We love a shareable meal and Marisco Boys delivers amazing fish platters for a table! Along with cocktails and appetizers the different seafood preparations, fried, braised, grilled, were a visual and taste sensation for 7! Great service made for a nice evening. I want to go back to try the tacos and vampiros!

I chasing the best ceviche in the valley and wanted to try Marisco Boys. It was decent. Our server was attentive and restaurant is nice. It wasn't busy when we went which was actually nice. We also tried the mussels with chorizo which was good. But several mussels were not open when we checked. Bummer.

Great food, fresh seafood, and excellent service! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Our server, Ivan, was amazing--friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. He really made the experience even better. We'll definitely be back!

I had been anticipating attending a concert in downtown Phoenix for some time, having bought the tickets months in advance. A meal before the concert was strategically a wise choice, but which dining venue would suffice? While brainstorming with my fellow concertgoer, we had both seen the recent New Times feature on best new places to eat in the area. Marisco Boys popped up as the most enticing, especially due to its proximity to downtown and the fact that we are both seafood lovers. I made a reservation well in advance knowing when the day of the Duran Duran concert came around, my partner-in-crime and I would be "Hungry Like the Wolf"! We sat in a booth at what was now a classy remodeled Coco's restaurant that they really managed to "swankify" (if such a word even exists). Our server Ivan was overly gracious and helpful in explaining the menu. We decided to start with the ceviche so we could chat and nosh. The crisp tortillas perfectly complimented the tangy seafood bites, and I was thrilled to see we had chunks of octopus in the mix. There was some debate about what to order and share next, so we considered the deep-fried octopus and the pescado, but instead chose the Camarones Zarandeados (head-on mesquite-grilled shrimp). I was completely thrilled with the Camarones dish once I tried it. The mesquite smoke combined with the savory, salty, complex sauce on the shrimp was a vibrant flavor bomb! The only thing I feel could have added to the dish was maybe a starchy accompaniment. Maybe a polenta or something to break up the shrimp-meat feast and give your taste buds a short reprieve. Otherwise, a stellar dish and memorable dining experience. I intend to return and try the Pescado Zarandeado, because I'm certain the magic of the mesquite grill would be evident in that fish. I understand why Marisco Boys was recognized as one of the ten best new restaurants in 2025. The food and service speak for themselves. We were told they were working in a brunch menu, which I can only imagine will be wild. Do yourself a favor and make a visit to Marisco Boys. "The wild (marisco) boys are callin' on their way back from the fire..."

I was excited to try Marisco Boys because we are big fans of Taco Boys. We opted to go for restaurant to try out some items on the menu. We actually found several enticing options on the menu that we almost opted out of the restaurant week menu. Let me say a few things, you've got to like a woodsy/mild smoked food style and seafood. If you don't, you'll have a hard time enjoying this place. I would also recommend making a reservation if you do plan on going here. The ambiance and decor were cute and upscale. But, what's great is that the prices of the food didn't that type of cost associated with it. I'm not a big drinker so didn't try any of the cocktails but I imagine it tastes good. For apps, we had ceviche and the spicy butter clams. The ceviche was good, one of the best things we ate. It was tasty, dynamic, and balanced. Lots of flavors but in a good way. The clams were way too small to be meaningful as a dish. I tasted everything else but the clams. For main courses, we had pescado a la talla and surf and turf. The pescado had two sauces, green citrus herb and a red chipotle mole. The fish was meaty, white fleshed, and both sauces were great. They offered nice variety of flavors to the dish. The surf and turf was a dry rub prime fillet with buttered grilled prawns. The prime fillet was cooked to a perfect medium rare but the 2 prawns were small, dry, and mushy. Overall, the dishes were seasoned really nicely - balanced yet flavorful, but also know smacking you in the face. Execution is very high for the dishes. While there are dishes I wouldn't get again, there are others I would. Excited to try more items the next time we stop in.

