They would not give me a trade in value for my car, then they kept trying to keep my old Subaru and make me drive a new Subaru around town while I run errands and I kept trying to explain how that doesn't work for me because I have to pick up my child at school and I would need his carseat, they acted like I was lying by questioning that and pressuring me to take the car. Since Douglas took over from Jubilee this location had been pretty amazing. But now I've had 2 recent bad Customers service experiences. 1X I went for an oil change a few months ago. Received some heavy pushback for the so called drive up service express. Left and went to Five Star instead. Recently the service manager became abusive and aggressively verbal. It was uncalled for and the other employees agreed and apologized for his behavior. On the local Neighborhood app I saw someone else complain about them for same attitude from the service department manager. I went on and defended them. I regret that now. Douglas I don't know what happened but you need to go and ask Sewell in Dallas about appropriate attire and attitude of your employees. The service team other than manager I believe has change people quite a bit in last year or two. I think I understand why now. read more

I took my Subaru in for regular maintenance, oil change, tire rotation, etc. The service tech approached me and told me that the air filter and cabin air filter needed to be replaced. I agreed, without getting the price. Long story short, the two filters cost me well over $100. I should have asked the price before hand, my fault. When I left, about a mile down the road, my windshield washer light came on for the first time ever. I stopped on the shoulder and found the reservoir tube hanging from the entry tap, which it wasn't before. Final kick was I took my Subaru to another dealership for the next oil change and tire rotation, and they found one of the lugs cross threaded, and since no one had touched my wheels since Douglass Subaru, we know who caused that problem. I wrote a letter to Douglass Subaru requesting them pay the $118 it cost me to repair the damage they caused. I received a call a few days later and they offered a free oil change instead. I politely said no thank you. Won't be going back to Douglass Subaru again. read more

I chose this dealer for service because my daughter goes to Baylor University she brought her Subaru in for a routine oil change and tire rotation ! They didn't tighten the lug nuts on all four tires! My daughter had to tighten them herself after hearing noise from the tires !When she came home to NY I went to change the oil myself and the drain plug was tightened with an impact gun! Up to this point we trusted this dealership. Then the following happened. My 80 year old mother, who is a retired teacher living on a fixed income, went there to return her leased 2021White Subaru Outback Touring. The guys at the dealership acted all ready to help. Both one of the Sales Managers and the GM were there. They told her it would be better for her to just sell them the car instead of returning it back to Subaru. The offered to buy it for what Subaru said the car was worth if she were to buy it, which war just over $26,000, making it a wash. Then today I find the car for sell on their site. They had the car for sale for $30,995. While I realize they will drop the price some for a buyer, it won't be more than a $1,000. At that price they could have at least given her $1,000 over, and still made a nice profit on resale. It is sad to say, but this dealership has no respect for our senior citizens, and has no problem taking advantage of them. read more

