Given the current state of healthcare, this place isn't bad, though it's not outstanding. The not-so-good: wait times. I had a 10:20 appointment, and I saw the doctor about 11:20. To be fair, the tech came and got me about 10:45 and did the initial scans; after that, I got put back out in the waiting room again and called back in for the doctor. I was with the doctor for about 6 minutes total. She was good, professional, and clear, but boy, did things happen fast. She did give me time for questions, but everything was happening so fast I couldn't think and then had several more after I left. The checkout lady, Mary, was very kind and helpful; she got me an appointment quickly and easily. Walking in was confusing; the check-in kiosks are around the corner from the entrance, with no clear signage, so I didn't have anywhere to go until I wandered around and check in via QR code. Not the best experience, but like I mentioned, options are pretty limited for healthcare these days. These guys were able to see me within a week, and, end of the day, I was satisfied with my care. My 6yo has been a patient here since she was 3 and we've always had great experiences. The staff is friendly and efficient, I think I've only ever waited longer than 15min (to be called back from the waiting room) one time. Not going back. Ever! Tech got my prescription wrong twice!! Not even close. It was probably her first day. Waited a month for doctor appointment and didn't see a doctor. Just a tech. Stayed on hold for 25 minutes to discuss situation but had to leave a message. Nobody called back. That was 2 weeks ago. Very unprofessional and overbooked. I counted 13 people in the waiting room. The office doesn't seem to want to explain anything. Then the wait to see doctor was extremely long. So I was getting angrier because they took two people that came in after me. So I started to express my anger and Dr. S decided to chest pump me and start yelling at me. When I told him to stop he would not. Needless to say the appt. went awful. I went here last month. I had 2 glasses that broke on me, and I could see every time I wore my contacts. So went to see marietta eye center. I really liked the location of the office, it is on the ground floor to the left in wellstar windy hill branch. Plenty of parking. The bldg. to the right with blue railing walkway. So, appointment was breeze, the desk were helpful, courteous, and informed me that my wellstar insurance would not cover this visit as I am not due for visit until 2025. So I paid out of pocket..$110. I concluded, I need to check my eyesight, I am a nurse, I can lose my license if I give the wrong drug to a patient, or die in an accident if I am blind at night while driving to or from work/home. The eye doctor's asst. was sweet, did some tests, assured me all would be well, then the doctor came, I thought somebody sent in their kid to do my eye check but she was lovely... explained in simple down to earth english, no medical jargon used. Dilated my eyes and all. Recommended I buy glasses at the office but I just wanted to check my numbers and buy online for my glasses, if my wellstar bcbs is not covering might as go elsewhere though after the exceptional care they provided I might as well buy my glasses from there. read more

So sorry I started this journey with Marietta Eye. Had nothing but good reports on them from others however I feel that if there is anything out of the ordinary you can get the run around. Customer service after the fact is next to nonexistent. No empathy to help. In reading the notes on my 'Patient Portal', it seems to be a CYA for any potential down the road. After my own investigation, I discovered there was a 3rd option for my situation (treatment of strabismus) but that was not mentioned . I am supposing it is because there is not a Neuro-Optometrist in their practice and that specialty treats patients with this 3rd option. Very frustrated and disappointed. read more

HORRIBLE! I'm a new patient, and requested an appt with the Ophthalmologist in their Acworth location. I was given the appt, however when I checked on their website I noticed the appt was made with their Optometrist, which is not what I requested nor did they ask me if I was ok seeing a different type of eye doctor. I immediately called back and they never answered my call. After being on hold for over 5min with their automated machine, I hung up. I tried calling again today 11/11, and was left on hold again forever. A live person never picks up the phones. WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Needless to say I will not be attending my appt on 11/13/20. If this is the quality of service they provide, no thanks. This office does not even deserve a 1 star rating!! read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Denise Johnson She preformed cataract surgery on both eyes and I am amazed at how clear my vision is. She explained everything in detail and had the best personality of any doctor I have met. The staff at the survey center were just as great. I even received a person thank you note from Dr. Johnson after my surgeries. If you need cataract surgery I recommend Dr. Denise Johnson and the team at Marietta Eye Clinic. Great experience. All of