Even with not living there for 3 months, they still go above and beyond. My mail order pharmacy sent my medication to my previous address there and would not resend it. I contacted Nadia and let her know the situation, she was extremely attentive and was able to track it down and secure it for me until I was able to get it picked up. I really appreciate all the help that we endured in our time as residents there and will continue to recommend those looking for a great apartment in a great location of the south bay, to them. I HIGHLY recommend you take into consideration the comments on property management (aside from Kelli - she is relatively new and does try to help this goat rope of a company She is extempt from this review). While the "area" may be decent, the apartments are poorly and cheaply put together. Paint splatters everywhere, cheap appliances, no AC, huge gaps underneath the island connecting to the floor, garage storages are disgusting, and that's just a few examples. This isn't even the biggest and most disturbing issue. I say again - It's property management! One person in particular = NADIA! Nadia is only responsive when it benefits her. Otherwise, you will not hear from her. She contacted me three times for my renters insurance despite this already being sent to her via text twive AND then the 3rd time threatened to charge me for not having it on file. What's mind boggling is if what I provided wasn't sufficient documentation there should've been communication. Not one time! She even said thanks when it was provided. I digress. She rides around on her golf cart to walk her dog, leaves work early to pick up her daughter & doesn't return (I can't even begin to tell you how many times I tried to catch her in the office - never there!), and doesn't even communicate to her co-workers about the issues on this property. Kelli had no idea I was moving out. Nadia knew the day I moved out, when I followed back up and randomly stopped by because of the lack of response, and NOW I've asked about my Security Deposit twice with absolutely no response. All of the neighbors were friendly, and the kids were respectful of the common areas. Very quiet at night. The maintenance staff handled all service inquiries promptly and with personal care. The property manager, Lorena, ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and a check in, which made living there feel truly like home. She went over and above her required job, even wishing me well on holidays, knowing my family was on the East Coast. My only recommendation is to convert the on-site laundry to a card system, although if keeping the coin system keeps costs low ($4 a load in 5/2026), maybe no change is needed! Ocean West is in the heart of a quiet, residential community and adjacent to a school with plenty of on street parking for guests and walkable to 711, Walmart, PetSmart, and Tokyo Central. Very close to Del Amo Mall and an 9 minute ride to the Esplanade in Redondo Beach.

The leasing office team, Alejandra and Lucas, along with the manager Kimberly have been amazing to work with. They are always friendly, professional, and quick to help whenever I've had questions or needed assistance. Their communication and willingness to go the extra mile really make a difference. I also want to give a big thank you to the maintenance team, especially Jared. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and professionally, and Jared has always been great whenever he has come by. He is knowledgeable, respectful, and clearly takes pride in making sure everything is taken care of properly. I've enjoyed living here so much that I actually decided to transfer to another unit within the community, which says a lot about how positive my experience has been. The team truly makes Griffis on Pine feel like a place where residents are valued. Mike also said he would: - Ask the leasing office about replacing our broken dishwasher (submitted 8/4). - Reach out to the regional maintenance person regarding the black mold growing in our bathroom grout. While I'm glad some repairs were finally addressed, major concerns are still unresolved. The dishwasher remains broken, the mold issue is ongoing, and other problems like the broken gate and mailbox delays continue to impact residents. This update is an improvement, and Mike deserves recognition, but what's still needed is consistency and urgency from management. Residents shouldn't have to wait weeks or escalate issues to regional just to resolve basic health and safety fixes.

Ty is also super sweet and was a joy to work with. * Security: Tony the security guard is absolutely phenomenal. He is incredibly warm, friendly, and truly makes the building feel like a community. * Maintenance: Kudos to the new maintenance team! They are super friendly, warm, and have been a great addition to the building. The downside? I simply don't trust the property management. Communication is a major issue. We had a change in management that wasn't disclosed until the last minute, meaning I never got to say goodbye to the original team that helped me for most of my stay. More alarmingly, when a tragic suicide attempt occurred next to the building, management misled residents by claiming it was a "robbery." The renewal process was the final straw. I was very close to extending my lease, but the Property Manager constantly changed rates on me and insisted there was "nothing he could do" to negotiate. Magically, the moment I submitted my 30-day notice, he offered a significantly lower price. To add insult to injury, now that I've moved out, I see my exact unit listed for significantly less than what they were offering me to stay. Between the lack of transparency, the constant loud construction, and the high price tag, it's hard to recommend this place despite the amazing staff. It's a beautiful community, but the corporate games make it feel like they don't value resident loyalty at all. I'd also be weary of the area in itself, I never felt safe walking around at night.
