Korean corn dog with half cheese and half hotdog covered with hott cheetos

This is my first time here and I can only speak for the Korean corn dogs, but the picture is self-explanatory and it was pretty much demolished within minutes, but they were very fast and the location is also in a good area off of south end around the uptown area.

I saw that Cutting Board CLT Food truck were the first to have Korean Corn Dogs in the Queen City and also had Birria Ramen so I had to hit them up. During my visit I learned that they discontinued the Birria Ramen and were having an issue with the Shrimp and Grits so I just got the classic K dog (half cheese half hot dog). The K dog was cooked to order and was super cheesy. It actually was too cheesy for me. I ended up deconstructing it to get rid of some of the cheese. The outer shell of the corndog was crispy and coated in sweet sugar mix. I loved that part! I feel like this food truck has potential. I wish I could of sampled some other items they have on their menu but nothing else peaked my interest. I'll keep an eye on them and hope to visit them again soon. This place was on my radar for a couple of months because I thought there weren't Korean corn dogs in Charlotte and then Kenty corrected me! We went out to Pinhouse to try them. They're currently there Wednesday and Saturday I think, but check their Instagram for their weekly schedule. I think they've been really crowded on weekends since Axios posted about them, so go on a weekday if you don't want a line. We tried a variety of stuff: - K-Dog (with potatoes) - Taquitos (Beef) - Beef Birria Ramen - Birria Tacos (Beef) I loved everything! The order listed above is my preference, but I would happily order any of it again. I was skeptical about a place that does Korean and Mexican, but they do both well! I hope they expand their corn dog and sauce/topping selection to have a little more variety like the places I've been in NYC. Definitely check this spot out!

I watched Lizzo eat Korean corn dogs a few months ago. She made them look so yummy so I vowed to get one sooner rather than later. Welp, Cutting board is the place and you should get there now. I placed an online order around 4:30 to be ready at 5 when they opened. It was ready prior to the 5:10 promised time and I also ordered the chicken ramen. I raced home because I was so anxious to try everything. The first bite of the corn dog was amazing, and it didn't even have any hot dog in it. I thought I tasted actual hot dog and maybe it was a little hot dog juice?!?! I don't know but the cheese, and potato, and the surprise of the sugar!!!! OMG, that was a nice addition. I honestly didn't think the potato would have sugar, but it did and I wasn't mad. I tried it with queso and then mustard. I actually preferred it without anything, but if I had to choose, I like mustard with my hot dogs so...mustard it is. The ramen broth came in a separate container and all of the noodles, chicken and veggies were neatly packed separately. The broth was flavorful and I loved how the chicken was shredded so it was easy to eat with the noodles. I told myself that I wouldn't eat another corn dog for a while but...they are calling me! I want to try the other flavors!

The nicest people with the best food!!! Can not recommend them enough. Their shrimp tacos are some of my fave tacos in Charlotte. The K-dogs are phenomenal. The cheese K-dog add potatoes is my regular order and it's been great every time. Their birria ramen is also delicious. You can't go wrong with any of their menu items.

Yum yum yum!! The food here is amazing and the best Korean corn dogs in Charlotte for sure, I always hit this place up when they're near by. The service is straight to the point but also pretty quick which I appreciate! Definitely try this place if you see it on the street

The K-dog was cheesy goodness. That gooey cheese that you can stretch. And though my friend wasn't a fan of the sweet coating, I happened to enjoy the salty, sweet combination. However, the order did take a lot longer than expected for 3 corn dogs. It took over 30 mins for our order to come out. We ran out of beer while waiting at the Pinhouse but didn't want to leave the truck and miss our order. So we waited along with the other patrons.

