I read on Reddit that Marios pizzas were some of the closest to the ones in NY. I ordered by phone because Slice increases the prices to take their cut. Our order was a medium extra cheese pepperoni pizza and an order of fries. The guy on the phone said it would be about 10 minutes. When I arrived, it was almost ready but we had no way to tell which order was mine. He hadn't taken my name. He asked for an order number but I did not have once since I did not order online. This wasn't a big deal but something to note. The guy found my order quickly but it turns out whomever took my order did not add pepperoni to the pizza. They had to take it out of the oven to add pepperoni to it but it was almost done. I was worried the pepperoni would not be cooked or was simply sitting on top of the cheese. Both items came to a little under $20. The fries were awesome- crispy, hot, and could work with a number of condiments. They were the type that are lightly coated with something so a vegetarian/vegan might want to inquire. They did not skimp on the pepperoni or cheese nor did the pepperoni stand out like it had not been in the oven the whole time. The cheese went almost to the edge of the pizza which I love. Nice crispy crust. Great cheese pull. Delicious. Their pizzas are not the kind that burst with spicy or zesty flavor. Nor do they have fresh Italian undertones. This is not fancy adult pizza but the type kids and adults can share. Mario's is a great simple pizza that is ready fast. Good fries and good pizza in the same establishment is hard to find. This will be my new go-to when I order carryout.

The pizza is good. The manager is bad. I called in to get a slice when they opened at 11am. The guy told me 15 minutes. I showed up a few minutes later and waited in the car for another 10 minutes. Went inside, they never started the pizza slices. I asked why and the guy just kind of brushed me off, even though he saw me sitting in my car the whole time. He came out a time or two while I waited (the chef was inside the whole time.) He said "we don't have slices until 11:30am." That would have been fine if he told me that on the phone, not so fine since you told me at 11 it would be 15 minutes. Normally a little longer wait wouldn't be an issue, but i was making a quick trip for my lunch break. I told him i had tried to come grab a slice the night before and they were closed early. He asked when and I said I was there at 10. "We close at ten!" I explained that Google said they were open until 11 and he might want to edit the hours on there. He continued shouting at me, "We close at 10. It says that everywhere! don't know what Google you're looking at! We close at 10!" I pulled it up to show him, he pulled it up too. He then said "that needs to be changed!" No apology, nothing. They get all their ingredients and their desserts from Costco, I watched him bring them inside. The slice was fresh since I had to wait another additional 20 minutes. Due to the jerk that runs the place, I won't be back.

Great pizza spot for a good price and chill vibes, especially if you're hitting the Senator for a movie right across the street. Eats: We did the half white half godfather 16" and it was way more than enough for two. The white was my favorite with the ricotta but if you're looking for a more stuffed and meaty feel, The Godfather's your best bet. Staff was kind and we even got a complimentary strawberry shortcake to take with us!

Pretty good. Garlic knots and Caesar salad. Garlic knots were made to order gripe is that they weren't dripping in butter and garlic sauce but they were good and fresh. Salad was standard.

Margherita Pizza -- the most beautiful pizza in all the land

Mario's has quickly become my favorite pizza spot in Baltimore! I refuse to order form anywhere else since discovering it. To me, the true test of a good pizza is a restaurant's cheese and/or margherita pizza. Both from Mario's are simply phenomenal! I can eat a whole 12" of the margherita on my own --it is just THAT good. Crust is crispy and holds up to the generous amount of delicious sauce (they don't skimp on the sauce, LOVE them for this!), unlike those other pizza slices that immediately flop down when you pick them up and all the toppings fall off... that's the worst. They give just the right amount of mozzarella and basil too. Holy moly I'm drooling just thinking about it. Also, if you're a normal person and don't eat entire pizzas in one sitting like me, this pizza reheats super well! Crispy but still saucy and just plain perfection. I'm so so glad to have Mario's in the area. Pickup and delivery are always a breeze. Love that they sell single slices too. I'll soon be trying the subs if only I can break away from the pizzas for once. The meatballs are also delicious! Omg okay I'll stop now. Thank you Mario's for keeping me well fed during this pandemic!! #thankyouthursday

This restaurant is close to the Senator Theater. The food is amazing! We had the margarita pizza & it was terrific. The staff are friendly and very attentive. My family and I will certainly return here for a post movie meal.

