My elderly parents live in a building overrun by crackheads, drug dealers and prostitutes. They were one of the first families to move into the building when it opened. At first it was perfect. A very peaceful and lovely place to live within walking distance to the water. Today, my elderly mother came to pick my father up for his doctor appointment. When she entered the building, her neighbor was getting horribly beaten in the lobby of the building by drug dealers. He screamed for my mother to help. In fear, my mother ran to the renting office for help. They laughed in her face when she asked them to call the cops after she explained what was happening. Not only didn't they laugh, they referred to my mother and other tenants in the building as "niggers" and proceeded to say they can't do anything. My mother could not even enter the building for a while due to the drug dealers in the lobby. When she did finally have a moment to get to her apartment she and my father had to wait because the drug dealers came back and continued to best this man. Even though my father was having a medical emergency they could not make it out the building out of fear. Luckily after a while one of their neighbors came and escorted them to their car so that my father could make it to the hospital. read more
