Eggs and pancakes were delicious and service was very friendly. Reasonable prices and quick service.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Not so hard to decide is which came first, Jimmy's Egg or the Original Egg. The Original Egg is not original. This place used to be a Jimmy's Egg's. I have never been in a Jimmy's Egg, so I am not sure if the new owners have changed the restaurant much. All I know is that the food and service is good. My standard breakfast less hashbrowns. The order does include 2 biscuits. My wife had the pancake platter; one egg bacon and three griddle cakes. Big plus, a bowl of warm syrup. The pictures can almost be tasted. Great meals and easy to access from the highway in either direction. read more

For all those who wondered the answer to the age old question, which comes first the egg or the chicken? Apparently we would have to say the egg given the name of this restaurant! It says it's the original egg. Of course I know what they're referring to because I've eaten at these restaurants for a while now. It's a very good chain and it's a very good restaurant and breakfast is excellent as are all the dishes that are offered. I highly recommend a visit. read more

We were driving through McAllister just happened to stop in and was thrilled with the appearance of the whole restaurant. We did not want breakfast so our lunch sandwich choices were great. I had the Cuban, my wife had the chicken sandwich with the avocado and she LOVED it. read more

The Original Egg is a fantastic breakfast and lunch spot. Every one of the staff treats you like you're special. They do follow up on tables like a team so someone is always in attendance with no waiting for refills, napkins or whatever you need. They do half price burgers and fries on Wednesday that is amazing food. This restaurant is ran right with a excellent wait staff with some of the best cooks or chefs in town. Stopped here on way home to Texas. was surprised at name change but very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! We had the Popeye Revenge omelette which was cooked perfectly. Delicious as were the generous serving of home fries and toasted English muffin. My husband liked the pancakes as well. Coffee was great, too and waitress kept cups full. This is a very basic Denny's like restaurant. The menu looked pretty decent but the product was lacking. My boyfriend ordered the Keto bowl, which was a bunch of random items on iceberg lettuce and spinach. It just wasn't good. The egg white omelet I ordered was incredibly small for the size and the fruit that came with it was still frozen. The only saving grace was the waitress, who was very attentive. read more

Our waitress, Desirae was delightful & checked to make sure everything was fine (I hope you got those new shoes broken in ) I got breakfast, the waffle was the best & hubby got a club sandwich w/ fries, cooked to perfection. Driving through we decided to try Jimmy's Egg for breakfast for the first time since they have non-pork options like Turkey Sausage and Corned Beef Hash. Hubby and I both got the two meat two egg combos. The food tasted great and the portions were generous! Our waitress was Brittany K. and she was fantastic and very attentive. She was obviously being trained by a manager and I almost gave a negative star because the manager was loudly correcting her from across the store so that you had no choice but to hear. Been here about 30 times since it first opened, and it has progressively gotten worse with each visit. The portions have shrank with each visit even though the price has remained expensive. They have a hard time cooking food thoroughly as well, with my hash browns being raw still. Finally, i've had to ask for extra sausage in my skillets because they think 7, dime-sized, pieces is plenty. I'll only be going to Steak 'n shake from now on. read more

To update my last review I decided to give this restaurant another try. It seems if you can get good service. I walked in around 8:30 and after getting my drink and telling me she would be right back I never saw her again. I will not be back no matter how hungry I am or how much of a hurry I am. Don't bother. Walked in sat down got cup of coffee ordered a drink. Last time I saw a waitress. I sat there 5 minutes waiting then got up a left. Whenever I'm in the beautiful heartland of America I'm looking for a Jimmy's Egg. I just love them. I just finished another amazing breakfast of eggs, ham steak and those indescribable cinnamon bun pancakes. I'm in McAlester OK where the service is always great and the restaurant clean. The waitress are always there keeping the coffee hot. If you haven't tried Jimmy's yet you owe it to yourself. The service is doo doo, I didn't get one refill the food is just average. If you do go, the cinnamon pancakes are very good if they don't leave them in window but if you want a good breakfast in McAlester I strongly suggest Heavenly Delights. read more

Six chances six dissapointments. On 3 out of 6 visits there was hair in our food. Not hard to believe when you look at all of the cooks with long beards and hair with no hair nets on. All of the times the potatoes were ice cold. Got charged for items we ordered and never recieved. Food gets delivered wrong and they never even come to check on you or fix it. Last time I will eat there. Management is lacking somewhere. read more

Good spot for a full breakfast! Jimmy's has various pancake choices. We tried the sweet potato pancake and the blueberry waffle. Both were yummy! The eggs and bacon were cooked as we requested and good tasting coffee! Would recommend! :) went to Jimmy's again on 11/2/17 and it is still good.
