We live in the area and we were so glad to see that this selection of property is being completely revamped. We went in on a whim just to get an inexpensive bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio with the lovely weather. The new building is attractive on the outside and clean on the inside. They have a wide variety of alcohol and it looks like they're planning on adding more displays. They also had another section with some snack items and food items, like a small marketplace. I do think the service could be a little bit more friendlier, but in general, we will go back. I did not take photos of the inside because it was a quick in and out purchase. Great local store for the fast pick up on the way home. Always accommodating, family run, sometimes a little busy and there is a line but the prices can't be beat on the specials! My fiancé keeps their lights on, so they have special ordered things like yahoo for our son. It's a wonderful local business with good owners. read more

My favorite liquor store, hands down. #1) it's in my hood! #2) the smoke shop next door is also owned by them and carries 2liter soda, Clemato, and other mixers. #3) the store could be cleaner, smell better, offer tastings like the flashier Missie's nearby... BUT marigold had cases of discounted items! $10 red stag... $4 bottles of decent merlot! I mean come on... Money talks. #4) the owner has several times carried my things to my car and once held my drivers license when i left it behind... All just little, kind gestures that remind me I'm supporting as local, family business. This makes me feel good... And is worth all the quirks that makes this place less polished and shiny. read more

I'm not sure where Merigold Liquor gets its name. If it comes from the flower, it's spelled wrong and, since the owners appear to be middle eastern, I doubt that it's their last name. But the store is well-stocked and prices are good for a Kansas liquor retailer. The owners/employees are all pleasant though they don't seem very interested in coming out from behind the counter to help you find anything. There are certainly newer and cleaner liquor stores in the area but I keep coming back to this one. Go figure. read more

Be careful when purchasing liquor at this liquor store. They will sell expired beer. The beer may be expired only a week or it could be expired much longer. They have sold beer that expired over 1 year and they did not say one word about the beer being expired. If the price of the beer is cheap, check the expiration date. read more
