Grabbed a quick lunch and some treats from Arizmendi over the weekend. Easy to find and they have a parking lot in the back of the building. Spots are tight and there's a skate park behind the parking lot so a lot of people rolling through the lot. There are tables to eat just outside the entrance and a small number of bar seats inside. They have a daily flavor + a cheese pizza each day and it comes in quarter, half or whole sizes, as well as fully cooked or partially. I tried a quarter of the olive, spinach, parm, and garlic pizza - it came out in two large slices wrapped in foil. It was amazing! The sourdough flavor was strong, the crust was crispy, and the flavor was amazing! I definitely want to come back for the arugula, onion, Gorgonzola, and balsamic flavor. I found the flavors of the week on their instagram. I also grabbed a snickerdoodle and cookie brittle from their self serve pastry and bread area. The snickerdoodle was soft and moist, but the cookie brittle was still the star! It's thin, chewy, and not overly sweet - so good! The pastries are about $3-4 each and the quarter pizza was about $7. Decent prices and nice service!

Got a quarter slice of pizza of the day, it was arugula, red onion & lemon oil, etc. Didn't care for it, got the wrong flavor, I'll have to try a different type, next visit.. You get 2 slices for a quarter size slice.

I was recommended by a friend to go try this place out because they have really good pizza. They also have bakery items like cookies, scones, bread, etc. I even saw in a refrigerated area with some hummus and salads. Now I'm a big time pizza lover. So I love all kinds of different pizza. I will say I thoroughly did enjoy this cheese pizza. I ate a whole large by myself and enjoyed every single bite to be honest. In my humble opinion it is around an 8 out of 10 cheese pizza which is really good in my book. The cookies were also enjoyable. They have only 2 different pizzas everyday, cheese and the vegetarian option of the day which changes everyday. It was my first time there so I only tried the cheese. Next time I will try a different option that they offer. Pro tip: there is parking lot behind the building if you can't find any in front.

Outstanding prices and friendly neighborhood vibes from this bakery. Known for flavor of the day pizza just like Cheeseboard. The prices here are really outstanding. Excellent value pizza by the slice - and I think a small discount if you buy two at a time or a half or whole pie. I went here on Superbowl Sunday and was very impressed with how this were orderly and functioning so well at peak demand. A line of people waiting and another line of people getting ready to order. Self help bread and dessert area that you visit before you reach the cash register. I think the plain bread here is the biggest highlight. Again super good value and very beautiful and fresh. I usually visit the store closer to where I live for getting that if I don't get ACME. The pizza I had by the slice was wrapped in foil very lovingly but I just didn't like the quality of the cheese and it didn't have the crunchy bottom or blackened air bubbles that is my preference. Not saying anything is necessary bad - just not my cup of tea. Nearby is the Oaks Card Club and the tiny but functional skate park and Pixar - other points of interest if your in the area.

Their pizza never fails to amaze me. Always delicious, fresh ingredients. The cost is less than $4 a slice. I'm usually a meat and veggie pizza person, but I never miss the meat with their slices. Here's What I Think...Definitely make the trip for a wonderfully satisfying slice of pizza.

Arizmendi is an outstanding bakery that also has phenomenal pizza! What's unique about their pizza is that they make one kind of pizza every day ! ( they're closed Monday & Tuesdays). They also have a wonderful selection of delicious breads, muffins, scones and cookies. Please check their website since they make different breads every day! In addition to their baked goods and pizza, they also sell prepared salads, hummus and homemade soups!

I've been to the Arizmendi Emeryville location many times, so this is the culmination of multiple visits. They sometimes have seasonal or limited time items (often for holidays, such as Ramadan) and a different scone of the day. There is a bathroom customers can use as well. You can park in the parking lot next to the shop. - Date ma'amoul (limited edition item): It reminds me of shortbread or Danish cookies that have jam in them. It was sort of similar to a sugar cookie but it's a semolina butter cookie with powdered sugar; good if you have a sweet tooth. - X-roll with carrot and red onion: I liked it, it was actually a lot cheesier than I expected, so I didn't taste as much of the carrot, but I don't mind that since I prefer the savory flavors of cheese and red onion. - Cauliflower with berbere spice, green onions, feta, mozzarella with crispy chickpeas and olive oil (a pizza flavor): I really liked the chickpeas, but wish there were more. I think having more vegetables would help balance out flavor since overall it mostly tasted like a cheesy bread. - Zaatar focaccia square: It was pretty good, if anything I think it could use more za'atar. You might like it if you would prefer manakeesh to be thicker and fluffier. - Special cheese roll with fennel, corn, spinach: The cheese roll was alright. I wish it was crispier and had more seasoning and spices. - Arugula, gorgonzola, walnut, balsamic vinaigrette, red onion, also known as the "salad pizza" (a pizza flavor that fairly regularly comes up in their rotation): It was quite good the first time I had it - savory, juicy, and the balsamic vinaigrette really added to the flavor without making it unpleasantly sour. I couldn't really taste the arugula. But on two other occasions that I'd tried it, it wasn't as good; one of the times, the bread was undercooked, the arugula was really dried out, and there wasn't enough balsamic vinaigrette, so it seems maybe the consistency could be improved. - Lemon poppyseed muffin: This was vegan, and I felt like it was lacking something - maybe they needed something to make up for the dairy since it was pretty meh. I thought it didn't have enough poppyseed either. - Pear ginger walnut scone: I'm not a fan of the actual ginger pieces because they come off as too strong to me, but overall it was tasty. I liked the sugar and the scone's texture being crunchy but not unpleasantly hard. - Rosemary garlic potato bread roll: This was good, savory, you can taste the herbs. - Apple sage roll: A little sweet, and it didn't really stand out to me flavor-wise. - Corn blueberry muffin: It tasted like a cross between cornbread and a standard blueberry muffin. It was decent but I would not consider it to be among the best cornbreads I've had in my life.

