The Palomilla Steak smothered in thinly sliced onions. As our sides, we chose black beans, yellow rice and sliced avocado!

Elaina was such a delight and so very helpful on our first visit to Cuban Diner in Marietta! We both enjoyed the Palomilla Steak Dinner...so very flavorful! The steak was marinated in lime juice and came with three sides. We chose black beans, yellow rice and avocado slices. EVERYTHING was delicious and we will definitely return to try some different dishes!

This was our first time here are we really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and the food was great. It was empty when we arrived but several people arrived here after us. Nice ambiance with Spanish music playing low.

We ordered takeout after the waterpark. It was easy to order from the website and the food was ready when estimated. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with lots of easy parking. The lady who helped me was kind and was quick to get me on my way. I saw her race out of the door into the rain few moments later bringing something to a patron who forgot it - above and beyond customer service. My Cuban was good - fresh ingredients and plenty of meat and cheese. The tres leches was really, really good. It didn't have the typical cool whip on top which was fine by me, and great flavor and texture.

OK. So this is the 2nd time I've been here. I wanted to wait for the second time to see if the amazing food the first time was a fluke. It was NOT a fluke. I lived in Miami for almost 15 years and this is the closest I've had to Miami Cuban food in Atlanta BY FAR. The service was excellent both times. The restaurant has a nice authentic Cuban feel and the music they play is great. I had a Pan Con Bistec the first time and Bistec Empanizado the second time There croquetas ON POINT! Just like Miami and the tostones are good. Yuca con mojo is delicious and the Pan Con Lechón my wife had was delicious. We sampled the appetizers and they were so good. Very authentic and will be coming back for sure.

Checked out The Cuban Diner for lunch today and it did not disappoint! Super unassuming strip mall location, but don't let that deter you. The second you walk in and those authentic Cuban smells hit you, you know you made the right choice. What we ordered: Family Appetizer Platter (we wanted to try everything okay! Don't judge us lol) Lechon Asado- Diner Style w/ Cuban Rice and Sweet Plantains El Cubano Sandwich w/ Fries Espresso Appetizer Platter: Really the only thing we'd order again off the platter is the Yucca Fries. I was super excited about the Empanadas, but they weren't handmade, which was disappointing. Still good flavor, but you could tell they were premade frozen. Lechon Asado - ORDER IT! Flavor of the pork was amazing. Cuban rice was decent, but lacked flavor. Sweet plantains are always delish and we're fried a bit dark, just like the fiancé likes them. El Cubano Sandwich: Good, not great. Pork was a bit dry and could have used some char. Little over do on mayo (or maybe I'm just not used to mayo on a Cubano?) Would order again. Espresso: Strong AF just as it should be Overall 7/10 Their mojo sauce was delish! We put that ish on everything and asked for some to go!

Driving down the road and searching for the most random craving: papa rellena. We stumbled upon this place and we are SO GLAD we did! Walking in there was a huge party in the middle of the restaurant having a great time. The server immediately came to us and warned we may experience a delay as their food had just went in. Not an issue at all. We ordered and we're surprised that the food came out much quicker than expected. Everything was piping hot and absolutely delicious! The family that was there welcomed us to join their celebration and even served us homemade flan. We genuinely felt like we were home with family this entire trip! We will happily return here any time!

    Supposed to be el cubano!

Ordered el Cubano and fries and obviously got just a ham and cheese. See pics. Totally my fault for not checking the box but it was not busy! Me and one other person waiting. Lost my service on the first try.

My friends (who don't drink alcohol much) had a couple sips and were gone we had to walk around the square after to sober up! I got the ropa vieja and thought it was delicious! The beef was super flavorful and tender. I was a bit disappointed that they only gave two tiny plantain slices cause it was good and I wanted more. The rice and beans were pretty average, the beans were extremely plain, definitely could've been better. I would definitely come back to try a Cubano though since that's what they're known for and my friend who got one almost melted when she took a bite cause it was so delicious (I took a bite too and it really was very good!). For my late lunch I selected the tostones, which was listed as a shareable item. It came with a choice of meat toppings and I selected ropa viejo. Mariana shared two different options for preparation and opted for the grilled with onions. I was given a buzzer to notify when ready. My lunch date, a friend from PTA days who was visiting had selected this location due to her liking of another food court vendor. Definitely options for everyone in your group! Her food order was ready for pickup as I waited for mine to be prepared. We selected seating inside, as outside was also an option. My wait was short and pleasantly surprised by the large portions received. The tostones were large and plentiful! Had ample to share and take home. Everything was hot, fresh and meat well marinated with spices and onions. The accompanying sauce was an aioli that lacked a bit in flavor, and really not needed due to flavorful food. I believe it was for dipping plantain and mixed nicely with a spicy sauce Mariana suggested. I will definitely return again! Only caveat was parking. Ample space when I went, but confusing. The row closest to entry had paid parking signage, and the row closest to street had 2 hour parking with no apparent fees. Upon exit, some cars had tickets and several people were pondering why. May have exceeded the allotted time, so be mindful when parking. Overall, a good alternative to the eateries on the square.

