We've been to Marina Café so many times, and I realized I've never actually written a review! We went for dinner with a group of 10 and had a reservation for 6:30. We sat inside with a beautiful view of the water. The vibe is quiet, waterfront and a little upscale, although with three kids, I'm pretty sure we were the ambiance that night . Our servers have known us for years and the service was great as always. We ordered approximately 7,000 appetizers lol. The rice balls are a MUST. They're small, crispy, served with honey and one of our favorites. Honestly, order your own because you're not going to want to share. The crispy rice with tuna was also outstanding--fresh tuna piled on top of perfectly crispy rice. We also had baked clams, flatbread, a summer salad and house salad, and everything was fresh and good. For my entrée, I got the zuppa di pesce with the spice held. The seafood was fresh without tasting fishy at all, and the tomato-garlic broth was delicious. The portion was HUGE. I'd absolutely order it again, but next time I'm sharing it with someone... especially after my 7,000 appetizers. Around the table, everyone was happy. The blackened mahi-mahi with coconut rice was delicious, the veal chop special was so tender my dad practically licked the plate clean, the penne vodka with shrimp was excellent, and the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes were a hit too. Even the kids were covered with chicken tenders, fries and buttered pasta. We finished with crème brûlée, chocolate and vanilla ice cream, lemon sorbet and raspberry sorbet. No complaints anywhere! It's definitely on the pricier side, but the waterfront view, consistently good food and wonderful service are why we've been coming here for years. read more

This is the second bad experience I had at Marina Cafe. May 2026 my wife and I celebrated our anniversary. They sat us next to a 20 top. Loud and noisey. The food was good but said we would give it another chance. Today we were celebrating my daughters birthday. Poor service, food lukewarm and cold, over crowded with large parties surrounding our table. They forgot the ricotta salada on the Rigatoni Vincenzo dish and there were NO cherry peppers on my pork chop. Again loud, no attention to our needs. One hour between apps and entree. (Asked three times for a glass of wine). Waitstaff breaking down & setting up large tables right next to us during our dinner. We skipped dessert and coffee. Had it at home to avoid another hour wait. We are NOT going back. BTW the waiter Kevin or the Maitre'd never stopped by our table to see if everything was ok. I think they could do better. read more

There were a few bees buzzing us but I know there's not much they can. Do about that. We did not order alcohol. Definitely like this place and will come back soon. read more

Went for lunch. Had some apps and a salad. Really wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and have a drink as well. Apps were great, crab cakes, Italian egg roll, and the Caesar salad. The white pie was mediocre. However the service was horrendous. Don't know if she forgot about us or is just bad at her job. Wasn't even able to get her attention for plates or another drink. First time to this marina, drove a little over and hour from Nassau County Garden City yesterday to get there around 12:45pm. Yesterday was Mother's Day and I did not have a reservation, I randomly picked this place to have a lunch with my wife and kids. I went inside and since I didn't have reservations they suggested outdoor dining instead and we were perfectly fine with that. The sun came out and it was absolutely beautiful view, between the boats and water and houses near by I really enjoyed the scenery. We sat near the water; since there were other tables available towards the back for people who didn't want to sit close to the edge. It is kid friendly and has space to accommodate big parties with reservations ahead of time. We were 4 and got seated right away after walking outside the dining area for indoor. Valet parking is included with the restaurant and that was nice since it was busy and the parking lot is shared with boaters and others just enjoying the area. We ordered coke , Shirley temples and one of their special margaritas for drinks. Unfortunately the coke was not tasting the way it was supposed to, it had a bitter taste maybe it was flat, maybe the server gave us diet but we got it replaced 2x and still not difference between the replacement cokes. We all got Shirley temple's instead. Service was pretty good, server helped us take our order and then had bus boys pick up our dishes as we finished them. We had blue point oysters, little neck clams, and the lobster & crab sliders - they were to die for "delicious" as main entree we ordered the stuff chicken breast and the filet of sole franchise; both were delicious and highly recommend!! This staple restaurant is a classic in Staten Island. Came to the tiki bar to sit outside and catch the breeze. Our waitress (wish I remembered her name) was super friendly gave great recommendations and followed through with checkups. We started with calamari (a little cold) and the lobster and carb sliders (no food presentation) then ordered the tuna steak and salmon, they were cooked well and taste was good, they were able to substitute the sides. I didn't like the paper plates and plastic cup service. This is a tiki bar so there was a crowd on the younger side but played the music at a decent volume for patrons to hear one another during dinner. read more

