The bulgogi omelette was the business!!! Wow.. so delicious. The loco moco was delicious too... there's a little surprise of a piece of spam in there.. there's gravy tastes legit, not like it came from a powder base. The spot is really small.. only 6 seats inside and a couple more outside maybe.. the service was quick and super friendly.. The next time I'm in town, I'd go back again for sure.

Quaint and friendly hole in the wall breakfast joint serving home style classics with an Asian twist! Got the loco moco and it was loaded! Very satisfying meal.

I visited Koffee Pot on a Saturday morning around 8:30/9:00 AM. It was already getting busy with a large party sitting outside and a few individuals inside. The family managing the business were incredibly attentive throughout my visit. They quickly took my order and served the drinks, and even took the time to chat a little while I was waiting. They were so sweet and kind to their customers, making it one of the best service experiences I've had at a mom & pop diner in Oakland! The food was amazing! The French toast had crispy edges with a sweet, soft bite in the middle. The waffle was equally impressive--crispy on the outside and soft like a puffy cloud on the inside. The loco moco was definitely the standout dish! The sauce had a unique flavor that I couldn't quite pinpoint, but it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back. Koffee Pot has found themselves a regular customer!

Great spot! Classic breakfast with lots of great flavor - can't get a breakfast like this anywhere on telegraph. Service is so friendly and kind - family and friends owned and operated. You can sit cozy inside or outside. Not great for big groups, but they will help you!

Great breakfast spot - although I would only come if you are with one other person. I've had this spot to-go and delivered multiple times and the breakfast sandwiches are always delicious and plenty of options. It reminds of eating in Hawaii - fusion food and the hash browns are clearly those frozen Micky D's style you can buy in a frozen section and the burger patty may or may not be from Costco but it all works. I decided on the Loco Moco since I had just worked out and how often can you find that? The plate was massive, Rice, burger, spam, gravy, eggs, pretty hard to create a heavier dish but the gravy wasn't too thick or heavy so it really helped the dish. Great flavor and eggs cooked perfect. My gf got the spicy pork bulgogi omelet, again how often can you find that? Really delicious, served with two hash browns and two slices of toast. The omelet was packed with the bulgogi, mushrooms, and peppers. Make sure you try something off their little hot sauce stand!

Such a great coffee spot - food is so delicious. I got the Crossaint III breakfast sandwich with bacon egg cheese and hashbrowns... so good. Their service is very quick and attentive and kind ^_^ prices are so reasonable - highly recommend this spot for a delicious breakfast and cup of coffee !

Koffee Pot on Telegraph between 25th St., 26th St. was fire. Super friendly. Serving breakfast until 1:30 on Saturday. I like the fact that the breakfast specials are just $13.50. You can get a waffle or French toast, bacon or sausage, and two eggs. I went for turkey sausage. Feeling crazy so I added an extra just for kicks. By extra I mean I got the waffle and the French toast. So I could check out both dishses. So basically I ordered an extra-special breakfast special for only $21.50. And an iced Vietnamese coffee for $5.50 was exactly what I needed a nice warm summer day. I walked the lake and went to my gym for a workout so I wanted to go big for breakfast. Food came out in a hurry too.The French toast stole the show. Scrambled eggs were good. The turkey sausage was all right. The waffle pretty good too. Not great, just not my style. More soft than crispy, so not quite my thing. But the French toast was all that! That's going to be my go-to when I need a quick, inexpensive brunch or breakfast in this part of town. Pro tip; you don't have to eat here to get an iced Vietnamese coffee to go. Such a perfect warm weather treat. If only to support a good local restaurant at a time with so many of them closing.