I live 2 blocks south of Mario's. I've eaten nearly every pizza in a 1-mile radius (that's a lot of pizza) there is nothing that really compares. The dough the sauce and the cheese it all comes together to create that great pie! It's always clean, bright and the staff is always friendly and helpful. But it's all about the pizza and this is THE PLACE and THE PIE!

So far I've tried the "Buffalo wings" and the Fettucini Bolognese. The Fettucini dish was very well made. Good pasta, meat and sauce. Buffalo wings were not really Buffalo, just seasoned wings, with no sauce. The wings were soggy and tough :( Delivery was pretty fast and food was hot. Since the pasta was so good I'm going to try some other items. read more

Pizza was overpriced, very rude service, flies absolutely everywhere. I also noticed that many of the reviews are obviously done by family members and family of employees, so that makes me wonder what the actual rating for this place would be. Avoid eating here. Many other pizza options nearby that are more clean and welcoming. Very sketchy place. read more

My favorite pizza in the Towson area! Perfect every time and I love that they have a rewards program. It's my go to for lazy days or if I'm having people over. I ordered a fish sub from here tonight and it was ok. What I didn't like was that the fish fillet was on top of the bread, cheese and peppers, almost like you put meat on top of a salad. I just think they should put the fish on the bread? It is a sub. read more

Ordered online. That was easy to do. Pizza came with 2 of the 3 items I ordered. One of the items was supposed to be on half, but appeared on the entire pizza. The mushrooms were very skimpy, and rather tasteless. I live in a small rural town in Ohio and we have 3 local pizza establishments. I'd take any one of those three over Marios. read more

Ordered a pizza with capicola. Showed up 20 minutes late, cold, with slices of regular ham. Disgusting. I've never had service this bad. And I can't even call them to complain because no one is answering the phones. Busy night or not, this is unacceptable. Be very careful ordering from here. EDIT: Got in touch with the manager and he was cool about it. Refunded the cost of the pizza, so they do take responsibility. read more

Mario's is definitely my go-to pizza spot in Baltimore. I've ordered pizza here at least once a month and will continue doing so until I find something better, or move out of the area. The best part about it is how easy it is to order a pizza there online. They tell you it will be ready in 15 minutes, and they have it done on time. The staff has always been nice and ordering pizza from them has always been a snap. read more

I think that the reviewers leaving negative comments are people who think that corporate chain pizza (e.g. Dominos, Papa Johns) is the apex of pizza-making art. They're probably not happy because the crust at Mario's Original is thin, the sauce actually has flavor, and the cheese isn't laid on like a thick, gluey-rubbery blanket. If that's what you like, you won't like Mario's pizza. On the other hand, if you like pizza that actually tastes like pizza, you'll love Marios. I've had pizza from just about every place that'll deliver to Roland Park and nearly every pizza joint in Hampden, and nothing comes close to Mario's Original pizza. Delivery almost always arrives faster than the estimate (I usually use OrderUp, although you can order directly from Mario's web site) and when it arrives, it always knocks my socks off, whether it's just plain cheese or the topping-laden Godfather (my favorite). Great, great pizza and definitely on-par with some of the other best pizza places in Baltimore (Two Boots, Joe Squared, etc.). read more

I ordered two subs and an order of Italian ice to go. Not only was the order complete in 10 minutes but the Italian Cold Cut 10" sub was LOADED with peppers, onions, and meat. I couldn't even eat half the sub. The Italian ice-- also good, perfect on a hot Baltimore day. read more

Closest to the best NY style pizza I've found in the area. I've mostly had the pizza and wings. Not a fan of the wings because I don't like breaded wings. They're probably fantastic for anyone who does mind breaded wings. The pizza is so good!! I would eat a small pie in one sitting if my tummy allowed. The crust is thin and crisp and the pizza sauce has all the flavor. Give me one of their plan cheese pizzas any day and I'll be a happy camper. read more

I had the pleasure of working with the owner of Mario's last weekend for a parent luncheon during a sporting event. I had called the owner a few weeks prior to plan what I was thinking for the large group of 40 parents. Not only was the food delicious, everything was packaged in accordance with our Covid restrictions. The owner made 3 different types of sandwiches (Italian sub, turkey & cheese and a tasteful vegetarian sub. They were all served with the best Mediterranean salad I had ever eaten. Each meal included chips and a side of condiments and peppers. They were awesome! As a surprise, the owner sent us 2 huge containers of hummus that his wife had made for us. I will definitely use them for future large gatherings and will tell the athletic director about how wonderful they are to work with. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the lunch. Marios' is definitely my go to place while in the Baltimore area! read more

