I booked a last minute appointment and Isabella was my stylist. I showed up 10 minutes early and she was ready for me. She made sure to offer the two shampoos and she did a great job! I am a fan of the Southern Belle (Southern Comfort) with pin curls to hold the style and she was ready. She sectioned off my hair and made sure every section was perfectly dry. She used the products in the yellow bottle for volume and the pink bottle for detangler. She sprayed my pin curls for the humidity (Austin is still too hot and humid). She finished off by doing a light finger toss on my curls and finished off with a few spritz of their amazing hairspray. So let me tell you how long it has lasted so far - I walked 5 minutes back to the hotel, then we had dinner at the Four seasons and that required a short walk to the cyber cab that missed our pickup point, then we walked to Rainey Street for Oktoberfest and then we walked back to our hotel. I told the stylist I needed volume and explained that I have fine, curly hair, so I paid extra for a treatment to keep it from frizzing. Great, I was super excited! Then I went outside and got an Uber to protect my hair from the extreme humidity, headed to the Line Hotel (if you look it up, it's not far by car). I got up to the room where everyone was getting ready -- I was there for my niece's wedding. Within moments, my hair was completely straggly. It looked greasy. It looked horrible, and we had to get in a car in about 15 minutes. Thankfully, my friend was available -- she'd already had her hair and makeup done -- and she redid every single piece of my hair for me. When I called in a panic, all I was told was to come back. Well, weddings don't wait for their guests -- I had no opportunity to come back. They then offered for me to come back the next day, which would have been of no value to me for two reasons: I was getting on a plane, and the wedding would be over. I got a return call on Monday, which was kind of the manager. However, the only thing they offered me was a $15 credit to a place I'll never return to, since I don't live in Austin, Texas. If someone called me back and told me their hair had completely fallen, my first instinct would be, "Of course we'll give you a refund" -- but not this place. So if you're thinking about getting your hair done at Drybar: they're usually absolutely amazing, but I'd proceed with caution given other people's experiences. I'm sorry to have to say this, but I've truly never been so disappointed in customer service as I was on Monday, when I learned that the over $100 I spent wasn't going to be refunded -- even though my hair ended up looking beautiful, thanks to my friend, not Drybar.