It's perfect with or without potatoes! The Creme Brûlée was great, perfect texture and flavor, and an ever satisfying sugar crunch on top. Dislikes: The Elote in a Cup had a weird juice on the bottom, which had no flavor and kinda ruined 1/4 of it. I've definitely had better Birria Tacos in Charlotte, but these aren't bad, I'd stick to ordering K-Dogs here ;) Overall Rating: 4.1

Tried this food truck today and it did not disappoint!!! The line was long but worth every bit of standing in the cold. We go the k-dogs, ramen with chicken , and taquitos with beef. All 5 star worthy. Just had an issue with the time their instagram said 2-9 , got in line at 1:57 then they said we open in 45 mins............... other than that please try this awesome place and def try the K dog!!!!!

My mouth is literally watering while typing my review on how amazing the food was! I ordered a few different items on the menu that did not disappoint at all! My favorite is the birria ramen, birria tacos and let's not forget to mention the amazing Korean Corn Dog! I have been craving this place from the first visit and already went back the next day. If you are thinking about going just do it and order anything it will be great and worth the wait. Follow their Instagram to find their location daily.

I literally recommend everything you can order here. It's all cheesy, comforting, flavorful. Legit everything packs a punch. Hubby and I love the birria ramen, truly a delicious experience. The beef is tender, the noodles give the perfect cheese pull. The birria tacos are also a gooey moment. The top tier cheese pull goes to the half and half k dogs. Holy cow, you just have to see it to believe it. If you eat here and hate it, we can't be friends lol.

I LOVE Cutting Board their k dogs and chicken taquitoes are my personal favorite and a must order every single time. My boyfriend always gets the birria tacos and he absolutely loves them as well. they are usually parked by Pinhouse which offers are pretty good vibe when you're trying to eat. I just would recommend not eating upstairs cuz it's super windy haha. The employees are really nice and are pretty quick with the service so overall love this place and when people come to visit to Charlotte I always want to take them over here

Korean corn dog with flaming hot Cheeto
    Trace W.

I had this food truck on my radar for quite some time. We were very excited to try the Korean corn dogs. We also tried the barria tacos. This was my first time trying korean corn dogs. My partner has had them many times. We both agreed that they were decent, but just lacked any wow flavor. She said they're usually much better. We tried the half cheese, half beef dog with flaming hot Cheetos added to the breading. Though the corn dog was very red, we could not even taste the flaming hot Cheetos flavor. The inside was good, but the breading, which is kind of what makes a corn dog, was kind of flavorless. The barria tacos were the better of the two things, but they still weren't as good as several other places you can get them. However, it's a neat looking food truck, and they're very kind, with great customer service! I just have to be honest in my reviews, and we just weren't as excited after having tried the food.

I opted for a California burrito with asada, this hit the spot. Not only was the burrito well wrapped but it was very savory and filled to where it left me full. The place is a counter service restaurant with a bar as well so you can go and order your food first then order your beer/cocktails of choice. They also have a salsa bar but chips are extra. The restaurant is slightly noisy and can probably fill fast during peak hours. Overall I would come back, definitely highlight to my Charlotte trip!

The food was extremely mediocre in taste and portions. I ordered the two-taco combo plate that comes with two sides. I chose Mexican Rice & Refried Beans as my side and the tacos I chose were Birria. Let's start there. There is no option to order anything other but the same two tacos so for example, I wanted to order one chicken and one birria or one shrimp taco and one birria taco, that option was not available. Most places allow you to customize your taco orders. I arrived to pick up my food and noticed the bag was NOTICEABLY light...which is a stark contrast to when I order this same kind of meal from my regular go to taco spots. I get home and start taking the food out of the bag and the taco presentation was good. They looked good and had pretty much what you would expect to be on them. I then go to open the containers that had my sides and noticed that the containers barely had any sides in them. I'm talking about the containers were less than half full of the rice and beans...to where it looks like they only put a couple of spoonfuls in each container. Which explains why the bag was so light. The rice looked like the typical Mexican rice and smelled about the same. It tasted very average, nothing special. The refried beans however, had no texture to them and looked like someone just put all the beans into a blender and turned them into a thick paste of some sort. They were completely flavorless and also didn't have the layer of cheese on top on them that most authentic places put on there. The three tacos were also very flavorless. The meats had absolutely NO flavor to them which is crazy for a birria taco. They were full enough with meat, salsa, onions, etc. but the meat had very little seasoning. I also found two VERY hard and sharp pieces of BONE in one of my birria tacos. I have braces and thought one of my back brackets had come loose. Imagine my surprise when I spit everything out and saw a decent chuck of bone shard. I set i aside and took another bit of ended up with yet another piece, albeit smaller, of shard in my mouth. As someone who moved here from Los Angeles and prior to that lived in Texas, this place just doesn't cut it for tacos. Not even for a chain restaurant quality of tacos. It's just like so many of these trendy restaurants popping up all over Charlotte with mediocre food trying to make a quick buck before it's eventually shut down for whatever reason . I'll be sticking to my two go to places which are very authentic taco spots where I have NEVER been disappointed. They are little pricier, but quantity and quality are worth it at this point. I have attached pics and you can see the pathetic amount of rice and beans that they gave me in that entire container, smh. You can see it from the top view and the side view where you can see the shadow lines of how full the containers were. For comparison, the container was about the size of a medium Mac N Cheese from Chick-fil-A. Rice and beans are literally the CHEAPEST items to acquire and add to meals so being stingy with them is a really bad look.