the staff--from receptionists to the doctor--were courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. Even though I didn't originally have an appointment and we calling them on an urgent care basis, they found a time spot for me with an ophthalmologist. Today was our first visit to Marietta Eye Clinic. The visit was actually for my son, who is almost 3, hence the reason I am writing the review. The office was clean and the staff was very pleasant. Check in was easy to do using the computerized kiosk. I could see how some older people may have trouble with it, but I personally preferred it over endless amounts of paperwork. My son saw Dr. Monica Bratton. She is the pediatric specialist at this group. We loved her! She was very friendly and spent a lot of time with us, answering any questions and concerns we had. She was very knowledgable and also very patient with my son. We will definitely see her again when it is time for another visit. read more

This was my first time at this location. I have been to various eye doctors and have never experienced this kind of service. All of the eye tests were performed by the technicians. All the doctor ended up doing was shining a light in my eye but did not go over the tests the technicians did at all. I have never gone to an optometrist where the technicians perform all the eye tests and the doctor does not even go over the test to make sure the technician did the test correctly. Overall Dr. Schlesinger was nice but I will not be returning because I pay to see the MD and want them to perform the tests to make sure everything is correct but that was not done. Also, I was told this exam was covered by my insurance but at checkout they charged me an extra $25 for a contacts evaluation that I did not need. That is a ridiculous extra charge they say is charged for every patient that wears contacts. Why is this NECESSARY test not covered by my insurance if it was so important?! They need to inform patients of all charges up front because I would not have came here if I knew of this extra charge. They are already charging my insurance $400 for the exam and then an additional!? What a rip off. Beware of this place and make sure of all the costs if you come here. First time at Marietta eye clinic in Acworth they told me the doctor wasn't in and he could not see me for what I needed. This was after waiting for this appointment for 3 week. So rescheduled for Marietta office waited another 3 weeks. Now my appointment for follow up from surgery is in Acworth. Appointment is at 11:10, asked them if they were behind and at 11:37 they said they had two patients in the rooms and once they were done I would be next. WTH can they not keep an appointment. My time is important too. No more Acworth Marietta eye clinic. They are highly disorganized. Needs new manager or someone that can get it together. I've just spent the entire afternoon in a complete waste of time at the Acworth location of this clinic. When I made my appointment three weeks ago, I was very clear about what I needed. The person making the appointment set me up with Dr. Louis Schlesinger. Today, after going through an entire eye exam, the doctor came in and informed me that he was not taking patients with my contact lens issues. Why his staff, and especially the technician who performed the exam, were not aware of this is a mystery to me. The doctor apologized and referred me to another practice. When I called there for an appointment, I was informed that records from Marietta Eye Clinic would not be accepted and that I would have to have the entire exam repeated. I have been a patient of Marietta Eye Clinic for 30+ years. Over the last several, I have used the Acworth location. I have worn glasses most of my life and gave purchased countless pairs of eyeglasses from MEC Given my recent experiences there, I would NOT recommend purchasing glasses from MEC. I find Chrissie, the individual who assists with glasses, to be arrogant and condescending. She is very unhelpful and is either intentionally rude or incompetent. After calling multiple locations for two days straight, I was finally able to get an actual person to answer at the Acworth location. I tried the Acworth location as it is very convenient and the doctors are really awesome. This is the only reason for 2 stars. The front desk clerks and those that answer the phones are very rude and need customer service training. I called with a simple question regarding a previous visit and the young lady worked harder to not provide me with the information rather than just give it to me. She didn't ask my name to look at my account until I became impatient and she again told me she could not help me. Now understand, I called after our first eye appointment last year and a male was able to get this same information with no problem. Needless to say I gave up as she continued to be rude. Beyond frustrated and disappointed in what seemed to be a promising optometry office. Convenient location and nice, new office, but rude staff and ridiculous policies. I bought a LivingSocial voucher for $40 that was good toward $200 on prescription eyewear. I have been wearing both glasses and contact lenses for most of my life, and I have good vision