I have enjoyed Taco Boys in the past, and being a lover of seafood I was anxious to try their new place, Marisco Boys. I think this building used to be a Coco's, and they've done a really great job of updating. There's some great lighting fixtures, a Long bar with cool lighting on the edge, and lots of plants. She had a great server who helped to guide me when I had questions about what to order. Several good choices on the cocktail menu, and with though I only looked briefly, it looked like there were quite a few wines to choose from as well. There are so many great options for seafood. I can't remember the names of the cocktails we ordered - so sorry! We also started off with guacamole and chips with our cocktails. Hubby knew right away he wanted the grilled mahi mahi, which was served with cilantro rice and sliced marinated veggies. The veggies kind of look like I'm bigger version of what you find in ceviche. I didn't try the rice or veggies, but I tried the fish and it was amazing! I should mention the portion was also huge - - twice the size that you might find in other restaurants. I was torn between a few things and asked our server to help. I ended up ordering the chicharron de pulpa, which is fried octopus. It is served with sliced tomatoes and avocado puree and a side of flour tortillas. I did like the octopus even though I'm normally not one to choose fried seafood. On the tortilla with the avocado puree and the tomatoes it was delicious! I give Marisco Boys a thumbs up, but I will order the mahi-mahi next time, as it was better than the side octopus.

Cool newly renovated restaurant Had the shrimp cocktail. Was $18, excellent! Tons & tons of shrimp. Can't wait to try the rest of menu, food coming out looked amazing. Wish they offered cocktail with octopus, squid options.

First let me start off by saying the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL!! We unfortunately did not have the most pleasant experience. It could've been the server, but my order was wrong two times! I didn't bother to tell him the second time since he gave a weird reaction the first time.. so I didn't eat what I wanted to eat. The fish taco was really good and the oysters were good though. Drinks were good and the bartender was very friendly.

First, I'm impressed with what they were able to do with a building that clearly used to be a chain restaurant. The decor is clean and modern, so kudos for that. Service was friendly and quick, but still relaxed enough for the casual elegant experience I think they're going for. I didn't try the drinks this evening, but the options looked good and the bar fully stocked. I would go back for the fried octopus alone--so delicious and well prepared! The whole fried tilapia was also good, but it seemed like the portion was strangely smaller than I expected. Lots of sides and the showy fried fish, but with the fillets cut off, I felt like I was missing some of the meat. The head on shrimp were also good, but I had one that was a little undercooked. Much more generous on the shrimp plate though! I would try them again.

Love that the taco boys have done so well they could expand to a mariscos line of business. The atmosphere is a much fancier spot and service. The food was all terrific. Highly recommend the aguachile shrimp especially if you like spice. They were wonderful. The ceviche tostada was piled high and my picture was only the leftover second tostada worth. Great flavor especially with the mango. Cocktail menu had tons of options and a great Mexican beer selection.

Super flavorful food, the chiles were so mouthwateringly delicious and full of flavor! The shrimp plate was also very tasty. The service from our server was mid, not rude or anything just not very interactive and also made us wait a long time to pay at the end. Other than that the location is good and lots of parking and inside the restaurant is very modern and nice.

Tried the yellow tail tostada, tostada embarazada, camarones zarandeados, mussels, and flan. Everything was incredible Margs and jalapeño margs were excellent. Highly recommend and will be back. After a morning at the art musem, I thought I would find us some lunch. We really wanted to try the place nextdoor to Marisco Boys, but the wait was insanely long, so we figured we would give this a try. We have not tried Taco Boys but thought.. let's give this a shot. The remodel is lovely, but it's still so clearly an old diner; when we sat down, I told my husband this had to have been a Denny's or Coco's.. a quick Google search confirmed that it indeed was a Coco's. Service was efficient, but our waiter was by far the most unfriendly, non-personality person I've ever come across. That made for multiple awkward moments. Our server also noticed that there was one taco that we had one bite out of, and I even made mention to him that we did not like it and explained why, and he just looked at us. No offer to remove from the bill, no thank you for the feedback, just a blank stare. The food I would say was around a generous 6-7/10. The ceviche was quite odd, and although we love unconventional food, the soy sauce component and lack of lime was.. different. My husband ordered the 10 camarones and was very surprised by the presentation which I think could have been more accurately described, but they were still very fresh & seasoned well. I tried out the marlin taco, new to the menu, and got through one bite, unfortunately. It was like dried wet catfood with a ton of cheddar.. odd. The shrimp taco had too much deep-fried batter, but flavours were pretty good. RIce and beans were authentic and a great add-on for only $5; the portions were huge. I think that more condiments and slices of lime would really be amazing as the flavour profiles are there. I do think that this is a very new restaurant, and as such, with time and feedback there is a huge potential here. read more