These cars sell themselves !!! I went to Douglass Subaru just to take a look at some cars. I had no intention of buying a cart the day I did. moments after arriving , I was greeted by one of the salesman, Hunter. I told Hunter that I was just there to look at cars since I am from out of state. Hunter had no problem with me taking a look and he even offered to let me test drive whatever I wanted. I test trove an outback and couldn't believe how smooth, luxurious, and spacious it was. I continued to look at cars after I test drove one, and an Outback on the show room floor caught my eye. After having time to look at all of the beautiful Subaru's I decided to see what it would look like to get the one I had my eye on since I did not think I would see one like that again. There are so many make and models that the chances of seeing that exact Outback would be slim to none. I never felt like Hunter was being pushy or even cared if I bought a car. It felt like he was 100% on my side and helping me get the information I needed to make a decision. Hunter helping me buy the car and Mike helping me finance the car was the best experience I have ever had at a car dealership. Hunter and Mike even helped me days after I had already had the car to help me with the the paperwork I needed to ship the car back home. I hope anyone considering going to Douglass Subaru reads all the wonderful reviews about this establishment and decide to go in because the friendly environment will definitely make you feel comfortable and at ease. I was going to make a video going over all the problems I've had with the whole service department with Scotlyn, the Service Director, and Subaru North America, but I'm just going to make a short review instead. They're good for very simple stuff like oil changes and brake fluid swaps, but anything remotely complex I would 100% not advise. Took my BRZ there three times for a CEL for misfire on cylinder 3. The first time they assured me the problem was fixed and they then misdiagnosed the issue and I paid over $800 for it. When the CEL came back on for the same code, they told me to bring it back and that I would pay for them fixing the car again unless it is a problem with the job they did. After getting Subaru North America in the situation, I brought it back and the Master Technician put injector cleaner through the gas tank and didn't charge any money. I was happy with the outcome until the code came back again. By this time I had to go out of state for a couple of months and I put a pin on the problem until I came back. After about a couple of months of being out I decided to sell the car and put the ad up, but I wanted to fix the problem before selling the car. I called Douglass Subaru and scheduled an appointment a week before the appointment was set and I told them my scenario about how I have lots of people interested, I'm flying in JUST to get the car fixed and sold, it was my third time bringing the car in, and I would like this issue resolved once and for all. When I dropped it off (on time) the master technician hasn't looked at it until the next day. By then, Scotlyn then told me my car needed "forced induction cleaning" which is funny because my BRZ doesn't have any forced induction, and I'm not quite sure if that cleaning exists. When I asked her what that means, she said she didn't know and that she will double check with the Master Tech. He then said how the solution is to put injector cleaner again AND that they will charge me $200, and by this time I am already certain it would not work as they tried the same tactic beforehand. Scotlyn then told me that "you can come and pick up your car then". Quite unprofessional. I decided to go online and do a lot more research on the problem and ask people on the facebook groups and forums and I found the solution. At this time they ordered the parts, and kept telling me that it would be ready the next day, and the next day, and even the service director told me it'll be ready the next day after that. Keep in mind, I have people waiting on me to see the car in order for me to sell it, and I kept telling them that. By this time the car has been in the shop for a week, and they said the technician is working on the car and it'll be ready tomorrow. I then called them up that day towards the end of the day about the progress of my car and the other service advisor picked up and told me that the Master Technician is working on two other bigger projects that were here before me. He then told me that my car would be done in two weeks, which was the opposite of what my other service advisor AND the service director told me. Such scummy tactics. I then demanded to speak with Scotlyn and I picked up the car the next day instead and took it all the way to Austin to an indie Subaru shop to get it fixed. They had wasted a week of my time, the business I could've made selling the car earlier due to the attention it had gotten, and also the money I had spent with them trying to fix the problem. I tried to keep this review short but there is so much more interaction between myself, Douglass Subaru, and Subaru North America that I really haven't included in the THREE MONTHS I've had the exact same issue. I'd avoid Douglass Subaru at all costs and Subaru North America gave up on the problem halfway through as well. I do NOT recommend getting a Subaru car nor taking your car here to Douglass Subaru due to their sheer unprofessionalism, disorganized staffing, and scummy tactics to make you pay more money. The service advisors don't care about you and your situation, the master technician is either incompetent or doesn't give his 100% for the job, and the service director rarely responds to emails and picks up his phone. Avoid at all costs. read more

They overnighted the part, had it fixed by the next morning, and helped me with a loaner car in the meantime. Even with that quick turnaround, they fixed some smaller issues, rotated my tires, and washed my car. read more

I can't say enough good things. I recently bought a Subaru Outback with Hunter (salesman) and wasn't immediately happy with a few ascetics and features of the year model, but not enough to keep me from buying the extremely clean vehicle. Even after me buying the vehicle and going home, they continued to make me a happy customer. I was already a paying customer and they had no reason to continue pursuing excellent service on my behalf. Shawn and Hunter went WELL out of their way to conduct market research and provide an option to satisfy my request for a feature that simply doesn't come on the year and model I bought. They spent ample time researching options and provided me the best one out there. Hunter, Sal, Shawn, Brian, Robert, Emily, and Krystal were all incredibly helpful and hospitable. I will most likely always own a Subaru form now on and as long as I am near Waco, it will come from Douglass Subaru! I purchased a brand new 2021 Subaru Ascent but noticed there was a line coming down on the windshield while looking at it at the dealership. They replaced the windshield which is quite involved because it uses eyesight technology and needs to be calibrated. Fast forward one year and the same strange line appears in the exact same place. I called the service department at this dealership and described what appeared with no obvious damage and told them that I purchased their extended deluxe warranty. They said the warranty only covers repair of Windshield chips and not windshield replacement. I told them that I read that Subaru was named in a class action lawsuit regarding their defective acoustic glass windshields (they lost the lawsuit) but was told they are only honoring free replacement of the models named in the lawsuit, namely Outbacks and Foresters and certain VIN numbers. Upon reviewing the myriad complaints posted by Subaru owners, it is apparent that since changing to their new acoustic glass windshield in order to provide Eyesight technology, most of their recent makes and models are affected. Some owners filed the class action lawsuit because nationwide, dealers were refusing to replace these defective windshields unless the owners paid for the replacement themselves. I just took my 2021 Ascent in for its second windshield and I paid $1,100. I am disappointed in Subaru and would have been a lifelong Subaru owner if Subaru would honor what is clearly a manufacturing or design defect. While we were at the dealership getting the windshield replaced, another customer was asking the service person if there was a problem with the windshields since he was there having to replace his 3rd windshield ‍. I have ordered a GMC Canyon and will be trading my Subaru in as soon as it arrives. read more

