Had Mario come out for a bid on refreshing some garden beds, thatching and aerating our yard. They removed the old bark, graded the gardens, put in a weed barrier, trim and river rock. Place looks 100% better. I considered the price fair for my 2/3 acre. They worked very hard during some rather cool weather. Will be hiring them again for 3 other projects I have in mind. read more

My landlord hired Mario's to clear out a section of the yard that had been neglected for a while, and was piled with rocks and bricks. They did an amazing job clearing the space, making it completely level and ready for new planting! I highly recommend them! Mario Jr. and his crew were very thorough, asking me follow-up questions about whether there were other sections of the yard that needed attention or whether we wanted to salvage any bricks. They worked quickly and with minimal impact to my day. My only regret is that I had to go to work before the crew was done and couldn't thank them in person. Thank you, Mario's!!! read more

I would have chosen ZERO stars if I could have! We hired Mario to do some landscaping. We had several bids from various local companies however Mario's was the lowest so we chose them. I now feel that choice was a mistake! The timeline for completion looked great to us however when that date was reached and they hadn't even completed 1/2 of the job we began to get frustrated. They showed up for a total of 7 hours of work in 4 days and they were supposed to be COMPLETED with the entire job in 5 days. Two of the days they never showed up at all. Nor did they have the courtesy to call, leaving us to wait at the house all day for them. This was a huge RED flag for us. He didn't seem to communicate to his "workers" well as they showed up without any knowledge of what the job was to entail. The work they did perform was not of the quality we were expecting and the even caused damage to some of our planter beds in the process. We communicated our concerns to Mario and he gave us felt to us to be excuses. We decided to terminate their services and had to hire new people to complete the job, fix their mistakes and clean up the huge mess they left behind. We received a bill for the total amount of the "estimate". We asked for an itemized bill for labor and equipment cost upon termination, however we were never provided with one. That was the last communication we had with them until we received a bill from a collection agency. As far as I'm aware, a company has to provide you with 3 bills and notification that you are being sent to collection before they are legally allowed to do so. In our opinion Mario's Yard Care is VERY unprofessional and poor communicators. They may be fine at yard care but I would NOT hire them to do any landscaping installations. read more

First of all, let me PLEASE say that this Yard Care business is NOT our dear friend and excellent Yard Care man and good businessman, Mario Pina from "Pinas Yard Care".. We made that mistake thinking that Mario's Yard Care was Mario Pina. ( He needed to to go take care of a very ill family member.). So, we called " Mario's Yard Care" and Cari the "Office Manager",said that she had been receiving many phone calls from people who thought their company was also Mario Pina -"Pinas Yard Care" So, I decided to give them a try..Mario Sr. came by, looked at the lawn and we discussed what I wanted done each week..( mow, trim, edging and blowing off patio, front breezeway and driveway. After meeting Mario Sr.and getting his estimate, I had already made my mind up that I wanted him to do our yard... Well, NO Mario Sr.came..Mario Jr. ( M.J.) and another fellow came..Although M.J. is a super nice kid, he and other worker just would NOT do the work. They just didn't work very hard. I asked him several times to trim everything that they couldn't mow, .And to blow, especially the front breezeway..Half the time they didn't do that..And they NEVER edged the front once.. But we were charged for it! I felt they needed to be "babysat" continuously.. Sigh... The office is only open from around 9-2:00...Who runs an office like that? Cari gave us excuses that she was working 2 other jobs..Well, that's not our problem. And she kept adding charges on our monthly bill...??? Like asking the crew to pick up a few twigs, we were charged $12.00..??? She said the weight of their load would cost them...For some twigs?? Just so many ridiculous and nonsensical charges.. Also, we needed repair on our irrigation system.. Some roots had grown into the water main..WOW!!! I found a company who fixed it correctly and at a very reasonable price..He went to classes for his irrigation business . Well, Mario's and his crew quoted 3-4 times more then it should have been... So, I just wanted to let you know to be VERY cautious if you hire this company. You will NOT get what you asked for with them, .and good luck trying to talk to Mario Sr...There is NO communication in that family at all..Their business reminds me of a circus..Isn't the customer always right anymore?? We paid for that service and never got what we asked for, AND what was estimated for..Then next, receiving a nasty note from Cari..They did not come here once during the week of the 4th of July.. Of course I KNOW people take the holiday's off, but we were never informed that they were NOT coming at all..But when they didn't show up the next few days, I sent an email wanting to know when they were coming to mow...That is when we received her nasty note saying that I had called her answering machine ENOUGH to know that THEY take the holidays off!!! Excuse me? ENOUGH?? When a customer is NOT told anything about taking the entire week off of course customers will call. As a matter of fact, she said she would send them out "tomorrow".. They never showed..No phone call and no email.That is when we found a new yard business...So, Buyer beware!! read more

I hired Mario and Jose to tear down an old deck that was 48' long by 8 1/2 ' wide of old, rough lumber. They did a fantastic job. It was difficult, hard labor and they accomplished this, including taking out 20' of sub structure in about five hours. Upon my request, they came back the following week and landscaped the 20' section where the substructure had been taken out and laid down gravel and a retaining barrier for me. I couldn't have been happier with their work. Mario and Jose are cheerful, experienced, hard working Professionals that I plan on using again and again in the future. They are also very reasonable with their prices. read more