I was scared that they also could have closed, so I tried to call, but there was a strange message saying no one is taking calls...not a voicemail, it was as if there was no service. The sandwich I wanted wasn't available because she didn't have the bread needed, so I tried "The Tampa" I don't like Swiss cheese, but I think that's the only cheese they have. It was stuffed with roast pork, but I guess I'm not a fan of the pork. The Cuban bread is amazing! My son got "Pollo Especial" and she told him it was the last one of the day (it was about 1:45 and they close at 10). He said it was excellent. We decided to stop by for lunch and we were the only customers there. The restaurant seems to have taken on some Caribbean flair, with a photo area adorned with fake flowers, a bar that was barely stocked, a DJ area without a real dance floor and ViP area that if you have a mobile disability you probably won't be able to get to. The manager on duty was Cassandra and she was very nice and the music playing was very tropical. The ambiance was nice, then we were given the menus. The word Havana implies that it would have traditional Cuban foods, not sure if they consulted a Cuban or even competent Caribbean chef. Perhaps the drinks are good but I will the food left much to be desired. My husband ordered the nachos and the chips were store bought and extremely salty, combine with the canned cheese and the unseasoned meat it was not very good at all. In fact my husband took three bites and he couldn't eat anymore. It was beyond salty and inedible. My daughter ordered the empanadas. On the menu pictured it says empanadas, hence leading one to believe that it would be more than one. However, the empanadas meant one and somehow or another, you the customer are left to figure this out when one empanada arrives on a bed of Lettuce. She also ordered the steak tostones cups which were overpowered with the guacamole. My daughter loves guacamole but the ratio guacamole to steak was too much and the two half strips of steak were not enough to balance out the flavor. I had the hibachi, the steak arrived so badly burnt that it curled up and the charred pieces of steak were inedible. The vegetables surrounding the little bowl of burnt rice were ok so I happily ate that. My husband who never complains asked our very sweet waitress if she could get the manager. After he went through the issues with the food, she was extremely open to the issues and explained they are in the process of tweaking some things. I expressed I would happily pay for the veggies that I ate and the empanada that my daughter ate and the tostones as she ate two of the three sharing the second. The manager then took our full plates away. We were a little taken aback to get the bill of 50% off when we hadn't taken three full bites of the inedible food. I wish this business success however, maybe the chef is new as well. We will not be returning to eat, perhaps the drinks are good because the ambiance seems nice and the music was amazing.

Interior / Exterior They're located in Powder Springs on that street I call 'restaurant row' right before you get to downtown Powder Springs proper. They're in the space formerly occupied by Los Portales Mexican Restaurant, and more recently SAC Burger. The interior space open and clean, but very dark (appropriate for a lounge - lol). The parking lot is big, but it's a bit tight. Customer Service The server / bartender was SOOO friendly. I love that she welcomed me the moment I crossed the threshold and thanked me for coming in. She hit me with a big, beautiful smile during her welcome and she was pleasant and upbeat during our entire interaction. Note to all bar and lounge owners: Beautiful bartenders area easy to find. But beautiful bartenders who are pleasant and engaging (versus the ones who act irritated and snarky with guests) should be cherished. They can make or break your business. Lol. I also loved that she knew the menu and was able to answer all my questions and provide recommendations. I checked my receipt later and it says her name was Michaela. Price Value I thought the prices were fair. Everything is so expensive nowadays, but these guys had some burger combos for $12 and under. Food I decided to play it safe and ordered the chicken sandwich. They didn't have a grilled chicken option, so I went with the fried, non-spicy filet. It comes with fries. I deliberately didn't take a photo because they do that 'new' thing where they put the lettuce and tomato BELOW the protein, which traps the heat, so by the time I got home with my food, my lettuce and tomato looked pretty sad. Note to all kitchens - when you put hot meat on top of any produce, it pretty much cooks the produce. Produce is best just placed off to the side. And if it's a sandwich with hot melted cheese, put the top bun and the produce to the side. I did not want to do them a disservice by posting a photo like that (limp, droopy wilted lettuce and mushy hot tomatoes). The chicken filet on my sandwich was tasty. It was seasoned well, pounded thin and hand-breaded. I tried a few of my fries before I left and they were very greasy, as though they were dropped before the oil reached the correct temperature. The fries are not plain, they're slightly battered, so I wasn't to heart-broken because I don't really dig battered fries anyway. They have a pretty diverse menu. The website doesn't show the full menu. I didn't have my phone with me, so I wasn't able to snap a photo of the menu. Also - they don't have take-away menus. They use eco-friendly, sani-friendly QRC's instead. The server explained that it's a Cuban American fusion vibe. They have sandwiches, burgers (including a Salmon burger and the Impossible burger), but they also have wings, tostones, panins, nachos, tacos, hibachi bowls and pasta. They even have soup! I checked out their website and I will DEFINITELY go back to try the hibachi bowl and a margarita. I like the fact that they have options like garden burgers and sides like steamed broccoli. Other Right now, they're only open Thu - Sun from 11am to midnight. Kitchen closes at 11pm. And they're open until 2am on Fri and Sat. Kitchen closes at 1am. They are a no smoking facility. Yay. And they will have karaoke in upcoming months. Definitely think everyone should check them out.

When we arrived, the GPS led us to what appeared to be a parking lot. Off to the side was a small standalone shack where you walk up to a window to place your order. The menu is pretty limited, with only about five different Cuban-style sandwiches to choose from. After ordering, we waited about 15 minutes standing in the parking lot before our name was called and our Cuban sandwiches were ready. There are a few tables set up outside, but they're located right in the parking lot, so you're literally dining next to parked cars. While the sandwiches were good and clearly made fresh, they weren't memorable enough to overcome the lack of ambiance and overall dining experience. This is a decent spot for a quick bite, but some improvements for the customer area would go a long way toward making it a destination worth seeking out.