Warning to anyone using the service dept. here at this dealership. They absolutely lie about their workmanship and don't take any responsibility for their mistakes. Very long story I'll try to make short. Had ac issues and came to this dealership to finally get the condenser replaced, again, due to a recall. My car ac worked when I brought it in, but after their "repair" it stopped working and blowing cold. They told me I had a condenser leak and they replaced it, which I figured was the case but then they continued to tell me that the heating control unit (the temp knobs) was having a short and it would blow cold but because the short it will start to blow really hot. I start driving home, ac on hoping it will get cold sometimes, and my car starts jerking really bad and I thought it was going to die. So I turned the ac off and it stopped, then I turned it back off and took the recirculation off and the ac ran colder if I was driving but it kept jerking. Then my car started smelling like it was going to overheat. So I stopped at a gas station and popped the hood. When the ac was on the compressor would try to kick on but immediately turn off because the high fan on the radiator wouldn't turn on. Well, I recently dealt with this issue the first time the other dealership changed out my condenser, they didn't plug it back in (So I had another mechanic hook that up and viola it was working again ​). The shop had closed so I drove home with the ac off and came back the next morning. I asked to talk to the mechanic that did the work so I could show him that the fan wouldn't kick either, and saying I didn't think it was the heating control module that was stopping it from working. The mechanic told me he took the heating control module out and tested it himself and it most definitely controls the fan and it didn't matter anyways because I didn't need both fans to work!!! So once he said this I knew there was something wrong. I said ok, well I think you do, could you at least check the wires and the fan to make sure it's not this issue. If not, I'll get the heating control unit replaced. He said sure and I'll send you a video. Great! Except not great, i walked back in and asked if i bought the unit and replaced it and it didnt fix the issue, would i get some kind of reimbursement or guarantee that would cover that? I was told no, we cant do that. I then confirmed that if i pay $800 and thats not the part thats broke i get no guarantee and was told thats correct. By this time for some reason they are upset with me that I brought the car back with uncompleted work. The service advisor, George, then comes in later to tell me the car is done and my ac works, yay! But then he asked who worked on the evaporator coil? (Knowing full well I did bevause of the issue i was telling them what happened.) He then proceeds to tell me very rudely that i left 2 things unplugged and thats why it didnt work. I said thats funny because i changed it 2 weeks ago and it was working fine. I then asked him to get the Mastermechanic to show me on a diagram the ones i forgot. Now im no mechanic and i can admit my faults and that i could have done a bad job, but for it to work and now not work seems suspect. He then tells me he will go ask the mechanic. I also asked for the video they said i would get and i was told they didnt have time to do a video, so now i have no video evidence either of "my mistake ". So the service manager comes out, not a mechanic, and i proceed to pull up my from the Subaru manufacture repair manual of my car diagram of the evaporator coil and asked if he could point to the plug. He then starts saying it was a blue pin under the hood that wasnt attached. I said oh ok, so not the evaporator coil? He said well that was only one issue. The other plug was under the dash near the evaporator coil. I said ok well the blue pin was the first issue and I did not unplug anything under the hood, and with changing the condensor it could have fallen out and not been seen, that's fine. But I start showing him the evaporator plugs and his story changed and he said no no I'm talking about the heater control unit wasn't plugged in. I said, oh well you don't touch that to get to the evaporator coil. I have never touched that unit. And he said well we didn't either. And then it dawned on me George and the first mechanic both told me they had taken the heater control unit out and tested it and that was definitely the issue. So end of story was they made 2 mistakes, and instead of owning up to it and trying to fix it and apologize they were rude and tried to demean my work, which wasn't even the issue!!!! So someone was lying, they either touched the unit or not and either way they dealt very rudely with me and because of that I will never buy another Subaru because unfortunately they are the closest. And remember when the mechanic said I didn't need both fans!!!! That should be a warning to you all read more