I miss having this pizza! I've never had a bad flavored pizza from here. When you look at the menu & ingredients, you think to yourself like whaaat..but then you try it and it's so delicious! The service is always great & they have good pastries too!

I'm a longtime fan of Arizmendi Emeryville. I keep coming back for everything from their delicious daily pizzas to breads to scones to soups. This coop has great service, friendly, patient worker-owners, and is great for a pit stop inside for coffee and a pastry (seating is limited to barstools but you get to watch the pizzas get made) or equally entertaining to people & car watch from their benches outside that overlook busy San Pablo Avenue out front or the skate park out back. But I'm here now to throw some love towards a more rare Arizmendi sighting that comes for just the briefest time each year: their Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Mooncakes. For a couple of weeks sometime mid-September to early-October, you can find these petit pastries on the shelves at the Emeryville location (although they may also be available at other Arizmendi shops, but I can't confirm). Made with a lotus seed or red bean paste filling surrounded by a thin, flakey, and slightly buttery/oily pastry, Arizmendi mooncakes are yummy, not overly sweet, and they pair beautifully with a tea or coffee. Mooncakes are part of Mid-Autumn Harvest Moon Festival that I celebrate with my husband. Their round, full-moon shape and stamped symbolism helps remind us of unity, harmony, and family. I love any cultural tradition that centers on food, and especially if that food is a pastry. Get your fill while you can, but be warned they sell out fast!

Every dish we ordered had that rich, savory, "where's the meat?" flavor... but it's all vegetarian. The just made steamed buns came out soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor, with that slightly sweet and savory filling that hits immediately. Simple, but done right. The pan-fried dumplings had that perfect golden crisp on the outside and juicy filling inside. I kept reaching for "just one more"? Yeah... that good. And the standout for me? The sweet and sour "chicken." Crispy pieces coated in that glossy, tangy sauce with bell peppers and pineapple... it looked like your classic takeout dish and tasted just as satisfying. Everything came out fresh, hot, and well-seasoned. No bland bites anywhere. Service matched the food. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and even suggested adjustments based on what was made fresh that day. He was not wrong! Parking is street parking on a one-way street in downtown Oakland, right on the edge of Chinatown. Pricing was very reasonable for the amount of food we got. We ordered multiple dishes, left full, had a doggy bag and felt like we got a great deal. 10/10 for the entire experience.

They are open again!!…read more I visited Millennium the day of the re-opening in June 2026. I was so happy to find out that the food is still among the best food I've eaten, vegan or not. The new concept is prix fixe dinners on the heated, covered patio, and à la carte inside for walk-ins. I ordered from the à la carte menu and it was awesome. So easy. So delicious. My table ordered the cascatelli pasta, smoky glazed tempeh, coriander & arborio crusted oyster mushroom, and for dessert the summer sundae and chocolate tart. We were sharing so I got a taste of everything. Just amazing. It tastes just as good as before but feels much more approachable and affordable with the new concept. And you can still get the fine dining experience if you want it. I can't wait to go back on a Tuesday to try the pizza. I've heard it described as the best vegan pizza in the Bay Area by people who know what good pizza is, and I can't wait to try it. All food is vegan, and almost everything is gluten free.

Back then, it was located on the main floor of a hotel on Geary St. in the heart of Union Square, back when downtown SF was a bustling and busy epicenter of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there, I went back for all my special occasions: anniversaries, birthdays, celebrations. One day, the lease was up, and you found your new permanent home in Oakland. The vibes and atmosphere changed, but the food remained just as iconic. Unfortunately, it was now at least 1 hour commute for me by public transportation, so I stopped going consistently. Now, you are closing your doors after 30 years of serving your vegan community. Some say that it is another casualty of the decline of veganism. Some say that it was inevitable. But I say, give me a list of restaurants in the Bay Area that have survived 30+ years, even with a cross-bay relocation. And ESPECIALLY for a vegan restaurant. I call that a success. I went for the last time this week and ordered the 5-course chef's tasting menu PLUS 2 additional appetizers. As expected, everything was absolutely delicious. Those crusted fried mushroom appetizers are so divine. The BBQ Tempeh melted in your mouth. I will miss it all so. There have been too many times in recent years when my favorite vegan restaurant announces its closure, and I've been heartbroken one too many times. Wishing the staff of Millennium all the best and that this isn't the final chapter. I look forward to what Chef Eric Tucker and his team will do next, and we will be there to support you all when that happens.

