We've always loved Taco Boys, so since it was Good Friday and we couldn't have meat, we decided to finally try Marisco Boys. Honestly, this place deserves every bit of the 5 stars. Everything we ordered was so good. The calamari was crispy outside, tender inside, and the black sauce was packed with flavor. The swordfish skewers were juicy and cooked perfectly, and the sauce with them was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The Camarones Zarandeados were super fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You could really taste the quality. We also had the Gobernador taco, Baja Fish Taco, and the Vampiro, and all three were delicious. The Gobernador was cheesy, flavorful, and had great texture. The Baja Fish Taco was fresh, light, and honestly tasted like something you'd get by the beach. The Vampiro was recommended by our waiter and ended up being such a good choice too. We were unsure about the corn flan at first, but it ended up being amazing. It sounded unusual, but it worked so well and was definitely worth trying. Omar took great care of us all night. He had such a great attitude, gave really good recommendations, checked on us often, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a more classy sit-down feel compared to Taco Boys, while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. Highly recommend this place. I've been here several times for brunch and usually have a good experience. The restaurant is typically pretty empty those times and I have yet to come here on a busy time until Mothers Day. I had a 5:30 reservation, and it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks once we ordered, which also took a while. They were understaffed clearly but didn't seem to have much of a sense of urgency. Ordered a dozen oysters then informed 10 minutes later they had run out of oysters. Again we got there very early, so that was another disappointment. The aquachile was tasty, but be aware the shrimp are essentially arriving to your table raw, they do not pre marinate them, which turned my mom off of the dish. After you let it sit there while you eat the other food it becomes more "cooked" in the acid but such was either not explained or shouldn't be the norm. I am getting suspect about the quality of seafood they use in general. The shellfish is good. But it's pretty clear they do not use "sushi grade" tuna here for their raw tuna dishes judging by the appearance and texture of the fish. Pretty sure they buy pre-frozen and pre-diced cubes of fish as all their tuna dishes use the same cubes. At the end of the day, they did remove $35 from the tab for being out of oysters. But between the mishaps with the food, very long wait times for drinks, and overall lackluster service and no managerial accountability for it being Mothers Day, I can't say I would ever come back here. read more

Was craving seafood and this was near me so I stopped in. There is a parking lot attached which was really convenient and easy. We were seated right away and our waiter was kind and attentive. He recommended the calamari which was crispy and good. My tacos were huge! 2 were definitely enough to fill you up. Want to try their plates next. Good flavor. I had been anticipating attending a concert in downtown Phoenix for some time, having bought the tickets months in advance. A meal before the concert was strategically a wise choice, but which dining venue would suffice? While brainstorming with my fellow concertgoer, we had both seen the recent New Times feature on best new places to eat in the area. Marisco Boys popped up as the most enticing, especially due to its proximity to downtown and the fact that we are both seafood lovers. I made a reservation well in advance knowing when the day of the Duran Duran concert came around, my partner-in-crime and I would be "Hungry Like the Wolf"! We sat in a booth at what was now a classy remodeled Coco's restaurant that they really managed to "swankify" (if such a word even exists). Our server Ivan was overly gracious and helpful in explaining the menu. We decided to start with the ceviche so we could chat and nosh. The crisp tortillas perfectly complimented the tangy seafood bites, and I was thrilled to see we had chunks of octopus in the mix. There was some debate about what to order and share next, so we considered the deep-fried octopus and the pescado, but instead chose the Camarones Zarandeados (head-on mesquite-grilled shrimp). I was completely thrilled with the Camarones dish once I tried it. The mesquite smoke combined with the savory, salty, complex sauce on the shrimp was a vibrant flavor bomb! The only thing I feel could have added to the dish was maybe a starchy accompaniment. Maybe a polenta or something to break up the shrimp-meat feast and give your taste buds a short reprieve. Otherwise, a stellar dish and memorable dining experience. I intend to return and try the Pescado Zarandeado, because I'm certain the magic of the mesquite grill would be evident in that fish. I understand why Marisco Boys was recognized as one of the ten best new restaurants in 2025. The food and service speak for themselves. I was excited to try Marisco Boys because we are big fans of Taco Boys. We opted to go for restaurant to try out some items on the menu. We actually found several enticing options on the menu that we almost opted out of the restaurant week menu. Let me say a few things, you've got to like a woodsy/mild smoked food style and seafood. If you don't, you'll have a hard time enjoying this place. I would also recommend making a reservation if you do plan on going here. The ambiance and decor were cute and upscale. But, what's great is that the prices of the food didn't that type of cost associated with it. I'm not a big drinker so didn't try any of the cocktails but I imagine it tastes good. For apps, we had ceviche and the spicy butter clams. The ceviche was good, one of the best things we ate. It was tasty, dynamic, and balanced. Lots of flavors but in a good way. The clams were way too small to be meaningful as a dish. I tasted everything else but the clams. For main courses, we had pescado a la talla and surf and turf. The pescado had two sauces, green citrus herb and a red chipotle mole. The fish was meaty, white fleshed, and both sauces were great. They offered nice variety of flavors to the dish. The surf and turf was a dry rub prime fillet with buttered grilled prawns. The prime fillet was cooked to a perfect medium rare but the 2 prawns were small, dry, and mushy. Overall, the dishes were seasoned really nicely - balanced yet flavorful, but also know smacking you in the face. Execution is very high for the dishes. While there are dishes I wouldn't get again, there are others I would. Excited to try more items the next time we stop in. read more