Now I had to really think about giving this restaurant a good review. I had placed my order at 4:30pm for a future pick up of 7:00pm. As I'm pulling up at 7pm I was told that the fax machine was out of paper and that they did not receive my order. I was told the wait would be 5-10 minutes. I waited until 7:20 before getting very frustrated with the service. I waited 20 mintues for an order that should have been ready at 7pm! I immediately got up, very upset and ready for voice my frustration. The owner was very kind and diffused the situation immediately. He was extremely courteous and explained the situation very well. I had come the day before and food was superb. Although I was upset the customer service was excellent and the food was splendid! I recommend calling to make sure your food is ready before you pick up to avoid any waits. Aside from the excess wait everything else was perfect. read more

Had been aware of Mario's for a few months, finally decided to give the place a try for the first time last week. Great food, as my wife and I really enjoyed our custom Sicilian pizza. This week we needed a quick bite to eat and ordered a couple of subs (meatball and chicken parm); both were quality choices. I have ordered a lot from here but have not done a review. I have had 1 from every part of the menu. The fries honestly nothing special just regular fries. The cheesesteak sub was delicious. I would say my only grip with it is that I wish the condiments were not top keep losing the tomatoes. The Calzone (meat) was filled with enough to get your money worth. Finally the pizza (cheese) was ok for me the dough was a bit under cooked. The 4 stars is due to everything the pizza and calzone being made from scratch. read more

I didn't know they won best slice in Baltimore from Food Network so tried it. I have driven by hundreds of times. This pizza is great. It is nothing fancy but great flavor and crust. The garlic knots are the best I've had. Salads are large and fresh. This is our go to pizza place now. read more

Don't order delivery from this place using Eat 24. Though I doubt this review will be seen because Yelp is in business with these restaurants now. I ordered from this place and received a confirmation via the eat24 app and email that my order has been recieved. After waiting and hour and 15 minutes I messaged Eat 34 who assured me they had talked to the driver and the food would arrive in 5-10 minutes. Of course that never happened. I messaged them again and they told me that driver was probably lying and that they would refund my money. That's all well and good but I'm still hungry. I dont know who Marios has working for them but either they or Eat 24 has some dishonest people working for them. read more

For past two years have ordered 1 or 2 times a month as I loved their thin crust and Sicilian. However, last two orders the quality just is unacceptable. Last time pizza was ice cold as was the chicken parm sub. This time ordered a frie, garlic knots, a chicken parm, wings and a small thin crust. Got two orders of cold, soggy fries, no garlic knots, the chicken parm was good, but pizza was cold again. Done with Mario's I am afraid. I would recommend Pasta Mista or Toss - never got anything cold from them and pizza is just as good if not better. read more

Mario's Original Pizza sets a new standard for pizzeria delivery and products. From their bacon, egg, and cheese pizza, to their lasagna, to their various deserts, Mario's never disappoints. Each time I order I try something different and I am NEVER disappointed. Had write this after trying their Sanpellegrino Blood Orange soda for the first time. BEST ORANGE SODA EVER!!! Delivery was fast and polite. Food is ALWAYS hot. Great spot. read more

Awesome Pizza shop with great New York style pizza. I picked up a salad and pizza the first day we lived in the neighborhood. When I called to place the order, they were the nicest folks at a restaurant I have ever talked to. When I picked up, they were again the nicest folks. Ben seemed to be the manager, and his father is the Mario who started it all. The pizza was very good; New York style so large slices with a soft dough, but not too soft. At first I thought the crust was a little dark like it had been overcooked, but it was absolutely perfect. Sauce was not too sweet like the chains. Mushrooms seemed like good quality mushrooms. Salad was great; only slight negative was their "house" italian dressing did not seem homemade, but it was very good nonetheless. read more

The pizza and salad that I ordered were fine. It was nothing special, but the price indicated that it would be. In addition to this, the delivery estimate was set to 1 hr and it took over 1.5 hours to receive my order. It didn't seem has high quality as you would want for the price you paid. read more

Hi -- I received a menu tucked in my mailbox & decided to give them a try. They had 2 pasta dishes for $19.99 -- so yummy. I got shrimp alfredo + my Mom got veal parm. We added a house salad which was large enough for 2. Garlic Knots were just OK -- dinner for 2 days !!! read more

My kids were thrilled when they saw Venice, since they just learned about it in school.
