I wanted to try a breakfast restaurant I never had. So I decided to try Blueberry Hill Breakfast Cafe. They were ok, but it's better option's of breakfast restaurants you can choose from in my opinion. I was disappointed because they didn't have a chicken breast skillet on the menu, and that's one item I always get when I go to a breakfast restaurant. Instead I settled for their veggie skillet, and it was bland. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper to make it taste better. In my opinion The pancakes were better than the veggie skillet. The only thing I didn't like about the pancakes were, they wasn't easy to cut through. They had a little chewy crust texture on the outside of the pancakes. But overall the staff were nice and they have reasonable prices. But it's other breakfast spots that's better you can choose from. I can't remember the name of the omelette I got, but it was filled with cheese, ham, bell peppers, and onions, which is quite possibly the best combo for an omelette. the melted cheese tasted so good, but would recommend for them to spread the cheese throughout the omelette, as there were some part of it that didn't have any cheese. the potatoes were so incredibly crispy, and the pancakes were nothing special, but tasted great with their very hot syrup. my bf's quesadilla was humongous, but he did mention that the beans weren't the best. restaurant was super spacious, yet cozy at the same time, in a good way. workers were extremely kind, and our server always made an effort to check on us. read more

Pleasant neighborhood breakfast joint. Skip parking in the tiny lot and go into the overflow lot (the little lot is like 6 spaces and elderly folks trying to swing into those spaces). The owner is very hands on and visible, at times it can make you feel bad for the staff when he is yelling about every little thing. That being said, while I wouldn't want to work there, the food is very tasty. Staff are very friendly and try to be attentive when not being pulled in a different direction by the owner. It's typical breakfast diner fare - nothing that you can't get anywhere else, but at the same time there's a small-town comfort to it. It's in our regular rotation for breakfast; you can't go wrong stopping in for a bite. Oh, and fun fact, if you've been drinking coffee, they will offer you a cup to go. It took a while to get my order taken. However, the waiter was apologetic about it and once I placed it, it came very quickly. I got the 2 Eggs breakfast which came with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, the chicken sausage, and 2 pancakes. I got fresh strawberries added on top for that extra little something. It was a very generous portion, reflected in a reasonable price. The booth was comfortable and there were decorations. I ordered a coffee, the king of the hill omelette and pancakes. The coffee was fine. I really enjoyed the frittata style omelette. The omelette was huge and I could only finish half of it. It could definitely be shared by 2-3 people. I was full from the omelette and couldn't even try the pancakes. I decided to take them home and my server brought a box to me. To start off, the service was very slow besides getting seated. It took the waitress about 10 minutes to arrive back at our table and take our order. I understand it wasn't her fault, it was her first day and they were understaffed. The food was ok; it also took a while to make it out. It arrived semi warm. While the table got our food, the waitress forgot to bring my wife's plate. She totally forgot about it, and was brought out when everyone else was done and we had to box it to go. The guy that was seating people (host) also made it awkward with the way he was walking around back and forth. I have dined at Blueberry Hill Cafe for years with my family. We love this place. The servers are usually friendly and we more than not we have a great experience when we dine in. However when I call to place an order over the phone and pick up my orders I always get home and something's wrong with what I ordered. I ordered via Uber eats the other day and everything came back perfect, I'm guessing that's because the order was printed out and all requests were made in writing so there was really no room for error to be made. read more

When Blueberry Hill, in Homewood, originally opened, I did not care for the food. The initial visit years ago kept me from ever returning. ... Until recently! Boy, am I glad I finally went back! Today was a crowded Saturday morning, but we only waited in the small waiting area for approximately 10 minutes. It is a cute, modern, and clean restaurant with a really cheerful atmosphere. The menu is like most breakfast restaurants, offering an assortment of pancakes, waffles, crepes, omlettes, and skillets, along with a small lunch menu of soups, sandwiches, wraps, and burgers. All are served daily until closing at 3:00 p.m. Upon entering, I recognized one of the waitresses from the old "JN Michaels" restaurant, which closed about a year ago. I always loved their staff. Today, I ordered the Bacon, Avocado, Tomato Omelet. My husband had the Philly Steak Skillet. We both thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast-- with the exception of our pancakes!!!! The Pancakes are like Bricks! They are so thick, they never absorbed the butter or syrup! We asked for another set, thinking perhaps the pancakes were just a little cold. However, the replacement pancakes will still non-absorbant! The waitress was gracious and offered another option. We chose English Muffin and French Toast as our replacements, which made us happy, and were both tasty. We were also offered a coupon off of a future visit to compensate for our dissatisfaction. Went to Blueberry Hill today using a Groupon I purchased a few months back (and also after having gone to one of their other locations and really liking it) with my mom and actually had a great experience. When we got there, around noon, the parking lot (in back of the restaurant they share with a Pet Clinic) looked full and both my mom and I were thinking the worst. Once inside, I went to reserve a table for two and they said about 10 minutes. Not even five minutes later, the guy comes over and said he had a table ready for us...talk about service. We get seated and I noticed the restaurant being full but still plenty of room to walk and the noise level not that bad. In addition, there was a big screen television close by with the Olympics on. Looking at the menu, they had a huge selection of both breakfast and lunch items. For something different, both my mom and I decided on a Canadian Egg Fritata (eggs with spinach, tomato, and canadian bacon)...mine had cheese and hers did not,....she got hers with an English Muffin and I got mine with pancakes. When the food was served shortly thereafter (yes despite the busyness of the place service was very fast and efficient) I noticed it was hot and very satisfying. In addition, the coffee was great (bottomless cup) and prices were reasonable. I would definitely go here again as the food is plentiful (and satisfying) and the service is fantastic. read more
