If you love boutiques with interesting, unique and well priced items that you won't see on someone else then this is your place! CUTE dresses, tops, leather jackets accessories, very well priced and helpful staff make this store a favorite when I'm in Chicago. The prices were FANTASTIC - the only problem (BOO HOO) is that with small boutiques they don't have a zillion sizes so I missed out on a few really cute items due to size. They also have a very unique fragrance that I haven't seen in stores called Summersent in the most beautiful bottle. Try it when you go in, it's really beautiful (scent and bottle). There were a few items that I tried on that I'm sad I didn't buy. May have to see if they can ship to me. read more

It has a charming array of everything from one of a kind vintage handbags and jewelry, stunning scarves and gifts and clothing for casual as well as tres chic evening lovely. Heidi knows exactly what to suggest and bring to the dressing room. She will always be honest in what does or doesn't work. Darling little shop right next door to Lucky Platter on Main Street. Crammed full of all things delightfully feminine with a liberal dash of French styling. The clothes are adorable - so much so that one dress in the window caught my eye. My maid of honor had not yet bought a dress for herself for my wedding and I thought she should see this one. Well of course not only did it fit like a glove (take THAT alterations!) but it was only $80! We were shocked - it looked like a MUCH pricier dress than that. Plus! She loved it and was thrilled it wasnt a "typical" wear-it-once piece of wedding garb. Also a ton of other things to see, even though it is small I kept going round & round constantly seeing new things. Jewelry, purses...it is just a good mix of things at every price point. Ooh la la, I don't know whether to be mad at my friend Ren (of course, never) or love her to pieces for turning me on to this diamond of a find in Evanston! First of all, imagine the song Boum! by Charles Trenet playing in your head while you shop. This place made my heart go boom and love being a woman again. For those who know me well, I never shop for myself because I'm bored with the usual. But, when I stepped into this darling shop with French flair all over it, I was immediately transported and found it very hard to leave. Every nook and cranny was filled with something wonderful. Delightful soaps, lotions, perfumes, jewelry, paper, gifts, artwork, and one-of-a-kind and unique threads the girl next door won't be wearing. I really really adore the Scrapbook clothing brand mixed in with others I've never heard of. The majority of the store's clothing picks are soft, luxurious, tailored, drapey, and feminine. This is where you come for that special dress, or everyday outfit that will make you want to get up in the morning. Pricing...very reasonable. Sale item dresses as low as $25. Everything is affordable. Great quality items, but you have to pick through the sizes (as with any boutique shopping experience). Don't worry there is something for everyone here. The customer service is outstanding. Walking in for the first time, I was led around the store and directed to new collections, sale items, lounge wear, fun brands, and even given a party invitation to their Sweet 16 (celebrating 16 years in business on the 16th)! 20% off already great original prices - how can I not do everything in my power to be there! Thank you Marie Parie for giving me a new reason to make it to Main Street for a shopping spree. And, Brothers K Coffee is just a couple doors down. One of my favorite coffee houses. read more

Like the previous poster, this store is CRAMMED with stuff. Way too much stuff. I came in here because I handmake stylish purses and clutches. I've sold at local art shows so I wanted to see if I could do some consignment with local stores. The owner told me she "only buys from NY or LA". A little snotty and who doesn't want to support local artists. They want us to support local businesses, but they won't support local artists? Then as I continued to look at the stuff she sold I noticed she sold a wallet that I owned by a company called Lavishy. Guess what? This is a wholesale company from Canada. When I did a little research on this company recently, I found that it does not make its products in Canada. Hmmmm I wonder where they are made? Probably China!! So much for selling French tabletop, jewelry, and accessories! To sum it all up, this place is nothing special. It's crammed with crap. Crap I can buy for less on the internet and at other boutiques around the Chicago area. read more

Very cute stuff, however, it's a bit on the pricey side. I fell in love with a long sleeve, super-soft, shirt that could be dressed up or down but it was over $100. I understand higher prices for better quality and smaller suppliers that don't have wholesale prices but after reading Anna's review about one of the brands she saw here, I have to wonder if these prices are really a fair markup. For example, a patterned, cotton dress, similar to something you'd get at TJ Maxx for $30+/- was $90.... cute, but not that cute. One thing I will definitely recommend you pay attention to is their return policy - no returns, only exchanges. I started a new job and popped in here for "key pieces" for my wardrobe (I had been wearing scrubs at work up to this point so had no real professional clothes). I found a great jacket/blazer on sale that was super slimming and also on a whim a victorian, lace, high collared type shirt that I utterly love. When I got home that day after shopping at many other places I saw that victorian shirt was way too dressy for the office I'd be in and since I"m a full time student I don't have a social life. I decided to return the shirt but only got store credit. I guess that's fine just because the place is so adorable. Just something to keep in mind, especially since I didn't notice a return policy clearly posted by the register. read more

I Louvre this place! I have been going here for over a year and my collection of Marie Parie finds gives me quite a rush every time I open my closet. There is always new stuff and no matter who is working (although it is usually the owner), I always feel like I am getting special treatment. I bring every guest who comes to visit me to this place and they somehow hate me after. Usually because the stuff is so cute, it is hard to say no. The regular-priced stuff is affordable but, there is also just as cute stuff on the sale racks. I peruse both and usually end up slapping my wrists as I fork over my credit card. I don't care though. I know that if I buy something from here, I won't run into another b&%$# wearing the same thing. You know how girls do. read more

For the past 6 or 7 years, this wonderful shop on Main Street has been my first stop-off for gifts for all my girlfriends and female relatives...The only "problem" is, I always seem to walk out with something for myself as well! Being a bit of a clothes-horse, I just can't resist the fashionable, high-quality tops and dresses, as well as super-cute jeans and jackets, etc. Though not a large shop, it never feels at all cramped; in fact I'm constantly impressed by how many unique, beautiful items are available.
