Horrible sales and finance department. If you change your mind they'll keep your down payment.

Saleswoman spent a week working on a trade. Drove 3 hours to complete. Her boss backed out and told my wife to leave. Worst experience ever.

Volkswagen of Waco - New VW Buzz loaded onto transport trailer

    Volkswagen of Waco

    (34 reviews)

I had a very smooth car buying experience with VW of Waco. I saw an ID Buzz listed online. Called…read moreand talked to Miguel about it and asked for the out the door price. The OTD had no fluff, no "optional" dealer installed add ons or packages. Finance department didn't try to push anything either. Exactly what I hope for from a solid dealer. I was buying from out of state. We handled everything over call/text/email. They helped get it loaded onto the truck with no issues.

If you have the opportunity, go anywhere other than VW of Waco to purchase a Volkswagen. If you do choose to do business with this dealership, it should truly be "buyer beware." My wife had a car accident just before Christmas that rendered her car a complete loss. As we were car shopping, we settled on the Volkswagen Atlas and ended up at our hometown dealership, Volkswagen of Waco. We worked with De'monte Valasquez. He was a very pleasant young man that regaled us with stories of the past dealerships that he had worked at and the fact that he had finally landed at a dealership that was honest and treated customers well. De'monte took us on a test drive of the last years model of Volkswagen Atlas that we had identified online. We sat down to talk numbers and De'monte he presented us a deal sheet. I took the deal sheet home and did some more research and arrived at a reasonable offer I was comfortable presenting. The next morning when De'monte called me, I presented him the number and asked him to take it to his managers and let me know. About an hour and fifteen minutes later, De'monte called me back and told me that he had to sell his managers, but they are willing to take a loss and sell me the car. We agreed that I would get a check for the down payment and head his way. As I was standing in the bank waiting for the check to be cut, my phone rang and it all started to unravel. De'monte told us that two of his three managers had agreed to the deal, but the third manager refused it. So, we cancelled our cashiers check and headed to the dealership. Once we arrived at the dealership, De'monte told us that he was really sorry, but one manager had overridden the deal. He went and got the general manager and we all spoke to him. Any of our concerns with the way that the deal was handled were completely dismissed by the general manager. In the conversation, there was only the mention that there would be internal consequences for the broken deal, but the dealership was not willing to honor the deal that they had agreed to in earnest. The amount of apathy shown by the general manager was, honestly, concerning. I can get on board with the business end of the deal, but the fact that they agreed to a price and then pulled that deal off of the table with no concession was offensive. I guess there is no honor in the car selling game these days. What is even worse is that no one at the dealership we dealt with seemed to care. I guess that's they think their product is good enough to not care about customers. I have heard of these games, but I had always had generally pleasant dealings with car dealerships in the past. I can say that opinion is completely out of the window now.
