We went in recently with an odd request for a friend who was laying to rest her husband at a nearby funeral home. The staff was so friendly, compassionate and helpful. They helped make our friends night a little easier. I have eaten here in the past and the food is always fresh, and delicious. Drinks are made well, and the staff is super sweet! Dubee's...O'Brien's- if you're from Tottenville, that's what you remember in this spot. And if you're from Tottenville and don't try Dani's, you're doing yourself, and the neighborhood a disservice. When I first heard what it was becoming, I was skeptical. But I'm always willing to try someplace new, as well as support small businesses in the neighborhood. My mistake was waiting so long to try Dani's. And to be fair, had my wife not read amazing reviews, I may have forgotten that I wanted to try it. Growing up, Tottenville was nothing but bars and churches. Everyone had their favorites, but were welcome in all. Walking into Dani's brought me back to Dubee's, albeit briefly. It's small, but extremely comfortable- not cramped. You're greeted warmly, and on the Thursday evening I went, there wasn't a wait for a table. Even if there had been, the bar can accommodate many. And it'd be worth the wait. We started with the Hot Antipasto for Two- Clams Casino, Baked Clams, Shrimp, mushrooms...outstanding- every last bite. I had the Fettucine Carbonara for dinner. I like Carbonara from three places- Dante's & Luigi's in S. Philadelphia, my wife's kitchen, and Dani's. Super flavorful, rich, but not overwhelmingly heavy. My wife had the Stuffed Shrimp with Crabmeat, and said it was perfect. Dani's really is a hidden gem. They're competing with two Italian places on the block alone, and to me, ante the clear cut winner. A credit to Tottenville. Can't wait to go back! read more

Decided last minute to make a reservation and they accepted. Wipes sweat from forehead. I have been wanting to take my boyfriend here for a while. We headed over and got seated right away. He said this is such a tiny place, but I said it had a powerful kick to it. We sat down and was greeted by our waitress Gina right away. We ordered arugula salad to share. We then were enjoying it so much we forget we didn't even order. Gina was delightful, she was on point all night. Drinks, food and laughs all came with the service. We then ordered gnocchi with the filetto di pomodoro ( UNBELIEVABLE and the absolute best he ever tasted) and I ordered the linguine and white clams. This little place is AMAZING. Real, authentic Italian food. Super flavorful, and the staff is lovely. My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. Got to walk in and air right down. Mom and pop type of restaurant! Small, but awesome. It's everything you want in a restaurant, great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. The owners are always there and let me tell you they are awesome people. The portions are good for one person, nothing was big enough to split. Dani's Italian Bistro a small family owned restaurant restaurant in Staten Island. The best of restaurants is when the owner is the chef those are my favorite to dine at. This restaurant also had a really nice intimate atmosphere, and it's the perfect date spot or just a great place if your looking for a delicious authentic Italian meal. I had the Mozzarella en Carrozza appetizer which was good, but I prefer mine with less breading. The sauce it came with was excellent though, and I scooped whatever was left with my spoon! I ordered one of the dinner specials of the night which was the striped bass over broccoli rabe risotto in a marinara sauce. I was quite impressed with that dish! They gave such a generous piece of striped bass here! It was absolutely delicious! The marinara sauce was to die for, and the fish was cooked to perfection! I loved that it came over such a delicious broccoli rabe risotto as well! You can tell the chef put a lot of love in that dish! They had a great selection of house made desserts here, and I ended up choosing the apple crumb cheesecake. It was so good! When I received my bill I was surprised how low the prices were too which was another plus! The generous piece of striped bass I was served was only $29! Just to note I've been to the restaurant across the street before DeLuca's, and Dani's Italian Bistro blew them away with their food, reasonable pricing, service and atmosphere! They also had a nice selection of filet mignons on their menu for only $31 as well. Service was excellent, and the owners are warm and welcoming. I highly recommend dining here! read more

This was such an adorable and delicious italian restaurant. It was small but with a lovely warm atmosphere. The staff were very nice, attentive but not overbearing. I ended up ordering a fettuccine alfredo and baked clams and both were delicious. Loved it! We are from the Noeth Shore and never knew of this hidden gem. It is definitely my new favorite place to eat.

I've been coming here forever. One of the two Italian restaurants I'll consistently go to (Dani's and Piccolino's). Dani's is still the best on the island. What a wonderful place! My lovely girlfriend and I came across this fine establishment while dining at another restaurant on the same street. This lovely, intimate bistro is tucked away ever so gently. Yet it's pull i's very strong. When causally walking by you are drawn to the dimly lit interior and just need to know what's inside. Once inside you are greeted with the aromas of fine wine and food that us being served among its dozen or so tables. The dining room and bar ara are so nicely decorated. A lot of time and effort was put into the decor. Even the high ceilings are nice. The food and service are excellent. The menu has plenty of variety and the specials are special. The wait staff is very attentive, kind and couterous. This was truly a great find for fine dining on those nights we want to go out but not venture very far from home. read more
