    Chicken Salad Orange Souffle Plate

It's a great place to do a solo lunch or lunch with friends. Was happy to see that service and food remains excellent despite Pandemic reset. The popover and consume also continue to be a part of the lunch. The day I went, I was solo dining and aside from enjoying my lunch,(which I usually bring part home) I also enjoyed seeing others meeting again in such a civilized and cheerful place. I ordered the Chicken Salad Orange Souffle Plate, perfect! Continued best wishes to all the staff!

    Burger and fries....it was good!

I was very pleasantly surprised by Mariposa. It's a family favorite for my girlfriend so she wanted to go on our day off. Only 2 other people there . Well done decor. Servers were really nice, responsive and helpful. The meal starts with fresh popovers and strawberry butter seriously happy, and then an amazing cup of chicken consommé that was incredibly full flavored and completely clear....skills here. I had the burger and fries, both of which were done very well and the burger was perfectly cooked, fries were great too. She had the roasted turkey Panini made with thinly sliced house roasted turkey, with house chips. Another perfectly done sandwich, and the chips were very good. Carrot cake to finish that was a bit too much frosting for me, but not overly done, and the cake and frosting were very good. The bottle of Veuve we split made for a perfect lunch before a relaxed walk down the Mag Mile :)

I reserved a lunch table for one on Open Table and arrived at 11:30. I enjoyed complementary chicken consomme (courtesy of the chef), a popover and strawberry butter, a small pot of tea and steak frites with a substituted salad for the fries. My check was $34.57. Food was great. My server, Adrian, was attentive and prompt. Bussing is on point. Lovely decor. I wish the view were more romantic. But this was a good experience and price was not too crazy. Recommended!

This is my favorite Neiman Marcus restaurant. The view is great because it's on the top floor of the Neimans on Michigan Ave. The staff is amazing. They are so polite and efficient. The best part is obviously the food. It's all extremely fresh and great quality. Each meal starts with popovers and broth, both very refreshing. My favorites include the grilled shrimp salad, Tuscan turkey sandwich, and chicken paillard.

The amazing carrot cake at Mariposa; seriously, folks, four people could easily share this!

I recently lunched at Mariposa with clients; it was not my first time here, but it was, as ever, wonderful. The décor is tranquil and modern, in soft, warm neutrals; the gents is very handsomely fitted with greys and tobacco browns. The service was excellent, throughout; our waitress, Jessica, was attentive, polite, friendly, and courteous. She took very good care of my clients, and made sure my water glass was always filled. I like to drink water, so this is very important to me. I ordered the steak frites and they arrived perfectly cooked, piping hot, with spinach. I asked for some Dijon mustard and it came with the meal, but on the side (which was very nice). In France, of course, they call it 'moutarde traditionelle' which means, essentially, 'traditional mustard'. They're not kidding, either. Now, I love spinach. It's so yummy. I should have liked a bit more, but that's just me. I love spinach! If I may suggest...some creamed spinach, as an option? Just a suggestion, of course. Luncheon begins with a small cup (too small, in my opinion) of very good, very hot chicken broth, served in a demitasse. Oh, it was so delicious! I love home-made broth; this was a big 'plus' for me! Now, about the dessert. Oh, baby. Oh, baby, baby, how was I supposed to know.... Hit me baby one more time! Sing it, girlfriend! We ordered a piece (one!) of carrot cake and hot diggity dog! It was ENORMOUS and DELICIOUS! Yeah baby yeah! Here's a helpful tip: One serving will easily accommodate four persons. Really. I mean that, sincerely. NO ONE can eat a serving of this cake, alone. Well, I suppose they could, but.... The coffee was also very good, strong and hot, just the way I like it. (don't go there) I love this restaurant. Don't let any tourists in.

The mister and I are always down for a Socialite Babe lunch, and this is the perfect spot. Service--from beginning to end--is top notch. The interior is bright and stylish with Calder tapestries flanking the walls. Yummy, strong cocktails. Beautifully prepared and flavorful food. If breakfast is at Tiffany's...lunch is at Neiman Marcus!

Very nice place to have a rest when you are tired while shopping. Excellent service and good food. The only complain is working hours are too short. Haha:)

It was a treat just getting to the restaurant. I window shopped all the way there. #jomalone The popover was to die for. I couldnt make up my mind on which drink I fancied most so I got both. Next day I have some free time I will add Mariposa to the agenda.

    Seriously, that popover

Great food to be in a department store. High end healthy food, great portion sizes for the health conscious. Great place for lunch.

We ordered the venison burger and, honestly, I was hesitant at first because I was worried it might be too gamey. However, our server did a great job explaining what to expect, and she was absolutely right. The venison patty was juicy, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and efficient throughout our meal. They also have an impressive selection of signature cocktails. I didn't end up trying one because the drink I was interested in sounded a bit too strong for lunch, but it's definitely given me a reason to come back later for drinks. Overall, I left as a very happy customer and would gladly return.

To be fair, we've been here before and absolutely LOVED it. However, this past visit on 6/19 was…read morerather problematic. After we sat down, our server took her sweet time getting to us and was largely absent the entire visit while the servers for the others tables were attentive and present as I've come to expect. We started with the Crispy Brussels and Burrata Toast which was an amazing and fun combination of flavors textures with the sherry glaze and pickled onions providing a perfect counter to the richness of the cheese. Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.

Recently, my husband and I celebrated the anniversary of the day we met. We don't always mark the…read moreoccasion, but this year it was a milestone worth celebrating. We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: - Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. - Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. - Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. - Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. - Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: - Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. - Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. - Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

I was there the other week (I've been here at least five times before), and a busser--not our…read morewaiter--started clearing both of our plates before we were finished eating. We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.
