This was our second time here and it was just as good as the last. We started with three garlic knots because of the AI generated review here. They were great as my teen gobbled them down. Their garlic bread comes with the salad and pasta so you could skip the knots and not miss a thing. The bread was a little fresher - as reviewed by my son. My son and I shared the Mediterranean salad which was yummy. Wish they had a balsamic vinaigrette but vinegar is always good. I asked for olives on the side. Got the green but not the kalamata on the side which I thought was funny. My son and I both got pizza. Plenty to share. Very flavorful. I got the pizza a La primavera because I sadly can't do tomatoes. They swapped the tomatoes for spinach. Yum! My husband's penne a la arrabbiata was yummy. We used the sauce to dip our bread in. Great food . We had pizza small 10 inch. Salads and garlic knots. And a Phili steak sandwich. Food arrived quickly and hot. What I noticed first was how clean the restaurant was. We have been coming to this restaurant for years. After not visiting for some time this year we decided to make our way this evening. The waitress was helping us through our order when we decided to get enough food to eat there and take some home. 2 pizzas, and a spaghetti with meat sauce. The pizza had an egregious after taste. For perspective: the crust tasted as if it had absorbed everything from the fridge, almost like old dough. The waitress asked for the manager to come and speak with us. The manager let us explain our experience and she gave us an antic-dote of her eating a slice of pizza earlier in the day and it was delicious .... The pizza was left at the table, the worst $60 we've spent for pizza ever. All this to say our 2 whole pizzas were awful but the managers slice she had earlier in the day.. that was delicious read more

My son and I went in Mario's yesterday ordered a medium pepperoni pizza. On one of the slices he notice a strand of hair. He pulled the hair from the cheese, which means it was cooked in it. I tell the waitress and she tells her manager. The manager say it's probably cheese because cheese stretches. I'm like what. Also it took the manager a while to come to our table and check. Ten minutes later she comes and I show her, she say the hair is on the top, I'm like no he pulled it out from the melted cheese now it would be on top. Then she says our oven is 500 degrees it would burned the hair. I'm like whose hair is it, then because as you can see I'm blonde. The only thing we wanted was an apology and we didn't get it. Still trying to explain about the oven. Never again we will eat there. NEVER!! read more

Marios used to make a great pizza in spite of it being a little pricey. Mamas closed so we would get Marios more often. Last time we went it just was eh. We've been eating frozen pizza and salads every week because the quality of food and service has gone down everywhere. Now Sals has finally opened and their pizza is okay and people are going wild just because its a new food place in RM. The price is better than Marios. But I wanted a greek pizza and called Marios. Got a small for $14 and change but if you pay cash they give you a discount. That was a nice surprise. But my pizza sucks. Theres nothing to it and they skimped on everything. Even the crust isn't there anymore. AND they have signs saying they've had to raise all their prices. I won't go back. It's a total disappointment and I can't say Sal's is anything special either. But Mario's is definitely gonna have a hard time competing with them at this point. It's a shame, really. I'd suggest getting what you want by making your own at home. read more

Just really good Italian food. I've been eating here for years now and everyone I bring always love it. The homemade mozzarella is great. Also the cheesesteak calzone is a favorite. My family stopped in after a couple days on the road and were pleased to find a place that would let unmuzzled guests dine like normal humans, a rarity to those of us living in tyrannical New Jersey. Not only was our waitress absolutely amazing but, the other waiter was absolutely perfect, chiming in on a lizard-themed joke with my 5 year old, as he walked past our table. THANK YOU! Now, the food- seriously, it exceeded our expectations. We got calzones, a Hawaiian pizza, a cheese-less pizza (lactose intolerant kids), bruschetta and a tuxedo cake. The waitress was not mistaken when she recommended the tuxedo cake over the oreo- so glad I took her word! This young lady certainly knows what she's talking about- even suggesting we swap out standard ingredients in our calzones for better flavor- spot on! FLY INFESTATION WARNING A friend did me a favor, and he chose Mario's as where to go for dinner. We sat at a booth. The flies were landing on the back of the booth by his head as we talked. Once our meal came, I had to wave away the flies with one hand while eating with the other. The meal was okay but the flies were awful. Traveling back north we stopped in Rocky Mount for the evening. Looking at restaurants on Yelp for a solid place to get some pick up from we saw Mario's pizza listed. Began to look at the menu and let me say it is an extensive menu... this is not just a pizza place... it is A Great Italian Restaurant!!! I ordered Mario's Chicken and it was out of this world good. My wife ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and it was fantastic as well. The service was great, I actually picked up a piece of tuxedo cheesecake on the recommendation of the nice lady that helped me with my order. The cheesecake topped off the dinner.