Still a lovely, local little hole-in-the-wall diner in the heart of downtown Oakland with a Hawaiian-Asian flare in dishes. My friend and I came in recently for brunch and shared a hardy, large order of Loco Moco with a side of Hash Browns. Safe to say, we could not finish everything but tried our best as to not waste. The price was fantastic for everything we got, which is hard to find in the Bay Area with rising inflation and cost of rent. Shoutout to the two young girls working in the shop that their family now owns (it seems that ownership has changed in the past year), Teresa and Mary! Thank you for shielding us from an unsavory regular in an altered mental state (unfortunately, not uncommon in Oakland).

I love this place and can't wait to go back!! I tried the bulgogi omelette which was very flavorful and the meat was very soft. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee which was so delicious! The perfect balance between sweet and better. Also the staff (maybe owners?) were so friendly and made sure to check on us to see if we needed anything and enjoyed the food. The place is a little bit small but it just adds to the experience! There's a few options to sit outside as well for a nice day!

I see why this place has a 4.6; well desevered. The food was warm when it arrived. Ordered the French Toast, Eggs and Bacon breakfast. The bacon was well done; not greasy, right amount of natural salt, not a lot of fat. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The French Toast was great and similar to the photos. I enjoyed it from home and will be ordering again. Very reasonably priced. Order came under 20 minutes. The deliverer arrived before the order was ready. Support more local and reasonable priced places like this one.

Yes! Also, it you don't see tables outside, ask for one. They will quickly set one up for you!

We went this morning (Tuesday) and they are closed. Anyone know why?

Is it really not open on Sunday?!?

We went on a weekday. They probably serve the business community and close on Sundays. It's a very tiny little restaurant.

MLK Cafe was perfectly located and exactly what I needed. I've never had Eritrean food before, so I was pretty excited. I ordered the foul meseleh ($13) from the breakfast menu (available all day though I had to ask for it), which was a bean-based dish, and chai. It kind of reminded me of shakshuka in terms of spices but the beans almost tasted meaty. I liked it so much that I brought it home, and my partner said it tasted like refried beans (though he did have them cold). The crusty warm bread was perfect for dipping, and I ended up not being able to finish it. The chai was pretty milky; there was a tea bag and the spices weren't very strong. Then again, I'm used to Indian chais. I would pass on the chai. There was basically no one else there on a Friday afternoon during off-peak hours. It was dimly lit and kind of chilly because the door was left open, so it wasn't the most comfortable cafe ambiance. The wifi did work well though and I would come back to try more Eritrean and Ethiopian food.

Inside wise, you can watch two tv's playing sports, our waitress/cashier was very kind, and it appeared like many locals hanging out. Only thing is their menu prices are out of date. All in all- took 32 mins. So again, if you have somewhere to be- order ahead! Food was good. Could definitely tell it was made fresh to order - not only because it took some time but because my friend cauliflower came out PIPING hot. Lots of oil drippings, so if that isn't your thing, may not be for you, but I will say that it was my fav bite. This was a good restaurant- I would say 4 stars for the food alone. BUT if you're in a pinch, either order online or maybe save this spot for when you have more time. Also- I know that good quality food is pricey, this place is no exception. But you pay for what you get and the quality is better than that of fast food.

As a result, it took a while for them to be able to stop by our table and provide water, take our order, etc. There was quite a long wait between sitting down to ordering to actually receiving our food. By the time we had actually received our food, almost an hour had passed. While we were waiting, a few other servers eventually joined, but service was still pretty bare for us and we never received refills on water or plates to eat off of when we received our food. I understand that staffing and a backup in the kitchen are out of the staff's control, but it would've definitely helped for us to know in advance how long to expect to wait to align our expectations and arrange our plans for the day. Would advise giving customers a quick heads up/warning because that on its own would've made a big difference. As for the actual food, we ordered the mac trio with elote mac, chicken pot pie mac, and kogi short rib mac (for an extra fee). The elote mac was the best and most flavorful, the short rib mac was okay but not amazing or worth the extra money, and the chicken pot pie mac was very bland/flavorless and didn't have much chicken in it. The food didn't feel like it warranted the wait time and because of that I would not return.
