My new favorite wine shop! After having a hard time finding a specific north Georgia wine around the Helen area, we decided to try "the big city" on our drive back to Florida on July 4th. We came across this shop doing an online search. Gave them a call and spoke to Karen, who told me they did have the wine we were looking for, but they were going to be closed most of the day, but would stick around for another hour to wait for us (!). Arriving at the store, there was a note to call Karen, and a cute Springer Spaniel staring at us through the door (!). Karen and Randall were at the store in a matter of minutes. In addition to the elusive wine we were looking for, they gave us some great suggestions on others. They were so accommodating, despite being closed for the day; they even gave us tastings (!). From talking with them and checking out their website, they also do a lot of neat community focused events. These are the types of businesses that should be frequented so they can thrive! read more

That's with my husband on his first time there we found it to be very warm and welcoming we went during the fall festival they had a spread of appetizers, The male bartender I believe with Larry and sheila were so friendly and helpful they gave great recommendations for wanting to have over sitting there listening to live entertainment a gentleman who was playing the guitar Alex we saved for several rounds of wine and then went walking about I'm enclosing pictures about how great this was we also decided to join their wine club which is two bottles of wine either two red or one white and one red with cheese pairings to go with it you pick it up slightly after the first of the month and it looks wonderful. read more

Incredible experience. Called from out of state looking for a next day delivery (5pm the evening before) for someone in Atlanta. I am fairly awful at gift giving and alcohol illiterate and, so I told them then the occasion and rough budget and (Karen) pieced it together, sent me a picture of it, and arranged a courier service to deliver it around 30 miles away from them. Gift basket came out gorgeous and tastefully put together. They even let me know exact time it was delivered. Will absolutely be using their services again. You can tell when people take pride in what they do and genuinely care. I don't leave reviews frequently but I feel that people should know what a gem this place is. read more

The Marietta Wine Market is a wonderful place to pick up a nice bottle of wine at a very reasonable price. They also offer wines by the glass. So you can relax in a nice place with a great atmosphere. On Saturdays afternoons and Friday evenings they have live entertainment. On Wednesday and Saturdays they hold Charity wine tastings with the proceeds go to local charities. The tastings are varied with different themes. The person pouring them is very knowledgeable about the wines and they can give you advice. read more

I'm not a fan of writing bad reviews, but I had to share my experience. I came here a few years ago for a private wine tasting and had a decent time. I recently went back and was extremely disappointed in the customer service. As I walked in, it was only one other person there and there was no greeting by any of the staff members. I sat down and waited for about 7 minutes and still no one greeted me nor asked what I wanted. Unfortunately, this will be my last time visiting this place. Customer service is critical and as much as I want to support local, the service has to match the quality of the products. read more

Nice wine selection and good staff. The 1-star rating is for the posting on-line and outside of the store for a Kentucky Derby Watching Party. The one thing they lacked was the ability to get the race on TV. Tough to have a Derby party without the Derby on TV. read more

I had no idea this place existed on the square (just off Powder Springs down from Marietta Pizza Co.) What a cute store. A one-stop shop for wine, wine gifts, or a wine and cheese and meat picnic. Great gifts like little iron shapes for collecting corks: a cat, the word WINE, an Eiffel Tower. A large collection of coolers, cases, bags and wheelies for picnics. A fridge with various 6 packs and 40s of interesting beers. A case with beer cheeses, salamis, other cheeses, other meats, more cheeses, etc. Then university themed bottles and bottle corks, cool shaped decanters, un breakable wine "glasses," etc. sassy tee shirts and napkins, an overall less girly atmosphere (welcome, dudes!) And of course a ton of wine. There were also a few couches and chairs, a big screen tv, a real life pup hanging around, and they do wine tasting on Wednesdays. This place is awesome... And I'm going to keep it in mind next time I need an awesome gift! read more

I grew up in Marietta and I always make a point to support any local shop. I have shopped with them when I lived in Georgia for years and I now live in Arizona and I call in orders all the time from them, they are simply fabulous!!! I've been in the store a few times but usually do phone orders. I usually speak with the owner and I give her my price range and she always puts together a great basket with amazing cheese and crackers and of course, wine! On top of that, THEY DELIVERD! Granted, the place of delivery was only a few miles down the road but the fact that they deliver with no additional cost just gives a great southern charm to this place. A great place on the Marietta square. We enjoyed four wines at their Saturday wine tasting, where our $10 donation went to to a charity. They have a great selection of wines and a small selection of cheeses, meats and other items to complement the wine. They have a wine bar as well, where you could sit and enjoy a glass before you buy. read more

My very favorite & only sister-in-law loves Prosecco & surprises so it felt like a natural fit to send her something special on her birthday last Sunday. Unfortunately I had pneumonia & it slipped my mind all together. But have no fear Marietta Wine Market picked my call at 745pm on Saturday night (I always forget GA doesn't sell liquor on Sundays) and Karen helped to build a fabulous Prosecco, meat & goodies basket. A great store for a wine tasting, or simply to have a good glass of wine! The owners and staff are very nice and knowledgable, they offer different events and usually have a nice cheese platter to sample. There are unique gifts in the store as well! I'm not a wine person, I'll be honest, but the simple fact that every Saturday they do wine tastings for local charities I have to throw them 5 stars! My wife and I went this past Saturday for a friend's charity for childhood arthritis, and it was just about packed with people. This is also the largest wine shop I've ever visited, and the atmosphere was not stuffy like most wine stores I've been before. There is also another room that has snacks and drinks other than wine for people like me, and I could see this being a great date spot if ever we can resolve to leave our baby with a sitter! read more

Great time at the wine tasting on Wednesday. We sampled the Charles Smith wines and learned about his unique journey in becoming a self-taught winemaker after a career of managing a rock band. I really wanted to give this store a really good review and a good rating because I think they have good intentions and are nice people. But, the selection seemed limited to me. I went for one of their wine tastings on a Saturday. The wines we tried were nice enough and I did buy a few bottles. The trouble started when I began to browse the store. First of all, they seemed to be a bit overpriced on some wines. I know they are a smaller store and not a mega-discount-wine store so I can somewhat understand this. But, they were overpriced on wines that are fairly common ones that I have seen in grocery stores. That was also part of the problem - they had a lot of wines that I knew and quite liked, but they did not have a large selection of really interesting wines that I wanted to try. When I asked if they carried any Chinon (I love Chinon and always ask for Chinon since it's sort of hard to find), I was at first greeted with confusion (did I say "Chenin"?). Then I was told that he personally had not really tried much from that region and, since it is not that common in the US, he didn't think he would be able to sell much of it. I do understand that a store needs to stock what will sell but I much prefer wine stores that are willing to introduce wines to their customers and recommend different wines in order to sell more wine, rather than just sell what their customers already know. And, I certainly hope that he ran right out and tried some Chinon because, why not? If I am in the area, I would check this store out again but I would not make it a destination. They were nice but I just didn't find very much that was interesting. If you just need to stop in an grab a bottle of wine, this is a fine place. But, if you are looking for something different to try, I would recommend checking elsewhere. read more
