Omg I'm not even finished with my food I had to stop and write a review. How have I gone this long without trying this place?! I ordered the wings, which come with a chipotle ranch and small cup of consommé. The wings were crispy, flavorful, and didn't require sauce because they were so good on their own. However, the chipotle ranch was amazing. The consommé though!? WOW that stuff is so good I wish I ordered 2 more sides of it!!! They were out of the blue soda I ordered so they offered me a blue lemonade. I thought it was great! I'll have to try the soda another time. I'll definitely be back.

Birria tacos were extremely bland and lacked flavor. Tacos way too soggy. The rice was extremely too salty. The website needs enhancements. Why isn't there a better description of the wings advising of how many wings you get per order? Why are you advertising a coupon code for a free soda via email, yet, there's no section on your website to select a soda, added the code at checkout and didn't receive a free soda with my order. Why advise of your food truck address and location on both email and on your Instagram stories yet when we arrived in person, the food truck was not at the address provided via email and Instagram which was a waste of time and gas. Ended up having to back track and visit the Thrift Road location instead. I won't be patronizing again. Way too unorganized and food was horrible.

I've been hearing of chatter about Mariah's Taco Spot which is a food truck filled with taco goodness. Marriah's offers five varieties of tacos; chicken, beef, chipotle surf & turf, salmon and shrimp and for the chicken wing lover they offer chicken wings with your choice of two tacos and seasoned rice; be sure to get the baby oil to dip the wings in and to drizzle it on the tacos. Marriah's is not like your average food truck, if you miss her at her Freedom Drive stop you literally have to follow her on instagram to see where she'll be next. Besides having great fresh cookedfood Miles and the rest of the crew still take time with the customers, even with the lines wrapped around the corner you get service with a smile.

My son took us here while in Charlotte today. There was about a 20min wait to get to the ordering window. Of this food truck. I could see there were only 2 people working all the orders, and it was a beautiful day, so we didn't mind. Once we reached the window the guy asked if we could give them 5 min to help knock some of their orders down before taking ours, we said sure. (That was really like a tease because by this time I could smell the deliciousness and my stomach was growling! LOL!) Once my son ordered his food and I ordered ours, we were each given a pager to notify us when the food was ready. Most people were waiting in their cars. Once the food was ready (about 15min), the pager went off and we picked up the food at the second window. By that time the line had almost tripled in length! That's a great sign of their reputation because they weren't in a common area to find. (And there were a lot of food trucks out in Charlotte today). I gave hubby his two beef quesabirria style tacos and I had one with the consommé dip along with my southwest chicken taco. THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! They did forgot my onions and cilantro on my 1 beef taco, other than that it was scrumptious. The 4/5 stars is because they could not fulfill our original orders due to running out of chicken wings. My son and I were both going to order the wings and tacos (6 wings and 2 tacos); my son was also getting two orders of (8) wings. They could only fulfill 1 order of wings. That was disappointing. Maybe next time....

"Allegedly" a shrimp taco all I said was no onions and this is what it looked like

With all the hype, the Tacos weren't that great. The food truck came to my apartment complex. I ordered 2 Shrimp and one chicken taco. They were very salty and the broth was watered down. The presentation was awful. $23 including a juice for this nonsense. Highly disappointed and will never order from them again.

Her food is always good there is a little bit of wait but it's definitely worth it! This was my first time trying the wings and I was not disappointed at all. But the salmon tacos have been my favorite so far.

I visited Mariah's Taco Spot on 8/17/23 and was highly disappointed. Please note that this review has nothing to do with the food since I never got a chance to taste it. The review is solely based on the service experience. I placed my order around 5:30pm for 3 birria tacos. Placing the order was simple enough although I didn't like the fact that I couldn't see an estimated time of order completion prior to placing the order and submitting the payment. However I have ordered from Crav'n Caribbean on several occasions which is also located in City Kitch, and never had a bad experience so I had high expectations for this establishment as well. I was wrong! After placing the order I picked my two year old up from daycare and navigated over to Thrift Road in traffic. While in route I received a text message stating that my order would be ready for pickup at 5:40pm. This was great because my order would definitely be ready upon arrival after driving in traffic. I arrived at 6:09pm with my toddler in tow, scanned the QR code to alert Mariah's Tacos that I had arrived, and waited a few minutes for someone to appear at the pickup window. My kid is getting a little fussy, but again, I'm thinking that we'll be in and out in no time. After a few minutes someone arrives at the window and I give him my name. At this time he informs me know that my order isn't ready. I tell him that I received a text message that it was. He says that their working on my order. Now I'm pissed. While I understand that things happen, I should have received an updated text message with a new time. What's up with the text message system and overall communication? Had I known in advance I could have arrived prepared to wait. We could have been chilling in the car with his snacks and tablet while waiting or I could have brought those items in. I wasn't able to get a parking spot near the entrance so I already had to walk in the heat carrying him. And the thought of going back and forth to my car in the heat due to the lack of communication didn't sit well with me. Then telling me that you're working on it...what does that mean?!?! Are you bagging my order? Or am I in a queue waiting for my order to be prepared behind others? At this point my toddler is antsy and I'm just completely aggravated. I decided to leave because I didn't know exactly what time my order would be ready. Maybe they started preparing my order after I scanned the QR code to alert them of my arrival. If that's the case, then there should be a pop up on the website to state that prior to submitting payment. These are details that customers should be made aware of upfront. I expect better regardless of the fact that it's a ghost kitchen. One things for sure...I won't be back. And if you decide to try it for yourself, plan accordingly and be prepared to wait indefinitely.

