Visited on Valentine's Day and enjoyed their 4-course fixed menu. I've never spent much time in Staten Island, but passing through from a preview event in Brooklyn, I decided to give it a try--and I'm glad I did. The restaurant has a cozy yet upscale vibe, perfect for an intimate evening. The food was excellent, our server Sergio was pleasant, attentive, and offered great menu recommendations, and they even had a DJ playing music, which added a really nice touch to the atmosphere.

This is a Grown & Sexy hole in the wall ! I loved the decor & aesthetic. There's valet parking but we did street. The upstairs is kinda small , Downstairs is a bit more spacious. My lychee martini was good it was just spritzier than normal. My entree (pasta ) was tasteless. I mostly enjoyed the chicken appetizer & bread. Service was great, & they made my pre birthday dinner feel special

Where to begin? First time here. Valet is available and there is a bouncer it is 21 and over. They had a dJ playing freestyle music. Food was good. Small menu. Service was good. The only reason I am not giving them a 5, they only have wine and sangria. I wanted a Martini. Nope. I believe our server said they are waiting on liquor license? How do you not tell anyone there is no hard liquor served? Very weird. Food was good I will come back when they have liquor. It is right on st marks place. Also there is a unisex bathroom.

Had reservations for a Sat night for 7:30. We arrived around 7:15/20ish. Hostess told us they were full downstairs, but we were able to be seated on the main level which was fine. Very intimate, it def gave the aesthetics, I believe one restroom as I saw people coming from downstairs to use the bathroom in the main floor. Many cute spots for pictures. DJ i believe is downstairs and had a good mix going. Service: was ok. I only saw maybe 2 servers and they both looked like they were also working downstairs and the main floor. So they were busy which meant a lot longer time to get to our table. It took a long time for water refills. Took a while for food to come out as well. Idk if it's cause it's only 2 servers from what I saw. Food: apps we ordered were delish! The chef even came out to give us some complimentary apps which I thought was so nice. Short rib buns--a must order. Sooo good. I tried the octopus as well--the char on that bad boy was amazing! Now for the entrees--not what I expected. I ordered the mussels as my entree. The bread was burnt that was served with it. The broth was bland. No flavor which was so disappointing. At least throw some salt and pepper, but tasted like nothing. A good amount of mussels were served, but in a flavorless sauce. Ugh so disappointing. My friend ordered the Spicy Rigatoni which i thought the pasta would be Rigatoni, but they must of gotten the order wrong and they brought out the pappardelle ragu. We didn't realize it since we were so hungry and the food took a while to come out. She wasn't a fan of it. I tried a piece and also not a fan. Nothing stood out for it. They were nice enough to do a birthday thing for my friend. It was chocolate mousse, again nothing to it. I will say if you come here be prepared to stay more than 2+ hrs. We didn't leave till about 10:30 as we were waiting for the food and the check. I will say, that I'd come back to try more of the menu since this establishment is new and those short rib buns sold me!

Best upscale dining experience in Staten Island that rivals NYC. Excellent service, beautiful decor, delicious food, presentation. The DJ reads the room and knows just what to play. We will definitely be back. Server Miguel was fantastic.

I came for restaurant week with a friend. We sat on the first floor. Low lighting, airline could since it's by the door, and the dj was great. I ordered the burrata and tomatoes app, chicken picatta entree and churri dessert. My friend got the meatball app, steak frites entree, and tiramisu dessert. They come out with little fried cheese balls and focaccia bread. They were both so good. The meatball app is amazing. The meatballs were well seasoned. They burrata and tomatoes were good. The portion was big enough for two people. Now here's where everything goes down hill. The chicken picatta comes on the bone. I would've rathered cutlets. The chicken just tasted like oil. I could barely get the meat off the bone. The mashed potatoes asparagus and gravy were the best part of the dish. My friend ordered his steak medium well. It came out burnt and extremely well done. So well done it was dry and tough. A good portion of it was fatty too. By this time the place is getting busy. They have one waitress working the bar, the first floor and the basement. Way too much for one person. Now we've been in for awhile so we wanted to take our dessert and get the check. We hadn't seen her in awhile and then she comes out with the desserts. So we say ok we'll eat them real quick. The churros were not good at all. Just fried dough. My friend was saying his tiramisu was wet. He pressed down on the cake and water came out. It was disgusting and the coffee was overbearing.