I work right around the corner from Taco Boys downtown. Solid food, so when I saw they were turning the old Coco's on 7th St into Mariscos...I was waiting. Well today was my day and yep. I'm going back. Small menu but tasty sounding options. My coworker and 8 split a few options. First of all, the remodel is gorgeous. The backlit bar top. The wood slat ceiling & walls with lit accents. Gorgeous black velvet bar stools and chairs...all are really lovely. I could go on about the small details, but checkout out for yourself. They are open but still have some finish work (I'm in the construction industry, so might be hyper aware). We have ceviche mixto...hands down one of the tastiest ceviches I have eaten. So refreshing and the spicy dark soy that came with was such a great compliment. Yellowtail tostada...wow. Fresh and tasty. The garlic aioli that was so lightly spread on the tostada shell really elevated the dish. We also had the mussels con chorizo, and while we liked it as well, a little bread might have helped to slurp up the broth. Still so tasty. Service was lovely. I can't wait to go back. It was a bit pricey for lunch, but I feel like the fresh fish was worth it. read more

This is not a review, it is a love letter... Juan and his team have really done it again! Stepping into the restaurant is like visiting your hip and cool cousin. It's beautiful and intimate but you're still treated like family. Everyone here is passionate about the entire experience. I have been here twice in the last two weeks and have tried about 90% of the menu at this point. My favorite items include the yellowtail tostada, the coctal de camaron, crudo, and the Baja taco. The Pescado Zarandeado can easily feed three or four people. The only dish I wasn't a huge fan of is the calamari. The cocktail menu is innovative and showcases the bartenders true abilities. If you ask nicely he will make you the best skinny spicy margarita. (I refuse to gate keep it and keep begging them to add it to the menu). read more

This restaurant was incredible ! The service was great and the food was even better - the seafood was very fresh. It felt like I was in Mexico City! Everything we had was great - the crispy rice tuna, ceviche mixto, calamari and we tried a bunch of their tacos - the gobernador and shrimp tacos were phenomenal ! Highly recommend. read more

We stopped by here last Saturday night and had an awesome meal. This place will not disappoint if you like seafood. For appetizers we had the oysters and the hamachi They were perfectly prepared and so delicious We had Mojarra Frita whole tilapia with cucumber, tomato, lime and pickled onions. It not only tasted delicious but the presentation was beautiful. We also have a few like cocktails and they were great. We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. We first visited Marisco Boy's when it had just opened, and we instantly fell in love with the food and service. Our server Roberto took such great care of us that we've asked for him every time since then, he's the best. Friendly, attentive, and always make sure we're having a good time. It's now quickly became our favorite weekly spot, and we look forward to coming back every time. We've also had the pleasure of meeting Pedro, Diego, and Miguel, and they've all been so sweet and welcoming. As for the food, it's amazing and always fresh. I'm so fortunate to live so close to this new Mariscos restaurant. I've only ever gotten takeout, but everyone has been super friendly and the interior of the restaurant is gorgeous. The ceviche mixto is insanely good. This is the only place I've had ceviche from where there's enough of it to enjoy the next day. You gotta get the bowl though. It's cheaper than basically every other place I've been and it's super fresh and spicy. I'm eating their rice and beans right now and both are fantastic. Sure it's "just" rice and beans, but they are so flavorful and love the addition of jalapeños in the beans. Next time I'm going to get their 7 seas soup and see how it compares to another popular Mariscos place in the area. I have a feeling the Mariscos boys are going to take it, but will update when I try it. Also their cocktails look amazing and I look forward to trying some of them in the near future. read more

