    Asada tacos, pastor in back

BEST tacos in Walnut Creek area!! The birra tacos are AMAZING finally found my new taco spot! First time at this place and it did not disappoint! They ACTUALLY give meat in the tacos like load it up! For 4$ not bad!! If you're craving tacos I highly recommend!

    Trying the Birria ramen!

The food was really good! I wanted to try the Birria Ramen and that's exactly what I got. The prices are a bit higher than expected but I don't mind supporting local restaurants. The service was good they speak English and Spanish. Overall good ambiance they played good music and they had a lady making fresh tortillas and everything felt authentic. Will come back soon!

I really wanted to like this place but it just fell short in my book. The fried fish had little/no flavor. Just plainly fried. Didn't even taste like it was salted. And the carne asada was tough and chewy. You can see that the meat was cut along the grain so it made the texture difficult to eat through. I did however like the rice and beans and the grilled jalapeño. The one thing I absolutely hated was that my coke was flat! Absolutely flat! We had two and they both tasted terrible. I don't know how the soda could lose the carbonation if they were sealed. I don't think I'd be back any time soon.

Great ambiance, delicious food. The only thing I would improve on is the fact that they didn't bring utensils, salsa, or chips for in-dining... delicious regardless

My husband and son came here last Saturday for some tacos and they loved it. We are back again this Saturday. Grabbing some more tacos to go. My son's new favorite tacos place.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for burritos a couple of months ago. We were in the area and I searched my Yelp app for Mexican food spots and found this place. I got a shrimp burrito that was $17, and my boyfriend got an asada burrito that was $16. We took our food to go and enjoyed them at home. The burritos were good but a bit pricey. They did have a lot of seafood options on their menu that looked really good. I'll have to come back to try out other items.

    Camarones a la diabla

I absolutely loved my camarones a la Diabla ! Everything on the plate was delicious - fresh salad , beans , rice and shrimp . 10 out of 10. I even asked for more salad because it was so good . The service was great . The food is made fresh when you order . It's a very small place and it can get pretty busy so take out may be a better option . Everyone was friendly too. The shrimp was authentic and perfect .

They really do have some of the best Chicken Tacos I've ever had! I definitely need to try some of the other ones. The chorizo tacos aren't bad. Definitely not my favorite. I've definitely wanted to try the Al Pastor tacos. They look delicious!!!

Shrimp mango habanero tostada. So goood

I'm surprised there weren't more reviews for this place. This place is a hidden gem. First time I tried the birria ramen I thought where the hell has this been all my life! It's like a beef stew seasoned with tapatio and has ramen noodles. Today I tried the shrimp mango habanero tostada and it was amazing! So refreshing and I love the right amount of spice from the habanero and sweetness from the mangos. And PLENTY of shrimp. They are not stingy on that. Love this place and want to try all the menu items. Very high quality taste and ingredients!

    Sonja P.

I really liked the quality of the shrimp in my shrimp cocktail. I'd say it was my fav. I said no avocados but I guess the cashier thought otherwise. The music was quite loud. I also ordered carne asada tacos, which were dry and flavorless. I don't recommend. I had the 4 quesobirria with consome. They were very lack of luster. But I was probably full from the other tacos. I had to ask for the consome, and the woman who serves food and cooks just kind of gave a bad attitude about it. They also only give a few thin napkins for each person at the table. The toilet in the bathroom did not have a cover. I really wanted to like this place. I'd say If I were going for seafood items I would come here. That in itself is a plus.

Solid service every time. Had to make this place part of my rotation of spots to hit for taco cravings and especially for their Diabla Fries.

The zucchini was cooked perfectly and not overcooked or soggy at all, which made the whole burrito taste fresh and flavorful. We also got the appetizer with the chips, zucchini, arugula, and cheese and that ended up being one of my favorite dishes. Everything paired together really well and had a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy. I also tried the mango margarita with tajín on the rim and really liked it because it wasn't overly sweet. Super refreshing and balanced. The Dude ordered the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and really enjoyed those as well. Customer service was also really good. I noticed how enthused and attentive they were to other patrons in comparison to how they were with me and my daughter. I'll leave it at that. I purchased a chicken burrito, a steak burrito (burritos came with potato chips), a mango margarita, and a cheesecake. Pros- the food is fresh and made with quality ingredients. The mango margarita.... Best thing I ordered! Cons- Burritos lacked flavor and was pretty unremarkable. The cheesecake. Idk if it was spoiled or a different type of cheesecake but it didn't taste good at all. My daughter ate it bc she's greedy lol and said that it tastes "interesting". I do feel like the food we ordered is not prepared the way I'm familiar with, so I'll own that. BUT flavor is flavor and this place did not do it for me at all.

We did find one that had excellent street tacos but they were very pricey, three tacos for $16.99 with no chips. I would need to get two orders so 6 street tacos with tax and tip would be well over $40 which is No Bueno. We weren't sure what to expect from La Tapatia but I liked that the menu had crunchy tacos. I ordered a pork tamale, a crunchy ground beef taco and some arroz. My friend ordered a chile relleno and a crunchy ground beef taco. The food came with complimentary tortilla chips and a salsa dip with frijoles. The dip and Chios were fresh and the salsa with blended with frijoles was enjoyable. The crunchy tacos were fried nicely and had a good amount of filling. I thinking about trying carnitas as the filling but there a bit of a charge. The tamale was pretty good. The masa was not too dry or too wet. The meat to masa ratio was about right. My friend liked his chile relleno. The rice was more well done than I usually prefer and needed a little more seasoning. Overall, the food was delicious, service very attentive and pricing was a bit higher than other restaurants but still fair. I plan to take the family next trip and try other dishes. I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos.