The food and service here are always exceptional! Honestly, everything I had was a favorite. I'm not usually a fan of risotto, but I loved that they offer the option to substitute it with mashed potatoes. For dessert, I had a cappuccino with Baileys and a crème brûlée--OMG, that was the highlight of my meal! The crab cake, while not very flavorful on its own, was saved by the delicious sauce it rested on. I'm not sure if the potato crust overpowered it, but it didn't quite stand out. While the restaurant was mostly empty, the hostess seated guests right next to each other instead of spacing tables out, which took away from the experience. Having to overhear nearby conversations made it less enjoyable than it could have been. The waiter's service was generally good. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The shrimp cocktail was fine, but it's also hard to get wrong. The salads were mediocre and didn't taste particularly fresh. The steak was undercooked, and the use of vegetable oil was noticeable and detracted from the flavor. Given the prices, the overall quality simply doesn't justify the cost. We had reservations but still had to wait a while but we were understanding being it was Valentine's Day. The food was fresh and vibrant I ordered the seafood pasta with the Diablo sauce which was very tasty but I thought the shrimp was overcooked. Great food! Ate at tiki outside yesterday at like 10 pm. We shared the pizza, mozzarella coins , and rice balls. The cheese pull was great and they tasted so good. Pizza is very thin not amazing. Inside I've eaten to and the food is so good. I love the marina. We got strawberry margaritas too they were not strong tasted ok. I ate there in June to I got the salad and added chicken which is really good too. It's right on the water so it's a nice view. Came here for your typical Saturday early dinner vibes was told no menu substitutions on the weekend, so I didn't order food as I couldn't get my regular order, so instead ordered a side of fries, another person at the table asked for a side of honey mustard was told to use the one in another plate that is on the table. My waitress was absolutely not helpful accommodating or recommending. Also the bus boys have no idea what is going on or what table the food is going to, had to get their attention after circling the area with our food to let him know it was ours. Pretty disappointing as this is typically my go to spot for nice days unsure if I will be returning again. I'm almost convinced they don't have a chef on premises and the kids that serve you make the food in the back , that's how awful the food is Like Beyond awful even things you'd say to yourself " they can't possibly mess this dish up" guess what inedible!! The drinks were horrible too (the ones that were brought to our table - can't judge the ones that are made at the bar. That's also the reason the crowd is in the early 20s because they don't really care about quality at that age. This place could make more money with a more spendable crowd if they only got an actual chef ! This food was absolutely delicious!!! My first time at the marina cafe outdoor seating tiki bar. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious. The eggroll appetizer was absolutely delicious but it was disappointing that it was just one for $14. I thought it would have been at least 2 or maybe 3 at most. Thats pretty expensive for an appetizer. But it was absolutely delicious. The fried calamari was so good and it was served with marinara sauce and chipotle aoli sauce which was out of this world!!!! The cheeseburgers were a HUGE portion and were absolutely flavorful. We came on a Friday night and it was a 45 min wait but it was well worth it. The views from the table were unbelievable. We loved the ocean view and boat view and we were able to watch the sunset while eating. I do have to say if you a person with a wide structured body the chairs are a bit tight and uncomfortable. Came here with a group of friends for a birthday and boy are we glad we did. There is valet parking or you can park yourself. We did have a reservation, they brought the best bread with even better spread. We started off with some sangria and a variety of apps which were all out of this world! My favorite was the rice balls and calamari! We all had different entrees, I had the seafood risotto, this had to be the best risotto I have eaten. Each bite had some type of seafood and the balance of cheese could of not been more perfect. We finished off with the drunken bananas for dessert and that perfect as well. Looks can be deceiving... cool feel and ambiance, but not what I expected. This high-end restaurant is located on the marina for some cool views of the water. Also located next to a cool outdoor bar for those summer nights of fun in the dark night. When I walked in I thought this would live up to it's looks. Even the digital menu with pictures of all the dishes made me excited and got me very hungry... but, I was not pleased with any of my dishes. I really thought the food wasn't anything spectacular and did not leave me wow'd... expect for the bill. That left me very wow'd! The staff was attentive and accommodating. Called ahead for reservations for 4 people, was told we didn't need one. Once we got there, we were miss informed as then advised we should have made a reservation. After a heated conversation, we got our seats, but it should not have be that way. Once seated and the food came to the table we ordered some seafood dishes it was fair a bit over cooked on the lobster. But the shrimps and clams was good. The Atlantic salmon could have been better, however the crispy-ness and seasoning was good. The seafood risotto wasn't bad, the rice was over boiled. The shrimp and spaghetti was actually good. Enjoyed a bottle of white wine from Napa Vally with the food & for desert chocolate cake & ice-cream cappuccino which was also good. The area being in dock-style indoor and outdoor ambiance, providing well staffed and for large or small guest. Best seats are by the windows when inside or by the dock when outside. I can't recommend this place enough. We had the repast for my mother-in-law for 50 people. It was a breeze to book. Gave an estimate of how many guests and time two days before, closer estimate the morning of. We were an hour and a half earlier than my estimated time, they seamlessly had it all set up already! I am so torn on what to rate Marina Cafe. The positive: Despite low expectations, the food was actually really good!! We got the seafood sliders (forget what they were called exactly), crab cake, and shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were ok but everything else was really really good. The drinks were strong but tasty. The view: this is what you're really here for. Gorgeous marina and sunset views, no photos do it justice. The staff and fellow patrons: friendly, helpful, and fun. Make conversation with you and are having a good time. Here's where the 1 star experience comes in: COVID-19 and staff aren't wearing masks? The man who greeted us was not wearing a mask, or any facial covering. Our waitress was wearing a very small face/chin guard, no chance it was that effective. I question if menus are getting wiped down between customers (they're most likely not). There were covid violations left and right. Come on, how hard is it to ask and enforce that all staff wear a mask? If it wasn't covid I'd give this establishment 5 stars, but at this point I think 3 will suffice. Hopefully they get it together sooner rather than later. Also note: this place had their liquor license suspended due to covid violations. If you plan to come here for drinks I recommend calling first to see if they had their license reinstated. read more
