Nothing beats snacking on saltwater taffy while sunbathing

A trip to the beach isn't complete without a stop to Marini's. Best place for soft, buttery, chewy saltwater taffy. Once you try it here, you won't want it from anywhere else! There's always a friendly face working the counter, whether its a seasoned taffy puller or a teen working their summer job, the staff here is wonderful. A true Santa Cruz gem.

When going to the boardwalk I always want to pop in to the arcade area for the lights the people the food and the vibe... this visit was no different. After spending the day at the beach swimming, lounging and eating we popped in to Marini's for some coffee my daughter seen the had affogato on the menu I LOVE Affogato! This was just okay since I had never tried it with cold coffee before. The cappuccino was good though! Solid 3.5 stars!

Dipping chocolate with. Filthy hands, gross!!

This place should be avoided at all costs. I witnessed a woman massaging melted chocolate with her bare, filthy hands and using the other hand to prop herself up -- completely unsanitary. She was dipping chocolate pretzels this way, and it was disturbing and unacceptable. I demand a refund and can only hope I don't get food poisoning after the fact of seeing this. This establishment has been reported and needs immediate attention from health authorities.

My wife's favorite peanut butter taffy. Friendly service, love watching the taffy pull machine. Fun beachfront ambiance.

It doesn't matter how many sweets I eat throughout the day, when I'm at the boardwalk my trip is not complete without stopping by Marini's. They carry a variety of candy so there is definitely something for everyone-fudge, gummy candy and of course, their famous salt water taffy in almost every flavor you can think of. We always get salt water taffy to take home but this visit we also tried some of their Marini's made Rocky Road fudge and it was so good I am sorry we did not get more! It was filled with huge pieces of fluffy marshmallow and chopped walnuts and it was also completely gone by the next day, lol. This is definitely a must do for those of you with a sweet tooth. Customer service could not have been better, friendly and quick with plenty of staff working that very busy Saturday.

    My fav! Tidal Wave

The main reason I don't particularly care much for Marini's at the Beach is because it lacks inventory and understandably so since it's a compact version of the store. I wouldn't be surprised if Marini's at the Beach rotates the selection of candies and chocolates because its small. As long as I can find my favorite Marini's product, the Tidal Wave bar, then this franchise is totally OK in my book. And of course, I found the Tidal Wave bar today in Marini's at the Beach! This bar is pretty much a Marini's staple anyway at all the locations. It's a Rice Krispy Treat made with smooth peanut butter, mini marshmallows, white chocolate chips, and milk chocolate chips. A few other secondary favorites that I was able to purchase today from Marini's at the Beach included the s'mores bar and white chocolate dipped Oreo. I was surprised to see that this location didn't have any chocolate covered bacon, which is what Marini's is known for. Marini's chocolate covered bacon is definitely at the other locations, and it's freakin' delicious! Unfortunately my boyfriend also didn't see his favorite jelly berry candies, so we walked over to the full store at the Wharf to get those for him. The service was fine today. There were several people in front of us, but the two employees were efficient with fulfilling the orders.

Uh well... Cute sweets place at the Santa Cruz board walk. Conveniently located by the beach next to the arcade. We came to grab something to snack on. Prices were higher than I'd like to pay, but reasonable for the touristy location. However, the girl at the counter was so rude! Like, do I owe your mom money or what? Why else would you be so impatient and upset about a paying customer asking a simple question? My day was ruined after being insulted here. Please Marini... hire more professional people!

Chocolate covered bacon is so good. Definitely a most have while in Santa Cruz. I also tried chili gummies and they also good if you like spicy food.

Bought March 24th 2023. Was sold a product that expired 7 months ago. Thank god we checked before giving it to our kid! UNACCEPTABLE!!

Changing to 5 stars. Great communication and follow through from the business to send a replacement + refund to make it right. Please keep up and make sure there is always on attention to food-safety given kids make up a big proportion of your customer base.

Not what it used to be. The service was terrible last time we went and it just takes away from the magic of what thus place used to be.

My daughter and I both went with the cookie dough ice cream, and it was SO good. It wasn't just little pieces of cookie dough either--it had big chunks of chocolate mixed in, which made it even better. Our friend got the almond mocha and loved it as well. We both got the fun cones that were dipped in different chocolates, which looked as good as they tasted. I went with the basic plain cone, and honestly, it was perfect too. It was such a nice little treat to sit in the sunshine, enjoy our ice cream, and watch the sea lions barking and playing in the water. The shop is cute and has plenty of other things you can purchase, but we were mainly there for the ice cream. One thing I will mention is that there wasn't anywhere inside to wash your hands. After walking around the pier and touching everything, we definitely could have used a sink! There is a bathroom nearby, but we didn't think about using it until after we'd already ordered. The staff was kind enough to give us a cup of water, so we went outside and did our best to clean our hands that way. The service was great, the ice cream was delicious, and we were told that everything is made locally, which I always love supporting. Overall, it was the perfect little sweet stop while enjoying the wharf and watching the sea lions. Definitely worth grabbing a scoop if you're in the area!

My friend indulged in a milk shake and I tried the chocolate cinnamon ice cream. They hand dip their cones so of course I had to get a waffle cone, which is one of my favorite things.
