Moved in recently and the experience has been very disappointing for a "luxury" complex. The unit was not properly cleaned at move-in, and it took multiple follow-ups just to get basic issues addressed. Communication from management was slow and inconsistent--calls went unanswered and emails often took over a day for a response. Working with the property manager, Samuel, was also frustrating due to the lack of responsiveness and support. While the issues were eventually fixed, the process required far more effort than it should have, and the resolution offered did not match the inconvenience. I moved into this complex about two weeks ago, and I want to acknowledge my first point of contact, Eric W. From the start, he was more than helpful--he showed me the apartment, and I had the keys the very next day. Eric was efficient, professional, and even shared in my excitement about moving in. I've been a resident at Onni East Village since December 2024, and my positive feelings about this community have only grown stronger. While the amenities are truly unmatched and the apartment interiors are beautiful, the real standout is the incredible staff. In my opinion, luxury doesn't mean much without great management, and the team here exceeds all expectations. This review is long over due. I've been living in Onni East Village Apartments for 2 + years now . I am a Physician at the VA medical Center in Long beach. I predominately live in San Diego and needed a quiet ,clean apartment complex with all of the amenities during the week while at work . I got much more than that!!! My studio apartment is my sanctuary after a long hard day at work. The gym and pool , spa are state of the art! Most of all, the staff is kind, professional , caring, skilled and a joy to be around. ( especially when they have special events/gatherings for the residents). Shout out to the leasing consultant Eric and the whole management team Sandy, Saby, Jessi . I apologize for missing a few names but they are all amazing , kind and professional and are so responsive to answer questions and help solve problems. I feel blessed to have their support , care and guidance when there is and issue/concern. The concierge team are always eager to be of service and greet you with a warm smile and hello. Especially Randi. He is a very nice young man! I don't know all of their names but want to acknowledge the whole team. The housekeeping team are hard workers who pay attention to detail to keep OEV looking absolutely wonderful. Submitted my application a few days ago and I cannot get anyone to call back. Not sure what is going on here but they do not return calls, emails etc. I was looking forward to moving here and was ready to make the move but it is very obvious that they are not ready to provide basic customers service. When I was in the elevator, getting a tour, a couple was complaining that their AC was not working and that they were just hoping that someone would come and check things out. I am really disappointed with management / leadership. I understand that they are going through changes etc, but that should never be a reason for not returning calls to a candidate that was eager to move in. Good luck trying to get a call back. $25.00 for overnight parking / $18 with "Pre purchased Parking". 2 Bedrooms come with 1 parking at additional $75.00 Update: They offered a 3k concession and no application fee by the property manager Sandra. After I declined again they told me that the application fee is non refundable!!! Where is the integrity!? And they are going to hold my $500 deposit for 21 days / 2 weeks? This is ludicrous!!! To this day, I have not received a call back. My only communication is via text. When I call the number it goes to an empty voicemail. read more

We have been living here for a month now and its been incredible. Onni is close to many restaurants in DTLB. The amenities are impressive - theres a huge pool , hot tub, steam sauna, huge gym, basketball, ping pong, recording studio, working space and movie room! The entire place is spotless and the staff cleans regularly. Lots of dogs still everyone cleans up after. They also host community events. Good parking spot, apt unit has everything one needs. I just wanted to put an update here. We have lived here since June 2024. And for the first couple of months, there was a little bit of Internet issues, but since then we have not had any problems. I honestly enjoy this place and love our proximity to all the restaurants , to the beach. The amenities themselves between the awesome gym, the steam room, the sauna. The huge pool, the huge hot tub. The positive reviews I've seen are almost certainly fake or haven't lived here for more than a week. Notice how after every couple of negative (real) reviews, new 5-star reviews pop up. Kids in the gym barefoot continue, along with people now bringing their dogs (?!) to the gym? Careful because if your neighbors smoke, the admin will just tell you that even though they claim to be a "smoke-free property", detailed in our leasing agreement that's actually just a suggestion and they can't actually do anything about that. On the day after the 4th of July celebrations, there was vomit just dried all over the wall of one of the planters right where everyone walks. Disgusting. One thing I do feel deserves acknowledgment is the cleaning staff. They're all so kind and sweet and I hope at least get paid well for the horrible things I have seen them have to deal with. read more

I've been living at OEV for the past year and four months and absolutely love it here! One of the main reasons I decided to renew my lease is the responsiveness and efficiency of the leasing staff. I had a time-sensitive issue, and both Ken and Jessie immediately stopped what they were doing to assist me, addressing all of my questions--which isn't something you often see. If you're considering leasing here, I highly recommend working with them. They are incredibly attentive, extremely helpful, and truly went above and beyond my expectations. It's been a month and things are starting to settle down. Jazmin helped us with the issue regarding the incorrect charges. We've found a few other maintenance issues that have popped up since we moved in but as stated before their maintenance team is pretty much on it. Package room needs improvement because it's just a room with shelves and everyone's boxes are out on the shelves by unit number. Weird, even the older apartment buildings around have secure parcel boxes and this modern place doesn't but the staff/security are all really great about letting you in to get your package. Garrett wasn't totally transparent when helping us we are finding out. We were surprised to find out that people can stay here that don't actually live here and they rent out units like an extended stay/airbnb sort of situation so that's a thing to know. All seems to be working out well, just minor things keep popping up that are normal in an apartment community but you deal with it. This is a good community with lots to do and it's well kept. Great maintenance team and even the cleaning crews and security around are super friendly. I see a lot of the same faces working the desk and they are really friendly as well. read more