Eventually we did get it and I was surprised how well I liked the refried black beans and their rice I opted for their Birria tacos and they were very flavorful and the consommé was delicious. My husband opted for the fish tacos and well he had to fish for the fish in the fish tacos. It was very little and that was very disappointing. I asked him if he would return and he said he would, but he would either not get the fish tacos because they don't have near enough fish to be called a fish taco or he would ask that they put an adequate amount of fish in the taco. The service was OK though it seemed most people did not speak English, which is fine. It just made it kind of harder to communicate. That said the food was decent but the reason why I gave two stars was because I feel very misled on pricing. The menu showed Que Siberia tacos three for $12. Steak/Asada tacos for three dollars which brings my total to 15+ the two drinks. I thought she said it was $20.80 so I paid it with my card and gave her five dollars cash for a tip. Tacos El Nevado came highly recommended, so I headed over for lunch with high hopes. The restaurant was packed when I arrived around 1:30 p.m., which is usually a good sign. It appears to be a converted fast-food building with its own parking lot, outdoor patio, and a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. Despite the Charlotte heat pushing triple digits, the dining room was comfortable and bustling. Service was friendly from the start, and I was quickly seated with ice water, lemon, fresh chips, and three house-made salsas. The chips were excellent--fresh, crisp, and clearly made in-house. The standout salsa for me was the red salsa, which packed plenty of heat and flavor. There was also a tomatillo salsa and a creamy green avocado-style salsa. Both were good, although the tomatillo leaned a little too tart for my taste. The menu is extensive, with everything from seafood dishes and quesadillas to tacos and larger combination plates. As someone who loves sampling a little of everything, I was hoping for more traditional combo options, but this menu takes a different approach. I ordered the crispy taco plate with rice and beans. The presentation was attractive, with the tacos served upright in a metal rack alongside refried beans and Mexican rice. The rice and beans were both delicious and easily the highlight of the plate. Where things got mixed for me was the taco filling. I was expecting a straightforward seasoned ground beef taco, but the beef filling tasted more like a guisado-style preparation with a softer texture and a slightly tangy flavor profile. It may simply be a regional style or a misunderstanding when ordering, but it wasn't what I had anticipated. The chicken taco, however, was excellent. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with higher-quality chicken than you typically find in a crispy taco. After trying it, I immediately wished I had ordered all chicken. While this visit didn't completely win me over, I don't think it's fair to judge a restaurant by one dish. The packed dining room, friendly service, fresh chips, excellent salsas, and strong chicken taco all suggest there's more to explore here. Next time, I'd skip the crispy beef tacos and dive into the street tacos or some of the house specialties that seem to be what many regulars were ordering. Tacos El Nevado didn't become my favorite Mexican restaurant in Charlotte on this visit, but it earned a second chance. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte. Keep exploring. Sometimes the next great meal is just one menu item away.