Everything was exception. Chef Carlos Rodriguez Lima brought the food out, the staff opened the door upon arrival and drinks arrived fast. This is one of the BEST RESTAURANTS I've BEEN TOO! Food, service and quality is 10/10. Thank you Bota for an exceptional experience!

This place is a hidden gem. Upon arriving, Maria made our family feel more than welcomed with her engaging personality. From the appetizers to the main course and sangria they truly knocked it out of the park. We would describe Bota as having character, kudos to the owner for her wonderful taste in decor, we loved it!!! It was our first but definitely won't be our last time at your place, continue your great work!!!

Place is really nice, comfortable, chic decor. Everyone that assisted us was friendly and professional. Food was very pricey but pretty good. We shared the short rib steamed buns and the charcuterie potato croquettes. The short rib buns were delicious. Best thing we tried. Charcuterie croquettes were nothing special. We expected something along the lines of charcuterie ingredients but it was basically potato croquettes n pastosa's are better. Also we were given an app which I can't remember the name of, 2 little fried balls which were tasty. We shared chocolate lava cake which was good. Both of us only had water and w tip it was $33 each. Expensive for 2 apps n a pice of cake at lunch time.

I was being taken out for my belated birthday, and I asked to be surprised, as long as it was on Staten Island. It was a week night, work night so, didn't want to venture out too far. I was given the address without the name of the place to meet up there. I was a bit confused because I work in that area, and had no knowledge of a restaurant around there. It was down the block from where you go to pay your summons on St. Marks Place. While driving there, I approached some decorative lights, if I would have blink, would have missed it. There was plenty of parking in front. The restaurant is not that visible from the street. It is like a hidden gem on Staten Island. When walking in, you are in awe of the beautiful decor. I have seen nothing like it on Staten Island. Very trendy and edgy looking first floor lounge. We descended to the bottom floor where the main dining area is situated. It is a very serene atmosphere. It reminded me of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant SUR in Los Angeles. I have not seen anything of this caliber on Staten Island. I was very impressed. Loved the name, as well, which means World in Albanian. The menu is very diverse, Bota is the perfect name for this restaurant because the menu is a fusion of different flavors. We ordered the calamari and short rib steam buns as appetizers. Both were excellent. My favorite entre to have usually involves shrimp, BUT, not on the menu. I ordered the next best thing, the lobster risotto. I can tell you, I was not disappointed. It was outstanding. My dinner partner was full from the appetizers, so she ordered the tuna tartare as a dinner option. She was very satisfied with her dish. The executive chef, Carlos, was out in the dining room and part of the food presentation. Have never met a chef so passionate about his creations. He does an excellent job. Our server, Gonzalo, was very personable and attentive throughout our entire dining experience. Excellent service at this restaurant. I was so pleased our first impression of this restaurant, that I am proud to say it has become my favorite on the Island. I highly recommend everyone to try it. You will be highly impressed. Welcome to Staten Island, BOTA. This type of venue is long overdue on this island. Thank you for an excellent dining experience. I will surely be back!! Parking: Ample parking on the street. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free street parkin

Food: 5/5 absolutely blown away from the apps. Calamari was fresh and the marinara was the best I've ever had (a tad sweet and super fresh. Nice attention to detail with the cover on the lemon so the seeds don't spread over the calamari. The crispy tuna rice was amazing as well, well balanced and super fresh. I would order both of them again. I ordered the lobster risotto and it didn't disappointment the creaminess was to die for and the lobster was super fresh. The quality of ingredients used over all was just stunning. My guy had penne vodka , the sauce was outrageously delicious. I thought it was odd that there was no protein option to go with it so basically we paid 30$ for a box of penne but the sauce and way it was prepared made it so worth it. It's their 2nd day open and they were so kind as to offer the best carrot cake I've ever ate in my life and my partners chocolate mousse was smooth and luscious. We also got complimentary prosecco which was a sweet touch. To note: for now it seems they have no liquor license but their mock tails were also top notch. I had the spicy mockarita and my guy got the blueberry mule. Bota has a gorgeous wine selection so that is a good pairing to the exquisite food. Service: 5/5 Adrian the floor manager kept checking in which was nice. Our waitress was on point. It felt like fine dining but not stuffy or pretentious. The attention to detail was really nice. Bathroom: 5/5 very clean. Above and beyond is the offering of mouthwash, floss, and other small pleasantries. Ambience: walking in , it feels similar to the Coupe (I would have to research if the same owner). Lounge feel, portraits of vintage models/actresses like Kate Moss and Marilyn Monroe. The bar is cute and off to the right when you walk in. I could see it getting crowded when they get packed and have people waiting for resy but the lounge must be for the overflow or those who only want to grab a drink. Everyone was super nice and very interested in making sure we were happy. I would definitely return for the food quality as a nice date night treat.

