this place has 4.5 stars. The service wasn't good. The server for one, was in a bad mood and everything he would bring was just tossed onto the table. We ordered Pollo Asado and the chicken is fillet-like. In other words, very thin. If you ask for Chile toreado, they are going to give you chiles en vinagre. Used Yelp to find my dinner and it didn't steer me wrong! Good reviews equal good food!!! The food was advertised as Tex-Mex and Tex-Mex it was. I ordered a corndog and fries for Nani (our four-legged child) and a Hawaiian Fajita Platter for myself. Per the menu this specific fajita dish is the chefs favorite and I can certainly understand why. It was absolutely delicious. A huge pile of shrimp, beef, chicken, pineapple chunks, with lots of grilled onion and some peppers. It was accompanied by refried beans, Mexican rice, some guacamole, some chips, some salsa, some sour cream, and flour tortillas. My meal for one could've very easily been a meal for two. I ate my first portion wrapped in a flour tortilla, added some of the sour cream and salsa and guacamole. Yummy yummy yummy! The thing is that the fajitas themselves were so delicious I decided I was not going to eat any more of it in the tortillas, but just on its own with the guacamole and refried beans. I still only managed to eat half of the fajita platter. They did have seating inside but I was not ready for that since we are traveling, coming from Texas which has a high Covid statistics right now-Didn't really know much about the area we were doing an overnight stay in so did takeout instead. Interesting that the food was piping hot so the short travel from the restaurant to the hotel didn't harm it a bit. The customer service was great, I did have some trouble communicating my order via the phone. I think it's possible that the person who took my order was primarily Spanish-speaking and unfortunately I am not bilingual. I also believe I was overcharged or there was some kind of a service charge for pick up which would be something completely foreign to me. Unfortunately, I did not keep the receipt even though I thought the total sounded very high. I ordered from the online menu that had prices on it. That is the only reason for the four star rating. From a food perspective I feel it's very much a five-star experience. I definitely would return, I hope when we do Covid 19 is no longer an issue. I would like to try one of their margaritas! Do try the Hawaiian Fajitas, it's a great experience and a wonderful combination of food! read more

We were just passing through and looking for dinner when we found this place. Being Mexican we did not expect to find such good food and drinks in the middle of Nowhere, AK. The rice, beans, chile relleno, molcajete and salsas we're on point as was the Margarita and Michelada. It's so hard to find a good michelada and this place has the recipe down! Pretty much everything here is good. The Ceviche and their live guacamole is very good as well as the Pepe's Special. Pepe's special has bacon in it and in my opinion bacon makes most everything better!
