I've got to give 5 stars for this place based just off the service alone! We arrived and were greeted warmly by the maitre'd, and then taken to our table by a lovely server. After checking our coats, we sat down and ordered some cocktails to get started. I ordered the Hendricks gin and chartreuse cocktail (the Jealous Green, it might be called?) and my friend ordered the pumpkin and bourbon cocktail. We both agreed they were probably the best we'd ever had. On to the food: I ordered the turkey chilli starter for my main, to which they obliged very willingly, and my dining partner ordered the burger, cooked medium. Both our meals came out in good time and were absolutely delicious. The chilli was spiced perfectly and the red kidney beans were still firm enough to be speared with a fork, which I appreciated- mushy beans make me sad! My friend devoured his hamburger, so I'm assuming he enjoyed it too. ;) I didn't order dessert (though believe me, I was tempted to!) but my friend had the creme brulee with pumpkin cream and just about fainted after his first bite- he raved about how delicious it was for hours afterwards. The items I ordered were lukewarm, like they came from the buffet. The second runner completely forgot my request for a few condiments. If I'm in a diner, so what? But, not here, especially in a great city like Chicago. Sigh... Definitely still prefer the look and feel from before the remodel. It's much colder now, like the chicken sausages that came to my table.
