Underground Pizza has been on food bucket list for a while now. Detroit style pizza never disappoints, and when you can't choose what kind of sauce you want, Underground Pizza does it all. It had a ton of cheese, pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon and the sauce was delicious. You will not be disappointed. It was $30 & $35 for them. Pricey for me but I have paid much more for food I did not like. As a dinner option with a couple of sides, they could feed for people. If you're looking for that deep dish, Chicago style pizza without having to travel there, this place may be what you're looking for. The pizza is pretty good. Service was really great when we went in recently. The gentleman was very friendly and helpful for whatever we needed. It's a pretty simple aesthetic with high top tables and stools. I do appreciate the high top high chair for my little guy! That was nice to have so that he was level with us at the table. Drink selection can be improved in my opinion but otherwise, no complaints. I frequent the downtown location of UPC but found myself in Towson and decided to stop in for some carry out. I ordered a half Tiger King (Meat Lovers) pizza which was $20. That may seem hefty for a half pie, but it was actually huge and thick, and I ate it for three days. That's a tasty deja vu. Service was great and the order came out quickly and piping hot. Love Detroit style pizza? This is the spot for you. Buttery thick crust? Yes please. I was worried the crust would overwhelm the pizza , or would be undercooked because of the heavy topping and sauce but it didn't. Sauce on top is a wild concept but it works. I really wanted to come last summer to try the crab pizza so I hope they run it back this summer. We ordered a full pepperoni / cheese and I enjoyed a half Bianca and Old Bay Garlic Parm Fries. My wife and I have been to the downtown Baltimore location a few years ago, sat outside, ordered the UPC Sampler and I'm sure their pizza, but never had a desire to revisit. We decided to check out this Towson location and decided to come since my wife discovered their gluten-free option. We ordered their buffalo wings extra crispy, which comes with carrots instead of celery sticks. The wings were great. We had just come back from Greece and hadn't eaten any wings in a month or so, but they definitely hit the spot. For my pizza, The Flag, I really enjoyed their signature red sauce. So good. This was our third time ordering from here. It was recommended by someone on Nextdoor in a conversation with someone looking for gluten-free pizzas. The first order tasted so delicious though we were kept waiting for more than an hour (apparently one of our pizzas had burnt so they had to start over). The order for two 1/2 pizzas was close to $50 and we were given a lousy $15 credit on our next order! Cheap, Cheap, Cheap! When we got home, the extra crabmeat topping was almost nonexistent. This review is for their takeout experience only: Unfortunately, Underground Pizza does not have a phone line but will take orders via their textline. I texted my order and drove to the store, knowing that the wait can otherwise be long. When I got there, I was informed that their text line was down and that they never got my text - though they curiously told me exactly what I had ordered in their next breath without my asking. So it's hard for me to know whether their text line was actually down or if they just weren't paying attention and lied about it. Regardless, I ended up waiting 35 minutes for the pizza because of this, which wouldn't be terrible if it was worth the wait. The pizza itself looked and smelled good when it first came out. However, by the time we got home (a 25 minute drive away), the bottom of the pizza had already become soggy from sitting in various liquids (juices from sauce and toppings etc.), which ruined what should have been a premium experience given its price point. We didn't finish our pizza. I guess that's why their pizzas are served on top of a rack in their restaurants? Unfortunately, the same experience/quality isn't replicated for take out diners (maybe having the sauce in a separate container can help with the moisture issues?) Lesson learned, no more take outs from Underground Pizza. The next time we're craving pizza, we'll either need to dine in at UPC or go somewhere else (JBGB is our current go-to for excellent NY-style pizzas - good for both dine-ins and take-outs!). Update: the pizza was better the next day after drying off the bottom overnight and crisping it up in the air fryer, though none of this should have been necessary for the pizza to be semi-enjoyable. read more

I lived in Towson for years and I'm so upset I am just finding this pizza place. I am very picky about my pizza and this place is amazing. The bread is fluffy but doesn't seem like excessive crust. The curly pepperoni is by far superior to any others and they did not short you on the sauce or the cheese. I am also dairy free and the vegan cheese was not an extra charge which was the best thing ever. The price is a bit higher than another place but it is worth it.