There are exactly zero seats in this establishment, which I'm fine with because most of the time I'm getting RRV off of DoorDash, and the rest of the time I'm taking it to my nearby home anyway. Don't expect to lounge around and soak up the atmosphere in here is what I'm telling you. That's fine. The lake is right there. I'm a somewhat new pescatarian who also seems to be getting more and more lactose intolerant as I age, so I'll happily eat vegan to avoid the perils of cheese and cream. I grew up in a Mexican-American household, and since a typical Mexican restaurant is so meat and dairy centric, I was worried I'd be forever relegated to shrimp and fish burritos sans dairy and porkless nopales forever if I needed a fix. I've come to enjoy RRVs plant based dairy and meat alternatives quite a bit. The cauliflower surprised me. It isn't wearing a cheeky wink wink nudge nudge meat costume, it's just straight up crispy (breaded?) cauliflower. Great in tacos. Now for the Rico Rico MVP, the green sauce. Some variant of the newly trendy (thanks for that Cheeseboard, sincerely, more green sauce is a great thing) but steadfast staple of taquerias and Mexican food grocery aisles forever, I've used leftover packets on anything from ramen to pizza. I especially love that they don't use dairy or seed oils in their dressings. I often get all veggie bowls and they are super filling. Much of the menu is also Daniel Fast- friendly

I will say, if you have somewhere to be *ORDER ONLINE*. I got there and was told to order from the self serve tablet (I could have done this on my phone ahead of time), but I put in my order and sat down to wait for it. At the 22 min mark, the two groups of two behind me got their food before I did, so I went up to the worker behind the bar and asked if my order was ready and I was told mine would be next. All in all- took 32 mins. So again, if you have somewhere to be- order ahead! Food was good. Could definitely tell it was made fresh to order - not only because it took some time but because my friend cauliflower came out PIPING hot. Lots of oil drippings, so if that isn't your thing, may not be for you, but I will say that it was my fav bite. This was a good restaurant- I would say 4 stars for the food alone. BUT if you're in a pinch, either order online or maybe save this spot for when you have more time. Also- I know that good quality food is pricey, this place is no exception. But you pay for what you get and the quality is better than that of fast food.

From the moment I sat down, the warm glow of the dining room, lively energy, and inviting aromas drifting from the kitchen set the tone for an exceptional evening. The cocktails were outstanding. The Ojos Así was beautifully balanced, with bright, refreshing notes layered over deeper, more complex flavors that unfolded with each sip. Its vibrant presentation and fragrant aroma made it as enjoyable to admire as it was to drink. Equally impressive was the Y El Hombre Caimán, a bold and expertly crafted cocktail bursting with character, combining rich flavors and a silky texture while remaining remarkably approachable. Both were the kind of cocktails that make you slow down, savor every sip, and appreciate the artistry behind them. For the main course, the Costilla Negra was the star of the table. Perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy, the short rib featured a beautifully caramelized exterior that gave way to tender, flavorful meat. Each bite delivered a satisfying balance of richness and refinement, while the thoughtfully plated accompaniments added contrasting textures and complementary flavors that elevated the dish even further. What truly elevated the experience was the service. Rhi, tending bar, was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the cocktail program. Her recommendations were spot on and added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. She is a true master at her craft. Jackie, our server, was equally fantastic--warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel like valued guests throughout the meal. Parche combines exceptional Colombian cuisine, creative cocktails, and hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. Between the vibrant atmosphere, beautifully presented dishes, and memorable flavors, it's the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be such a joy. I will absolutely be returning. One of my most memorable experiences in Oakland.

We ordered the: -chicharrons: super delicious, the pork was crispy and paired well with the pickled toppings. I'm usually not a fan of yuca fries but theirs was crispy and tasty! -crispy plantains: the plantains came out fresh, super crispy and pairs extremely well with the condiments that was offered altogether. -steak: ordered off the larger sides, the steak was cooked to medium rare and tasted delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert but we'd love to come back for future dinners and/or celebrations. Our server was also fantastic and offered 2 glasses of bubbles on the house to celebrate.

The two of us ordered the Fiery Beef and Spicy Noodles and both I would highly recommend. The Fiery Beef was extremely tender with great flavor, my favorite of the two. Things changed: more breading on the chicken (spicy crispy chicken) and reduced protein in some of the other dishes, too. But the flavors still hit and its popularity hasn't dimmed much on the nights I've gone over the last few years. I bought their cookbook years back but much of what I like isn't in it, so I keep coming back for the food and community vibes. There is a communal table, which I appreciate though I tend to sit at the bar when I go alone. It's worth it to get a view of what's happening all around you. The B S in Alameda doesn't have the same energy or coziness, but it is easier to access with safer parking (now windows broken there but I've had that here and been hassled walking to/from) and dramatically shorter waits. The diversity of the diners is much lower than this one though (Alameda is still mostly old white people) and the menu has more options here, so I'll continue to return again and again and recommend it to others ... and hope to not have to replace car windows.
