I could use a "good morning" and a smile, especially before 7:30 am when I'm fresh off an hour BART ride and desperately need to finish waking up with some coffee and a breakfast sandwich @ 16 bucks a pop! Yes, the line was long -- but it moved quickly and smoothly, a true testament to how well the day was organized (they even had a bathroom attendant on site, which says a lot). We came ready to celebrate, and they delivered -- wine flowing by the glass and by the bottle, good energy all around. What we didn't expect was how easy it would be to settle in. My first time visiting the business. Very nice and clean place. Sunday was a very busy day due to the Black Joy Parade, which is understandable having a long line. My complaint is there were one of the business owners or employee standing around (tall, dark in statue) doing nothing for what I noticed, while the other two busy trying to serve the people to the best of their ability. I feel that if he would have been helping the line would have moved faster. That was not a good look especially while we trying to get in and out. Customer service is a plus to make a business successful. Remember, it is the Customers that is your business so strive to keep them happy. Marin's is a very cute place!! It was recommended to me from a friend and I decided to give it a try. I ordered the steak bites and eggs. The meal was very flavorful. The steak, potatoes, and eggs were all served in a bowl with a side of toast. The steak was slightly more cooked than I liked but it was so damn good. Service was good! The cafe is super adorable and looks like a great place to hang out or do work. You can tell they put a lot of effort into intentionally making the space work from the layout to having a lot of mounted power strips. The staff was friendly and the service was good. We were one of 3 seated guests when we went. The food was decent and the coffee was good. The seasoned potatoes were the best part of the burrito! I wish it had more eggs and the pico felt too herb heavy and tomato light for what I was expecting. My fiancé liked the turkey sausage and the waffle was crispy but didn't stand out. I would recommend getting one of the options with the seasoned potatoes. It was the most memorable part of my meal. read more

Finding breakfast and lunch in downtown Oakland has been hard. Especially since a lot of businesses has closed due to less traffic. Well I'm glad I gave this place a try and I hope this encourages you to take a chance on a new business. The place has an elevated modern style the warm colors of the decor was calming. The staff was so pleasant and attentive. From the cashier, to the chef from the persons in the kitchen. All very welcoming. I went two days in a row for the pan seared Salmon. It was delicious simple and with the price. The flavor was consistent both days. However my coworker thought it was too seasoned, so it really depends on your flavor preference. I had the best steak salad I have ever had. I had the Steak Mediterranean salad and it was the bomb. My only complaints are I would of liked more lettuce and the service was laking. Service was kinda slow for a salad and smoothie. Placed my order more than 30 minutes before they closed. And then I ran an errand around the corner. When I went to pick up my food up she forgot to make my smoothie. I had to ask for a refund, but because the quality of the Steak and dressing was really good I'm definitely giving them another try. read more

My staff rushed out on break to grab coffee. When they returned I found this divine French pastry at my desk! I don't know what it's called but I do know I have never had anything as delicious as this!! It was like a sweet, crunchy yet soft croissant. Very reminiscent of those palmier cookies. It was fresh and still warm, I savored every single bite! My taste buds were in heaven! I cannot wait to go for myself and find more deliciousness!! The bread was oh so soft, the components in the sandwich, an over easy fried egg, PERFECTION! I enjoyed every last bite, and let's not forget the Country style Potatoes, the amount of flavors that were tap dancing on my taste buds. The salmon was perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside--with a rich Cajun butter that added great flavor without being too heavy. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which everyone was raving about, and my husband ordered the steak bites with eggs, both were super good, flavorful and filling. I love the interior and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They have a bunch of different drink options but I love that they also have a coffee bar, one small recommendation is to have a coffee menu. But besides that you guys keep doing what you're doing!! I was walking over to a work meeting when I turned a street and saw Marin's Kitchen & Coffee on the corner. I had enough time to kill to stop by for a quick bite and coffee since I didn't have breakfast yet. Marin's was a cute cafe with a full kitchen. I picked up a chocolate kouign amann, which was deliciously buttery and flaky, but I would've definitely got a savory breakfast if time permitted. The staff members were really friendly and made my day with their hospitality and cheeriness. Their drinks come in regular and large sizes. The regular size was huge, so you get more bang for your buck. The vanilla almond milk latte was fine. It did taste watered down to me, but maybe I just prefer a really bold coffee taste. Reminded me of a home cooked meal - didn't skip out any of the flavors and the meal was a nice portion size The place recently opened; hence, they didn't have all of their coffee/tea options listed on a menu; however, the barista was very helpful! I tried the matcha with vanilla syrup and it was delicious. Better than a chain coffee spot. I'd rather support a local business. This is a black owned establishment which promotes other small businesses - I noticed locally owned products in there such as a sea moss drink brand and local privately owned water brand. Definitely plan to go back and try other food options. There is a breakfast menu and a different menu for lunch. They have wifi.