We looked at quite a few places in Long Beach and Onni had the overall best value and was able to provide 2 garage parking spots which I needed! Amenities are awesome. My favorite is the jacuzzi and grills that they clean every morning for tenants to use. The large heated pool, steam room, sauna, and huge gym are also a huge plus for me. Garrett was very helpful and patient showing us all the units, some multiple times. Also remembers us by name when we see him around the property. I applied for a lease and part of the agreement was to put a $500.00 deposit to hold the room per the agreement I could get my deposit in full refund if I decided to not move forward with signing the lease this was in September of 2024 it is now December and The company has not returned my money and any time I call in I can't get a single person on the phone beware of putting up your money with this building you will not get your money back. read more

Terrible experience ever since signing the lease. The "resident services" part of leasing office appears chronically understaffed (or simply ignoring residents after they sign the lease?). During the weeks leading up to our move-in date, we could hardly get anyone to reply to emails asking to confirm simple details and logistics. No-one picked up the phone either despite multiple attempts. On move-in date, we had to wait for 15-20min before anyone would acknowledge us and give us unit keys, since the leasing agent that was duty "doesn't deal with move-ins". We also did not get parking allocation on move-in date, despite clearly signing up for parking in the lease - it ended up taking 5 days to finally get a spot, and even so, first spot we were assigned turned out to belong to a different resident, and had to be corrected. Best for last.... our AC has hardly worked since moving in, and effectively completely gave up a couple days into the lease. It has now been two weeks since formally logging a maintenance request, power to the ac has been turned off by maintenance, and it has been 80+ deg and close to 80% humidity in the unit. read more

I've been trying to apply to this building for a whole day now and it's been the most difficult application, the office hasn't name wrong so my id verification failed and I've been calling for one whole day and nobody answers. I got ONE email response back and I havent heard from them since. *the email they sent (and only email) was because they forgot to send me the link to apply for my desire unit. I don't even live there yet and it's already so inconvenient. I wish they care more about answering phone calls and considering is an application live move in I think the office should be more on it. read more

My wife and I moved here in February after our last place flooded, and the transition couldn't have been smoother. Zamira and Alexis went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and assist with anything we needed. The community is great, with awesome neighbors, responsive staff, and tight security. We are a little over a week into living here and so far we are liking it! We decided to go with OEV due to the location in Long beach (walkability/closeness to shops, cafes, restaurants and breweries) as well as their pretty impressive amenities (2-level gym, pool, coworking spaces, covered parking, and even a steam room/sauna). Sauna doesn't work yet still but steam room is working. A few notes since moving in (which hopefully may be helpful for either future residents or folks figuring out whether they should go with this or not): - Internet takes 2 BUSINESS days to set up (so we definitely had to plan/adjust accordingly). Once internet was up though, its been smooth (we got the standard $65 package. I work from home most days and am on a decent number of online meetings and haven't experienced any issues at all which has been great). - Kitchen is very efficiency-driven. A pretty decent amount of cabinet space and countertop but no island. Small refrigerator and even smaller freezer than we anticipated so as big meal preppers, we're still figuring this part out but we've been OK so far. - Packages for Midrise sometimes end up in the High rise package room. The Midrise concierge isn't always staffed but the high rise usually is. - Broadway is pretty quiet except for the super loud, occasional car/motorist that likes to speed down the street late at night. It happens on occasion particularly over the weekend. Luckily it hasn't happened super often so we've been able to sleep through the night for the most part. You do hear the metro train run by, but we're on the 8th floor so it hasn't been as jarring. - Everyone in the building has been pretty friendly/cordial so far, which is really nice! - We've only had one maintenance request/issue so far (garbage disposal didn't work when we moved in) but they came and fixed that within 24 hours and even left a note that they were there. CONS: -Internet is the worst ever! They provide you 2 options for internet, I chose the cheapest at $65 and believe the higher one is between $80-90. Absolute trash! Esp if you're WFH -Staff is overworked and underpaid so don't expect an email back replying to anything within 3-5 business days, just go straight to leasing -Parking: garage door is broken once every 6 months, not really addressed in community bulletin, ceilings are cracked if you look closer, some are patched up, rat traps in many places -Dog excrements: this place has a handful of individuals who don't clean up after their dogs so sometimes you'll see surprises in the elevator or common areas, we do have a dog park but why use that when you can use the blocked off tree area at the entrance of the building or the metal poles -On top of rent and parking, electricity is completed with SCE, $12 monthly mandatory fee for renters insurance, call box (Mosino) fee, utilities include hvac/lest/sewage all that good stuff which used to be 40ish for us but now has almost doubled The construction of this building was rushed and doubt it'll last long before it falls apart. This place is not really built with great business standards either, great try for DTLB. I did extend my lease because new management came in and thought it would be better which is was for a bit but then they left for a better opportunity at a new building so boo hoo. read more

When I first moved in, the AC didn't work, and management provided a temporary portable unit. After the AC was "fixed", my electricity consumption skyrocketed, leading to a massive increase in my bill, even though I used the AC sparingly. Despite repeatedly raising the issue, management only sent their service team--not a certified HVAC provider--and found no problem, causing the issue to persist for nearly a year. When a certified HVAC technician finally checked the unit, they discovered a fan set to the highest setting, which caused the excessive energy usage. After this was fixed, my consumption returned to normal. However, I've also been charged unexplained HVAC fees of $30-$50 per month, with no clear explanation provided by management. Despite requesting a credit or concession for the AC issues, the property manager denied my request and refused to provide contact information for decision-makers. She also compared the situation to frequent internet outages, which are unrelated and irrelevant but yet another example of poor management and deflection. After multiple follow-ups, I still haven't received any resolution or communication. I was informed that someone in their corporate office would be reaching out to me in August but I haven't received communication (it's now October). Overall, the frequent internet outages, unclear HVAC charges, and poor management response to tenant issues have made living here frustrating and disappointing. read more