I have enjoyed Taco Boys in the past, and being a lover of seafood I was anxious to try their new place, Marisco Boys. I think this building used to be a Coco's, and they've done a really great job of updating. There's some great lighting fixtures, a Long bar with cool lighting on the edge, and lots of plants. She had a great server who helped to guide me when I had questions about what to order. Several good choices on the cocktail menu, and with though I only looked briefly, it looked like there were quite a few wines to choose from as well. There are so many great options for seafood. I can't remember the names of the cocktails we ordered - so sorry! We also started off with guacamole and chips with our cocktails. Hubby knew right away he wanted the grilled mahi mahi, which was served with cilantro rice and sliced marinated veggies. The veggies kind of look like I'm bigger version of what you find in ceviche. I didn't try the rice or veggies, but I tried the fish and it was amazing! I should mention the portion was also huge - - twice the size that you might find in other restaurants. I was torn between a few things and asked our server to help. I ended up ordering the chicharron de pulpa, which is fried octopus. It is served with sliced tomatoes and avocado puree and a side of flour tortillas. I did like the octopus even though I'm normally not one to choose fried seafood. We were excited to try Marisco Boys, the newest concept from the geniuses behind Taco Boys. We made a reservation for a Friday night, but the restaurant wasn't busy so that was unnecessary. While the food was delicious, the restaurant missed the mark on service and ambiance. Don't get me wrong - it's a beautifully remodeled space, but the charcoal grill made the whole place smokey, the music was far too loud, and the service was lackluster. We spent over $300 on the meal and it was delicious (!) but I expect to actually interact with my waiter when paying that much for dinner. I also don't want to come home smelling like a bonfire. My main complaint is that our server was not attentive and we frequently had to flag him down to order more food and drinks and get the check. The restaurant was not busy so I'm really unsure why he was unavailable. He wasn't particularly friendly or outgoing and didn't want to answer questions we had about the menu. For example, we said: "we've never been here before, can you make a recommendation for an appetizer?" He replied: "everything's good." Okay, great, but what do you recommend?! I'd be willing to try this spot again in another 6 months if recent reviews note good service. Otherwise, there are plenty of great restaurants in the area serving mariscos at a lower price point. I hope Marisco Boys can improve, otherwise they should stick to fast casual dining like their taco spots. read more

First, I'm impressed with what they were able to do with a building that clearly used to be a chain restaurant. The decor is clean and modern, so kudos for that. Service was friendly and quick, but still relaxed enough for the casual elegant experience I think they're going for. I didn't try the drinks this evening, but the options looked good and the bar fully stocked. I would go back for the fried octopus alone--so delicious and well prepared! The whole fried tilapia was also good, but it seemed like the portion was strangely smaller than I expected. Lots of sides and the showy fried fish, but with the fillets cut off, I felt like I was missing some of the meat. The head on shrimp were also good, but I had one that was a little undercooked. Another great concept from Taco Boys. It's so nice that they chose to change things up a bit and went for a more elevated dining experience. The restaurant is really nice with modern decor and ample seating. There's a large bar area. I ordered ceviche de jaiba and it was super tasty and fresh. My husband got yellowtail tostada and the salsa negra with chiltepin was a perfect touch. My sister got ceviche mixto and if you like spicy you'll definitely enjoy this. Tip: if you get a ceviche make it a bowl for $5 extra, otherwise it will be a tostada and smaller. I feel the bowl is the way to go. Our server was friendly and warm. We were a little bummed that they didn't have any of the desserts listed in their menu, I was dying to try the elote flan. I am definitely going to be back again very soon. read more

Always been a fan of the Az Taco boys so when I found out they opened up a SeaFood place I had to check it out ! I love the open layout very nice lighting and leaving the blinds open was a nice touch. The music was annoying but I can see the vibe they are going for... I love the beer selection and the beer on draft was nice and cold. They did not offer chips and salsa. Water cup was always full and staff boys were always attentive. We ordered the Callos Preparados and 1 shrimp taco. The food came out pretty fast, the shrimp taco was very delightful and perfectly fried. The Callos preparados were very fresh and they came with a black sauce with Chiltepin which was the perfect spiciness for me but felt like the price for portion was a bit off. Overall I would be going back to try more menu items but hope the music choice is better lol but that's just me. read more

The staff let us know anything that they had run out of on the menu and gave us some substitutes before ordering. We ended up getting the swordfish skewers which were amazing. They were covered in a teriyaki sauce and was a great way to start the meal. We loved all of the food we got and then we got some complimentary dessert. Table of four and two people got their entrees delivered and we asked about 5 minutes later once we got our server's attention about the other two entrees and he said because it was the specials of the day it would take a few minutes more and said "no worries". Very rude response when all food should be delivered at the same time. The first two with their entrees did not want to be rude to start eating without everyone being service. Our appetizer of fried calamari was overcooked. The entrees were excellent but does not make up for the very poor service. I will not be back. read more
