One arrives at 5:58 the other at 6:21. Be warned the ferry is FAR from the train depot. I am a very fast walker and have come within seconds of missing the ferry almost every time. The ferry does not board at 6:30, it LEAVES at 6:30. There is allegedly a shuttle to connect the train to the ferry but it's nowhere to be found at this hour. I'm not sure who designed this terrible layover time but be warned if you are even the slightest bit slow you will miss the ferry.

Very scenic and enjoyable. We sat inside on the ride back which was really pleasant too and a lot warmer. My only complaint is when we got to the ferry at 10AM as the schedule said we were told it was a holiday and they were running on a holiday schedule so we had to wait an hour. We picked up the schedule at customer service and checked for return ride under the holiday/weekend schedule and it said 2pm. When we arrived a sign said 3pm. Really?? Get it together! So the whole outing took a lot longer than expected. Check the schedule carefully if you go -- but go -- it is a lovely ride.

However, they have a rule that you're not allowed to contact the driver directly at all. I've never been told not to contact a driver in all the services I've ever used for airport or other pick ups so this seems very odd. They gave me the driver's phone number, but sent me many admonitions never to contact him before during or after the service. I always like to make sure with drivers myself that they understand what time to pick up, that they need to wear a mask, etc., etc. So not being able to do this left me very frustrated and not sure I'd do the service again. UPDATE MGL responded that they only asked me to not contact the driver before the trip. That's not true they sent me several texts that literally say "do not contact the driver before or after the trip" and they went onto continue messaging not to bother the driver as he may be with other clients.

We have even had him pick up my boss's pre-teens at the airport on several occasions and we were absolutely comfortable they would not have any problems at the airport and they never waited and always could find their car without any problems - especially great at a very busy SFO. The only drawback is that to book Francisco you need to text him. Once you get used to doing this (as opposed to calling or emailing) it's very easy to get booked and confirmed. When he did not respond, I called and he confirmed that he had received my email and verified the date and time of my limo ride. About one week prior to my event, I called him again to confirm. He was confused, but finally found my information and also said he would text me with the limo driver's contact info. He never did and I didn't have a chance to re-confirm until the morning of. I was quite annoyed as I had planned my event well in advance and had several people counting on this transportation. He clearly knew I was mad and said he would check into it and call me back. Moments later I received a phone call from the limo driver himself, who said he did text me the day before, but it was the wrong number. According to the limo driver, he communicated this to the owner and suggested he contact me to straighten it out. He never did, but rather assumed the whole thing was cancelled. When I called the owner back to tell him what the limo drive told me, the owner claimed he didn't have my contact info., which is a lie as I had emailed him this information quite awhile back. This is a completely inefficient and incompetent company. Moreover, the owner was totally unapologetic and made absolutely no effort to try and make things right, none at all.
