a plate of sandwiches and french fries

I visited Maria's in December 2021 on a Monday at 11AM. The restaurant was uncrowded and they appeared to practice social distancing protocols. The restaurant was clean, but it does need some remodeling and renovations. Marias is next door to Dollar Tree in a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking in that area. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. We were seated right away, and the order way placed soon after. I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the Turkey Club Sandwich, which was made with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. The sandwich was a large serving and very tasty. It also came with a bowl of potato soup which was salty, but edible. The Waffle fries were great. This meal cost about 11 dollars. In previous reviews I read that Marias only accepted cash only. In December 2021, I used a debit card with no problem. I would return to this restaurant again because the food was good, the portions were big, and the prices were reasonable.

This place always hits the spot and never a wait to be seated. Each time I'm greeted with friendly and accommodating hospitality. My go to is the old spicy skillet with fresh jalapeños, sour cream, and salsa which comes with pancakes. The portions are huge! Bring your appetite and wear loose pants...lol

Unclean silverware. If possible, enlarge so you can see the caked on food on the spoon.

Yesterday, my husband and I decided to have breakfast at Maria's. It used to be our restaurant of choice for breakfast. We have not gone there in a while nor have we ordered online. Without going into all of the reasons why we do not frequent, yesterday solidified that we will NEVER go back there. We started off by ordering coffee. The packet of silverware was wrapped in a napkin. When I opened to stir my coffee, it had caked on food that looked disgusting!!!. We decided that we did not want anything from them so we left and went to Big Apple where we had a wonderful breakfast in a clean environment. I have attached the following picture so that potential customers can see that cleanliness is not on their menu.

A dear friend lives overseas and I live in Florida, so we don't have much chance to visit. She said that Maria's was recommeended to her, and we went right as they opened and stayed 3 hours I had the banana crepes, which were very wonderful but far to large a portion so my friend took some home. The menu has a very wide range of breakfast & lunch choices and our meals were a very good value. I definitely plan to eat there again when I go back to town in November. Highly recommend.

i enjoyed eating here, i did go when it was almost time for the close, the staff is okay, the waitress was nice, don't go near closing tho bc the owner will stare you down til he tells you it's time t go but overall the food was yummy and id definitely return

Mamma's skillet ( hash browns, bacon, sausage, & I added fresh jalapeño. It was delicious.

We had a party of 9 people in my party and all of our food came out promptly and hot. Haley was our waitress and I have to give her kuddos for providing such excellent service. I definitely recommend this place.

Food was so, delicious! I had crab and shrimp omelet. It was amazing, staff was pretty attentive for a time that was extremely busy.

Upon entry I was greeted immediately and both ladies were extremely nice. They have a few slot machines off to the side, which I didn't realize. Because it was takeout, I can't provide any feedback on the full dining in experience, but there's a lot of parking available outside. Very nice location. My jambalaya skillet was delicious. It comes with two decent sized pancakes. Between the two pancakes and the skillet, I was able to get three meals out of it. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The pancakes were cooked perfectly. I ordered the corned beef hash skillet, and it did not disappoint. I always appreciate when a restaurant makes their corned beef hash in-house--it makes a difference--and this one was full of flavor and served piping hot. It also came with a side of pancakes, which were some of the fluffiest I've ever had. One small touch I really appreciated was the variety of flavored coffee creamers available at the table. It's nice to have options beyond the usual half-and-half. A fun surprise: my food was delivered by a robot! I'd heard about this but had never experienced it in person--definitely a cool and memorable touch. Service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. If you're in or near Homewood and looking for a solid breakfast spot, this place is absolutely worth checking out. #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

They specialize in breakfast and lunch, including omelets, skillets, pancakes, waffles, crepes, sandwiches, wraps, and more. They have a large selection of breakfast items to choose from on their menu. We were greeted and seated promptly in the dining area. The restaurant had a diner vibe. This establishment has a bunch of routine customers which became apparent from the staff having friendly conversations with the patrons and referring to them politely by their name. I ordered a custom omelette with 3 ingredients, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes and I added feta cheese for an up charge. The omelette was prepared more like a scramble with the ingredients mixed in the eggs instead of being in the center like a traditional omelette. I feel like the omelette needed a sauce like fresh salsa or avocado. It came with hash browns and I added an English muffin. Someone in the party ordered the Denver scramble with ham, peppers, onions and American cheese. The feedback is that it had sliced cheese on top and would have preferred a shredded cheese to blend in with the dish. It was served with a side of pancakes that were cooked golden brown. The food portions were gigantic and could have probably been shared as we had leftovers. My only feedback is the cooking technique could be improved as to not just be ingredients thrown together on a plate.

When we entered the restaurant we were greeted and was seated by the hostess. Our waitress a lady with black & silver hair came to take our order shortly afterwards, however, after that she never came back! I had to ask another waitress for straws and asked her to tell our waitress I needed more hot water. The food lacked flavor and was bland. The restaurant had a lot of windows that brought in a lot of natural light and was clean. Another thing that brotherd me was they charged you a fee to use your credit card so the tip went towards to fee they charged me! Our overall experience was just okay, nothing to rave about or recommend to family and friends.

My niece and I couldn't believe this was our first visit, especially after hearing so many great things. This place is incredibly popular, so I definitely recommend making reservations. After checking in, we waited less than five minutes and struck up a fun conversation with two lovely ladies who were also first-timers. It was the perfect start to the evening. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and inviting, with Mardi Gras beads and colorful carnival masks throughout the restaurant that give it so much character. Our server was fantastic. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but he was friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations made choosing from so many tempting options much easier. Now let's talk about the food... EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! To kick things off, I ordered the Creole Voodoo Zombie, and my niece had the Hurricane. Both cocktails were fantastic and set the tone for an amazing meal. My niece is an excellent cook herself and has dietary restrictions, so dining out can often be disappointing. That's what made this experience even more special--she genuinely loved every bite. We started with the crab cake appetizer and the BBQ shrimp appetizer, and both were packed with incredible flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the blackened ribeye, swapping the broccolini for the collard greens (worth the $3 upcharge!). The steak was perfectly cooked, and those collard greens were phenomenal. My niece chose the blackened red snapper étouffée, and she couldn't stop raving about it. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't leave without dessert. We shared the Mississippi Mud Turtle Brownie topped with marshmallow fluff and the strawberry shortcake. Our server suggested pairing the brownie with a butterscotch liqueur, and I'm so glad I took his recommendation--it was the perfect finishing touch and complemented the dessert beautifully. We've been talking about this meal ever since we left...and that's probably the biggest compliment I can give. In fact, we were so impressed that we made reservations for next weekend before we even left--and we're bringing two friends with us! Perfect for: Date nights, celebrations, or anytime you want a memorable meal that's worth planning ahead for. Maple Tree Inn absolutely lived up to the hype. 10/10--highly recommend!

For mains, we went with the Pitmaster's N'awlins Gumbo, Hickory Buttered BBQ Shrimp, and Burnt Ends. Every dish was spot on--flavorful, well-executed, and clearly made with care. The restaurant itself is pristine--clean, polished, and classy without feeling stuffy. Service was just as strong. Our server, Nick, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Safe to say, it will NOT be another 30 years before my next visit. Highly recommend.