His service was quick, professional, and welcoming, which really stood out and made us feel taken care of the whole time. It is rare to have a server who brings such a positive energy to the table, and Orhan definitely did that. I ordered the Burrito Basico with steak, and it was amazing. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, and the burrito itself was packed with fresh ingredients that all blended together so well. Every bite was full of flavor, and the portion size was more than worth it. Between the delicious food and Orhan's outstanding service, this was an excellent experience overall. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend asking for Orhan.

Tacos El Nevado came highly recommended, so I headed over for lunch with high hopes. The restaurant was packed when I arrived around 1:30 p.m., which is usually a good sign. It appears to be a converted fast-food building with its own parking lot, outdoor patio, and a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Despite the Charlotte heat pushing triple digits, the dining room was comfortable and bustling. Service was friendly from the start, and I was quickly seated with ice water, lemon, fresh chips, and three house-made salsas. The chips were excellent--fresh, crisp, and clearly made in-house. The standout salsa for me was the red salsa, which packed plenty of heat and flavor. There was also a tomatillo salsa and a creamy green avocado-style salsa. Both were good, although the tomatillo leaned a little too tart for my taste. The menu is extensive, with everything from seafood dishes and quesadillas to tacos and larger combination plates. As someone who loves sampling a little of everything, I was hoping for more traditional combo options, but this menu takes a different approach. I ordered the crispy taco plate with rice and beans. The presentation was attractive, with the tacos served upright in a metal rack alongside refried beans and Mexican rice. The rice and beans were both delicious and easily the highlight of the plate. Where things got mixed for me was the taco filling. I was expecting a straightforward seasoned ground beef taco, but the beef filling tasted more like a guisado-style preparation with a softer texture and a slightly tangy flavor profile. It may simply be a regional style or a misunderstanding when ordering, but it wasn't what I had anticipated. The chicken taco, however, was excellent. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with higher-quality chicken than you typically find in a crispy taco. After trying it, I immediately wished I had ordered all chicken. While this visit didn't completely win me over, I don't think it's fair to judge a restaurant by one dish. The packed dining room, friendly service, fresh chips, excellent salsas, and strong chicken taco all suggest there's more to explore here. Next time, I'd skip the crispy beef tacos and dive into the street tacos or some of the house specialties that seem to be what many regulars were ordering. Tacos El Nevado didn't become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Charlotte on this visit, but it earned a second chance. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Keep exploring. Sometimes the next great meal is just one menu item away.

We got two Burrito Fresas (one grilled chicken and one chicken tinga). The burritos had the COOLEST crunchy cheese coating on the tortilla that the hugs all of the ingredients inside the burrito. Both the grilled chicken and the chicken tinga were phenomenal. We truly could not decide who the "winner" was because they were both so flavorful. Now, to talk about the other fun part!!! SORBET MARGARITAS! I'm obsessed. I had initially seen Que Fresca on social media, specifically for the soft serve margs. And let me tell you - they did nit disappoint. They have two flavors - strawberry and lemon (and then you can do a swirl). They were SO refreshing and delightful!! It was such a fun way to ~eat~ a margarita! All of the staff were friendly and very quick. The restaurant is well laid out and I love that it had TVs to watch all the games. The idea is that place your order, pick a seat and your order is delivered to you. We picked our seats at the bar first because it was pretty packed for Friday night. We took our time to browse the menu but we knew we'd be getting the IG viral Sorbet flights we'd seen. Now on first attempt we got our food, it was completely cold. We informed one of the waiters and asked for our meals to be remade. So upon getting my food second time: 1 Birria Taco, 1 Chips and Queso and 1 Chicken Tinga, it was warm. The Birria taco was my favorite as the chicken didn't hold too much flavor for me. Now we ordered 2 Sorbet flights. We didn't get them as advertised.. no rim coating and the flavor offerings were duplicated. As we compared what we got from other patrons we saw what was missing and the flavor differences. Overall our meal and drinks were underwhelming and we let the staff and manager on hand know. She apologized for not making our Sorbets with rim coating and the food mishap. As guest of NC for the weekend, our host told us we'd gone to the wrong location.
