Blackberry cobbler with ice cream
rosemarie d.

Visited this restaurant during Covid Marilyn's is right next to a best western off the highway. It was busy but it was the service was good the food was hot and fresh and you could tell that it was made to order. If you get the cobbler with ice cream you might want to consider getting the ice cream on the side. Unfortunately it's a soft serve style ice cream and so it will melt really fast. The ribeye steak was nice and tender and tasted like they've seasoned it with garlic powder which I thoroughly enjoyed. The big potato came with sour cream and butter was already on the table. If you want cheese you're gonna have to ask for that. Soda came in a can which I was fine with. Everything was very good and I would definitely come back again

Very good food and service. The chicken fried steak was homemade and the bacon burger was just as expected! Great diner food!

So...I found this place on yelp and I liked what I saw. I was in the mood for some home cooking and this place fit the bill. The first thing I noticed was an abundance of truckers parked out front which I figured is a good sign cause them boys like to eat. Now my taste buds were singing "East bound and down, loaded up and truckin', We're gonna do what they say can't be done"so I decided to put the pedal to the metal and go all in with a chicken fried steak. That's right. It's a good thing it was covered in gravy cause it was kinda burnt. Not to mention a little on the smallish side. Maybe I should have put on peterbilt hat or something cause I feel a little skimped. It's too late now though. It did come with 2 sides and a salad so I got full but...the mashed potatoes shouldn't be the star of the show. Know what I'm saying. Overall a very solid mediocre meal. 2 1/2 stars ALL DAY LONG.

Super sexist menu.

Marilyn's is the definition of a greasy spoon. I walked into a panicked scene of one waitress handling every table in the joint. She did it was the grace of a swan and the ferocity of a T-Rex. It was amazing. I seated myself. I patiently waited and watched as each seat was emptied and almost immediately filled until the waitress finally came over. She arrived in a vortex that engulfed just the two of us. She had 101 things to do but in that moment I was her only concern. Her totally focus was on me. I ordered big. Annoyingly big. Hash-browns, omelette, toast, drinks, and another meal; a ribeye sandwich. Don't judge me. I was hungry. She took it all in stride and with a smile. The food took an appropriate amount of time to get to me. When it did it was the perfect fare. The ribeye sandwich was just greasy enough to make me question my life choices that had brought me to this point, but not so much that I didn't devour it. The omelette steamed a delicious smelling cloud in my face. I destroyed everything on that plate. It was great. Look. I don't know you and you don't know me, but, stranger, if you're ever in Mcalester, OK you need to eat at Marilyn's. It's 100% worth it. I mean, unless you hate sexism, then the menu will definitely piss you off.

O.k I know its hard to mess-up Breakfast, and this is in a hotel parking lot. But I have been there a couple of times for breakfast and they do a really good job! this place is clean, good service and they are friendly. it is a good place to stop for breakfast when you are on your way someplace and coffee is good and they keep you cup full! if you are heading south on highway 69 after you get passed the last stop light ,on the west side of the highway on the service road they have a little room for truck parking, it will be a little hard getting back out on the high way, but will worth the truoble...

Typical diner fare. Lots of grease. Bring your antacid. Good value for the price. Wide variety of food on menu.

This place sucks! Sweet tea tastes like old dirty water from washing machine. Service sucks, dirty looks and not personable at all.

Went with the Grilled Italian Sausage because pasta on top of pasta is just wrong. Grilled perfectly with a char on the ends! Really good flavor and pairs really well with the sketti/rav mixture. Meatballs cooked right with plenty of sauce. Definite leftover but why be greedy and ask for seconds just to take it home. Single person serving was way more than enough. Then again when my waiter brings extra meatballs and ravioli I am in heaven! Thought about dessert which is a toss up between the Cannoli and the Chocolate Devine. Think perhaps the Italian Creme Cake though. Italian Creme Cake to Go

The portions are huge so don't let the prices scare you. You can have a private room or opt to eat in the choc room like my husband and I did tonight. We ordered off the bar bites menu and got the anti pasta, salad, bread, spaghetti, meatball, ravioli, and lamb fries. All were cooked to perfection and so delish! We of course had to order a Prairie Artisan beer! Our favorite are the Tiny Esses flavors literally tastes like you're drinking a skittle! They not have tropical Esses and wildberry Esses. The server was so friendly and she was very accommodating! We will continue to patron Pete's place and encourage you to give them a try!

The little convenience store and bait shop known as TJs is a busy stop on the far north side of…read moretown for locals. But there's a little extra offered if you bring an appetite. I occasionally stop in for classic deli meat sandwiches on sliced bread. Let's be honest, we all know a plain ol' sandwich on light bread is way better when someone else makes it for you. I again had Oliver's Sandwich--it's not on the menu but it's buttered and toasted bread, topped with fried bologna, a perfectly fried egg, benefited by the addition of crisp bacon, then American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and dressed with both mayo and mustard. Like take me back home to the days of my summer youth!! So tasty and perfect for lunch! No sides were needed because its a big sandwich and is incredibly filling. Maybe room for improvement with a slice of cheddar instead of American but it's already so so good as is. TJs also has a menu offering a variety of options like different types of burgers (bacon, Swiss, patty melt, etc), hot sandwiches, a variety of cold sandwiches, and sides like tots or fries. I've before had a couple burgers and they've all been good, it's just this is my go to place for fried bologna sandwiches. The store has lots of drinks, chips, snacks, and hotbox items to choose from to accompany a meal. The ladies behind the kitchen counter are always accommodating and friendly, and they're quick to get the order made and served to the table if eating in. There's half a dozen tables near the cashiers counter that will seat up to 6-8 each. The tables are near windows so you can sit and watch outside too. It's busy, and there's most usually lots of people going in and out, getting fuel or bait. Stop for whatever is needed but if you desire a meal they certainly have worthwhile sandwiches.
