I came in for a silician slice which was 2.60 (seems like all the slices are the same price because my cousin had a buffalo chicken slice for the same price. Anyway, my slice was a little to chewy for my liking but it was good, my cousin said her slice was great. The decor is very nice and it looks like a great place to host an event. I've been coming here quite literally since they opened. The food has generally been consistent and delicious. The grilled chicken that comes with their yummy House and Caesar salads cannot be beat. I've tried and I've failed. The bar pie is the best on LI. The pastas and other favorite cheesy dishes are great but my favorite (aside from the house salad with grilled or spicy buffalo chicken) is the pizza. My favorites are the buffalo chicken and spinach and broccoli white slice. They're absolutely fantastic! Also, if you're hungry enough for an appetizer the calamari and mussels in white wine sauce are a must! Just avoid the gelato...it's not good at all and not their specialty. read more

Very Disappointed... a friend had recommended this restaurant. I ordered my food, and I got there in about 10 mins. The personal margarita pizza was already in a box. It didn't have a tasty sauce and didn't feel made to order. The fresh mozzarella was the only thing that I liked. My son didn't like his spaghetti and meatballs. This is his favorite Italian food, and he didn't like the taste either. The large Caesar salad was a pile of Romaine lettuce with a smidge of grated Parmesan with hard tasteless crotons. I have been coming here all my life, and it is still my favorite restaurant! They have pizza for a quick slice and have a dining portion for those nights out. I usually order the penne all vodka with grilled chicken and it is to die for!!! The perfect combination of vegetables, sauce, chicken, and pasta make it the best! They also have very good baked ziti pizza and make a mean buffalo chicken. Though some reviews state that there is a huge rush, I don't really see it, and it's really my that crowded*. The prices are okay, but for food this good they are perfect! One of my favorite hometown pizzerias to stop in and get a slice! Being just five minutes away from home makes it that much harder to say no to my very frequent pizza cravings. On top of that, the salads are amazing (for those trying to stay on the healthier side/away from carbs). Ask for it chopped. This place is really great itaialn food. I always use to go there for food. I used to get this penna pasta with spinach and chicken is really good. The only problem is when it gets really busy it is a long wait. So if I was you I get there early before it gets packed. Can't wait to go back and eat there again. read more

Great memories so when I was back in the area, I decided to stop and get some food. Their sicilian slice and cheese ravioli are my favorite! Very nice dining room and clean. Friendly staff but only reason I took off a star was the counter help. When I was there seemed like they ( really only one guy ) was annoyed by the customers. I mean it is the Five Towns where everyone thinks they are the gift from GOD. Anyways to the one guy behind the counter, be grateful that you have a job. I went once with my mom and we actually sat down at a table. The waitress was rude, and the food sucked! We ordered chicken Marsala which was bland, no flavor what so ever. The pasta was cold. We also ordered chicken fettuccine, omg worst plate ever!!! And we asked for an extra plate for our salad and she literally set it down so hard that it almost cracked. I went there yesterday, after many years, Now I know why. The Grandma pizza was room temperature, You don't need to be a genius to heat a slice. The gorgonzola salad had a few nuts and a sprinkle of cheese. 90 percent had nothing but boring greens right out of a bag. I can only really review the pizza at Marinara, and they put out a pretty good slice. Definitely, one of the better pizzeria's on the South Shore. They have some excellent specialty slices. All the slices are pretty heavy, loaded with cheese and toppings. My favorite is the baked ziti; it comes loaded with ziti, red sauce, ricotta cheese, and spices. Seriously, I have only seen baked ziti pizza in New York and the rest of the US is seriously missing out. My biggest complaint is that the crust is not crisp enough, especially if you order whole pizza's. The crust is not crisp enough to hold up the weight of the toppings, causing either a mess or the necessity of a fork and knife (and who eats pizza with a fork and knife ... really just get messy instead). If you order by the slice the pizza is a lot crisper since they throw it back in the oven to heat it back up. Overall, its a good place to get pizza but not worth going out of the way for. read more

I have been going to Mari nara's for over 20 years. Their house salad is always spot on and so is their Fried Calamari (appetizer). Often I would order the Shrimp Marinara and it was pretty good. The last 2 times I ordered (was their 21/2 weeks ago) the sauce was dry , deep red and no flavor (tasted like it had a lot of tomato paste). The shrimps were smaller and there were only 5 of them (This entrée has gone up in price every year and now it is almost $19 for 6 shrimp and linguine). A little over priced but I paid it because it tasted good. Not any more. Needless to say I asked the waiter what happened and was told they have a new chef. Well it is not an improvement. I hope they go back to their original recipe for their marinara sauce or they will start losing their regular customers. Unhappy with the changes. read more

i hate waiting for 20 min for 2 slices to go no one on line and no one behind the counter wants to take your order. they are too busy taking phone orders and tell you to wait. this didn't just happen once but 3 times. don't go here if you think you can run in and out you will just end up waiting with the rest of the people on line behind you complaining to each other. they are only interested in large orders. so frustrating. read more

For my money the best pizza and Italian food in the Five Towns. Pasta dishes are fantastic. I recommend the Penne Madeira, Rigatoni Fiorentina, Penne Montonara, Gamberi, Tortellini Ala Panna, all fabulous. If you are looking for a simple Parmigiana (Chicken, Veal, Meatball, Eggplant, Shrimp) you can't go wrong here either. I also really like the Grilled Chicken Primavera with tons of fresh grilled veggies on top of perfectly grilled chicken cutlet. If you're just looking for a quick slice, you can't beat the Buffalo or the Chicken Marsala. The crust is crispy and they give you a ton of chicken. Both of those slices are probably good for a meal right there. I also love the Marinara slice and the eggplant and tomato. The garlic knots are only for those who LOVE garlic. Not many vampire fans there. Take-out is consistent sometimes as stuff isn't always hot or ready by the time you bring it home, but that's a risk you take with take-out/delivery. All in all, Marinara is a great place for a filling Italian meal. read more
