    Was visiting Chicago for a conference and looking for a place close to my hotel to have dinner. The Marq hit the mark! Get the carrots and whipped feta. This dish will knock your socks off. How they're able to make a completely vegetarian dish so amazingly tasty and fulfilling, I don't have words. That is all that I need to say. Really great service and loved sitting outside and eating.

    Came here for lunch and it was quite delicious. Had a business trip to Chicago and this was near my work place and recommended by a coworker. It wasn't busy for lunch when we went at 11:00, however, it started getting busy at 12:00. My coworker recommended the Rueben. And it was delicious. It was hearty. The pastrami wasn't thin sliced, it was thick cut and I've never seen it made that way, but it was good. The sauerkraut was good too. The side of fries were delicious. The fries were really crunchy but not overly crunchy and had some substance inside. It was a good (filling) lunch! Definitely want to go back for dinner.

    Root and Roast Chicken was outstanding as were the Corn Ribs! Our server, Abby was outstanding. Steak Frites was average but the fries that come with it are out of this world.

    Came by for lunch on Friday. Watched some of a March Madness game. Had a beer; a porter. Short Rib grilled cheese and then an Arnold Palmer. They use multiple cheese varieties which is good and the beef tasted like it was premium. They were busy during lunch but there were not too many patrons.

    Stopped by for lunch while visiting Chicago and the beautiful Marquette building. Was happy to find a place for a quick lunch that wasn't completely deep-fried. They had vegetarian options and were also able to adapt for my friend and my gluten intolerances. There were several things that sounded great to me, but I went with the falafel, and instead of a sandwich they put it in a bowl- it was delicious with a great pairing and veggies and sauce- yum! Came with fries but was told those are not gf so got the sweet potato fries instead and they were great- a thicker cut and a great aioli dipping sauce. My friend enjoyed her soup and fries too. Service was friendly and fast, cute spot I definitely recommend.

    My travels brought me to Chicago and various twist of fate brought me to The Marq. My friends and I started with the aguachile - which was a fantastic combination of avocado, cucumber, shrimp, shallots, mixed into some amazing salsas. Served with housemaid tortilla chips, I am totally glad that our server recommended this. Light, well presented, and flavorful, it was an excellent indicator of what was to come. The other starter that we ordered was the charcuterie. Not much to say here as it's hard to do anything particularly innovative or creative with a charcuterie. It looked fantastic, though. I ordered the steak frites which definitely exceeded my expectations. It was among the most tender and flavorful cuts of hanger steak I have ever had. Cooked to the perfect temperature, it did not need either the chimichurri or the Bernaise, which were served on the side. That being said, the chimichurri was a bit bland, and the Bernaise was a bit watery further emphasizing how well this steak performed on its own. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. A perfect complement to the steak. The wine list was a bit underwhelming, but there were decent options at very reasonable prices. Our server, was amazing instruct the perfect balance of attentiveness while allowing me and my friends to catch up with each other with minimal interruption. The inside of the restaurant was vibrant, but incredibly loud. Our hostess was too kind to give us some outdoor seating, which was perfect for having a conversation despite missing out on some of the awesome ambience on the inside. To be honest, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect since there were a number of reviews giving very mixed opinions but I was very pleased with the experience and do not regret my relatively random decision to have dinner here with my friends.

    The Marq, is a quaint restaurant in the heart of The Loop. Staff is lovely, I stopped by for Breakfast and had the Shakshuka. It was a delight with a perfect amount of spice and the short rib was cooked to perfection!

    Convenient location but The Marq's food is very average. Best dish was the chicken bites which were crispy & juicy. The steak salad was a bit too rare (asked for medium rare) and the salad greens were too soggy. Tacos could've been better. They looked decent but tasted so bland. Also although our servers were very nice, the wait to get our food was long (50+ minutes).

    They were able to accommodate our party with a baby! Once inside there were other celebrations going on (it was a Friday night). We actually picked this place for the salmon options but by the time we arrived (around 730p) they were out of salmon! The large party of twenty or so near us had some salmon florentine orders. Our food actually came quick but their bussers were really fast at clearing our empty plates. Food was delicious. We got their burgers, mac and cheese to share, and had to switch one salmon entree for a chicken.

    I have dined at this place a few times for lunch and the food has been consistently great. Service was good too. Definitely recommend.

A disclosure is that the chef doesn't make your food in front of you, the show is to see all the kitchen staff in action, you have front row seats to where the magic happens. A unique experience, the food was super delicious with a mix of flavors from around the world. I left with an amazing experience in terms of food and flavors, but my greatest lesson was how hard the kitchen staff works and the passion: the orchestrated action to keep with the orders, the constant heat from the kitchen, the attention to details, and the love for flavor perfection. This past week was my second pilgrimage to Boka, and I was stoked as ever. We ordered some non-alcoholic drinks, a few appetizers, and our entrees (duck and black truffle chicken). We had a nice discussion with the waiter and shared our enthusiasm and excitement with him. We shared that this was our return to my safe culinary haven, and I was prepared to be dazzled again. And dazzled I was. The chicken was phenomenal. The flavors were amazing and so poignant, and the tenderness of chicken made you really question if you were eating chicken at all. Everything was so moist and tender, and each bite was a ballet of flavor in your mouth. The duck, although not the star of the show, was hearty and delicious as well. The parsnip puree added an earthiness complexion to each slice of duck. The kicker of the night was when our server brought us our bill at the end. He gifted us complimentary menus of what we ordered that night, paired with a generous "Welcome Back" and the date of our wonderful evening. The restaurant has a great atmosphere too. It feels perfect for a date night without being so dim that you can barely see your food.