100% recomendado! Sin duda alguna la mejor opción

After reading all these 5 Star reviews I wonder if I was in the same restaurant last night? I'll start on a positive note! There is nothing at all wrong with the location, the atmosphere or the service. They gave us a choice of sitting upstairs or downstairs and we chose downstairs. At first quiet but cold...really cold. Then the music kicked in very LOUD. As we were the only ones there at 6:30 we asked them to lower it...which they did...for about five minutes.‍. They had a list of cocktails that all sounded interesting...but no liquor was mentioned. When I was asked which liquors were in the cocktails, I was told by one of our THREE waiters that spirits were forbidden due to the restaurant's proximity to a Mosque...what??? We should have left right then and there. They then brought us three tiny tasteless cheese balls and three bite sized pieces of bread with a Harissa dipping sauce. Two appetizers...charred octopus and spicy tuna on crispy rice...were flavorful but scarce for the price. Then three entrees...lobster risotto, spicy rigatoni with shrimp (which was an extra charge) and chicken piccata. These were not cheap...$39,$42 and $36 respectively. Well, the risotto barely had any lobster in it, the rigatoni was bland and I don't even know where to begin with the piccata? There was a quarter of a roast chicken...bone in...with a dollop of mashed potatoes and four thin asparagus stalks and a wedge of grilled lemon. No capers...no nice lemon juice,no flavor. I'm sorry...there are NO BONES in chicken piccata!!! But it was too late in the evening to complain and we were hungry. Then a DJ appeared and really pumped up the volume...thank God we were leaving! Oh, did I mention...$250 for a bland meal with no drinks! Never again!

I got a Sazerac with cognac, I usually get that but this time they didn't have Pierre Ferran for they only had Ansac. I personally don't care for Ansac so I believe it totally changed the taste of the drink. The bartender could tell. I didn't like it and he asked me about four times " Are you sure I change it? It doesn't matter." I'm like if you're gonna ask me that many times then let's change it. So I got a sidecar and that was fire.

Since we were big fans of those alcohols, we decided to check it out. The walls of the space were covered in colorful murals with Latin American imagery. There were banquettes along either wall with small tables and ottomans scattered in front of them, providing separate, little areas for each group. Large playing cards were fanned across each table with Jack, Queen, King, and Ace cards each having a menu on its backside. There were bar bites, a spirits list, classic cocktails that could be reimaged with your agave spirit of choice (picture a tequila mojito), and even a custom beverages. The creative drinks were not cheap, coming in at around $20 on average, but they certainly were complex! My La Balacara featured Casamigos Mezcal, spiced pear, Luxardo, orange, ginger, chestnut honey, and a chili tincture. I thought the drink sounded outrageous, but, sadly, all I tasted was that honey, the ingredient of which I was least interested. In fact, the smokiness of the mezcal really did not play well with the chestnut honey, leaving it to taste sort of like licorice. I was not a fan. My companion's El Encanto included Casamigos Cristalino, Lillet Blanc, strawberry-lemongrass cordial, guava, and basil, which sounded herbaceous, but really just tasted like a fancy daiquiri. He enjoyed it, but I found it unimpressive. Our drinks were accompanied by a complementary bowl of spiced popcorn, which was delicious. We had come from an earlier dinner, so the snack was as much as I needed. However, the few larger food items that I saw others order all looked great. While I would go back to Perico to try some other items, I felt like I had had better, more affordable cocktails upstairs at Panela.