insurance. I intended to use the LivingSocial voucher for prescription sunglasses only. I have been wanting a pair for awhile and though this would be a good opportunity to get them... with the understanding that I could not use the voucher in conjunction with vision insurance benefits. Fine, no problem. I stopped by one afternoon in mid-May with no appointment (per the instructions on the voucher, an appointment was not needed) and asked to see the selection of frames and showed them my voucher. I even brought a copy of my current lens prescription. I was immediately informed that they "really didn't have anything less than $500 or so", and the lady suggested I come back when I my vision insurance benefits rolled over for the year, which was June. Didn't even want me looking at lenses. She also mentioned their "buy one, get one pair 50% off" and said I'd be eligible for that when I came back. Fine - whatever. Reluctantly, I made an appointment for an eye exam in June. So, I go in for my eye exam appointment, and the staff was no less bizarre. My entire eye exam and pupil dilation was done by the technician - not the doctor - and then I was sent back to the waiting room. I am then called back again to see the doctor and then dismissed again to the waiting room. The front office called me up to collect my co-payment for the eye exam. Next, I'm called back for the contact lens guy. He asks what lenses I wear currently, and begins to tell me that I need to switch to Dailies. Knowing that Dailies are much more expensive, I was reluctant, but he gave me a few trial pairs and sent me on my way. He must be getting a kickback fro Dailies manufacturer, because he wouldn't even consider any others for me. I also had to pay him separately for the contact lens fitting. Again - whatever. I felt my patience wearing thin and really just wished I had not bough the LivingSocial voucher, as I still hadn't had a chance to see about the prescription sunglasses. As I left the contact area, I mentioned I needed to see about glasses. Already frustrated with the bizarro policies and procedures, I am told to choose a couple of frames I like and see the eyewear people. So I do. Different lady tells me that really they don't have anything covered by the LivingSocial voucher and proceeds to give me a quote for $543 for the prescription sunglasses. What-ever!! When I asked for something less expensive, she waved her hand at me and said all they had was "right over there". Seriously over it at this point, and very aware at this moment that I have just wasted $40 and my time on this ridiculous practice. Fast forward to today, my supply of contacts I had on hand ran out, and I call Marietta Eye Clinic to order contacts. because of the price of the Dailies, I really just wanted my old Biofinities. Because they did my eye exam, I felt like I needed to try and go through them for contacts this year, then be done with them. The guy over the phone tells me I was fitted for Dailies, not the others, and that I'd have to come back in pay for another fitting. WTH? I never asked for Dailies, the contact guy practically forced them on me. Whatever - just give me the damn Dailies in the quantity that my insurance will cover! Jesus H Christ what is the deal with this office?!?! Note to businesses who offer deals to consumers through LivingSocial, Groupon, etc.... - Isn't the deal to attract potential customers or patients? Why on earth would you make it so difficult to use their voucher and not be the least bit inclined to work within their budget? I don't need the attitude at this place, and they definitely lost my business for good. I'm out $40 for the voucher and they are out one customer! read more

This is the third or fourth time we have seen Dr. Ho. Originally, we went to the Marietta office. After the Acworth office opened, we went here. We have been to Acworth at least twice and maybe three times. ALL of our care was EXCELLENT. NO PROLEMS AT ALL. So that is three of four visits, all of which were WONDERFUL. Very prompt, very helpful. Everyone was very courteous. Clean office and restrooms at both locations. My mother also goes to Marietta Eye Clinic, and she and my father also had cataract surgery there. VERY good experience for all four of us for a total of around 10 visits. This place is a complete rip off!!!! I was charged for a $95 follow up appt which included someone walking into the room and asking how my two year old was doing with them not checking his eyes or dialating them or anything. I refused to pay and they knocked it down to a self pay and charged me $65. Shortly after my two year old lost his glasses. I called insurance to find out if they would cover a new pair, which they don't. But found out 1) my first pair should have been free so I had been charged for some kind of $84 upgrade. And 2) follow ups are only necessary for medical reason which an astigmatism wasn't. After multiple arguments and being hung up on twice by one of the "managers" all of a sudden they need the glasses (which they know he's lost) to refund the $84 upgrade and the follow up was because his astigmatism makes him at risk for developing a lazy eye?!? Bullshit! Don't go here! Especially don't bring your kids here! read more