It was good, but basic and overpriced. Could have had more flavor and lemons or limes on the side or garnishes... probably won't go back. I ordered ceviche and thought it was going to be typical shrimp ceviche in lime juice. It was shredded crab and barely any flavor. It came with some soy sauce but it was too overwhelming and I only put a little bit. Also, the food was almost too spicy to eat and it was hella cold in there... bring a snow jacket! I also like the Taco Boys vibe a lot better, it's more upbeat and exciting, alive, and the food is bomb! read more

We were looking for a mexican food and found this little gem. The food was so amazing. We started off with the peppers stuffed with shrimp and bacon wrapped and finished with fish and shrimp tacos. Everything was delicious and had great spice to it. Definitely will return! read more

A far different vibe than Taco Boys. The food itself is great but way overpriced. Chula, Nelson's, and other established seafood places are considerably cheaper for similar dishes. $20 for a small plate of calamari is ridiculous. I don't mind paying more for premium but for $6 more ($14 is reasonable price) for smaller portions is off putting. read more

Went here tonight for the first time. Service is really bad, not really attentive and the server looked like he'd rather be somewhere else. Also this food is not authentic Mexican mariscos. The rice is so bland and the food just isn't good. They make the presentation of the food good but it lacks flavor and authenticity. I'd say save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

We're so excited to have Marisco Boys in the neighborhood!! Such a beautiful space with amazing vibes. We got the yellowtail tostada, ceviche de Sierra, the octopus, and a few tacos. Everything was fresh and delicious - with plenty of kick. Our server was so sweet and attentive as well. We haven't found anything like this in Phoenix yet and we are so excited to have it in walking distance. Thank you for having us! read more

Ambiance is amaizing! Still deciding what I think about the service. Beware of alcohol beverages as they serve them with a large amount of ice and around 4oz of fluid. The drinks do taste very good! I'm not a big drinker so I still gave 4 stars. Filete Yaqui sea bass - tasty yet doesn't meet the 35$ price point. Baja tacos - highly recommended Dorado - highly recommended Ceviche mixto - outstanding & highly recommend Ceviche De Kampachi - highly recommend Stew - outstanding & highly recommended [portion was small but after eating a full portion of Ceviche by myself it was plenty] read more

I had a bug in my drink mistakes happen I get that but then the drink took about ten minutes to remake. I then ordered augachiles and the portion is comically small not even 1/4 pound of shrimp! They said I could talk to chef if I had a complaint and I agreed, he never came out .I go to mariscos places regularly a few with just as nice of atheistic but never have been disappointed like this. read more

Wow. This place knocked us out! The chef delivers gourmet level recipes with exquisite taste touches. We had to ask for the chef, Castro, to come see us, so we could compliment him on the food he has created. (He was shy and modest). We tried a variety of dishes - all apps - and were blown away by every one... Yellowtail tostada (a mound of delicious fish and delicately seasoned taco), tuna sashimi, ceviche de kampachi with homemade tacos, and the masterpiece, an insanely good grilled shrimp dish, perfectly tender, large butterflied shrimp with so many subtle herbed flavors. Food was delicious, portion size was decent for the price depending on what dish was ordered. However, the service was next to nonexistent. As a server myself, I was very surprised that our server not only never introduced himself, but walked past our table consistently throughout the night without checking on us. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, we were asked "are you ready to order?". No greet, no introduction. We ordered more drinks from the food runner, which were never brought, resulting in us having to flag down our server to reiterate our drink order while pretty much finished with our food. When finished with the meal, the server was quick to notice & buss our obviously stacked plates, but left us for about 20+ minutes afterward with empty waters & drinks to then again FLAG down a buss boy to ask for our check. Long story short, service needs serious, serious work. Genuinely hoping for the best, because again, the food was great, and the restaurant is young. Being in AZ many restaurants with piping hot dishes don't often have well circulating A/C but their A/C was excellent! So the hot food did not make you feel uncomfortabley warm while eating.
