Took a gamble on this place and it DEFINITELY worked out! The food at this place is awesome. The pupusas and revueltas took me straight back to childhood. Gave me chicken instead of steak. I show the lady the meat, she tells me it is steak! I ask the guy who made it and he tells me it is chicken. He made me another order. When I tell the lady the cook confirmed it wasn't steak she blows me off. She also charged me more than the posted price and when I told her I was eating in added her own tip in my bill as the receipt I got was charged even more money!. Turns out she is the owner!! Holy cow! Off on an adventure and popped into this nondescript, run down strip mall for a bite at this Salvadoran/Mexican restaurant. Pretty low key, small, and a small raised stage at the end, it was pretty empty for our late lunch, but I'm guessing it's jumping on the weekends... I am normally not the type to be able to even watch someone eat an entire fried fish with eyeballs, but the whole fried tilapia was one of the best things I've ever tasted. And when we smiled and gave the chef two thumbs up, she came over twice with plates of fresh made smashed plantains for us to enjoy as well. We've already recommended it to several people, and are ready to go back. You can navigate it well without speaking Spanish, but it could help:) Everyone was friendly, and we are ready to go back. Mmmmmm pupusas just like my grammy use to make :) just the perfect amount of cheesy goodness and the masa was a lil crispy too! Free horchata refills and all sorts of authentic goodies like empanadas de platano & yucca frita. Not the greatest looking place (considering the area) but the waitresses are very sweet, service can be a bit slow but ends up being worth it at the end. Here's a tip though.. I prefer going during the weekday if I'm eating there because the last time I went on a weekend (and actually was the last..) it was filled with drunk, immature, stinky young/old men and service was even slower due to the serving of alcohol to these locals. This restaurant is one of my favorites in the valley, I have been visiting this friendly place for years... and let me tell you, I always come back. There is always something new! this place is getting better and better. The food is excellent and of very quality at a lower price. The waitresses are always smiling and looking for the way you spend a good time. On the weekends they have karaoke at night so this place is busier than usual. The owner is always there greeting the customers making sure everything should go the right way. From my point of view this restaurant is as good as many good restaurants around. read more

Wonderful food! But more importantly, wonderful customer service. Ordered through doordash (little late night snack) and no dasher accepted the order. I called the resturant, 5 minutes before closing assuming they would just cancel my order. Instead they said we will drop it off ourselves! Not only did they deliver within 15 minutes, the included a couple sodas as an apology. GREAT experience with them will definitely be ordering again!!! read more

This was my first time there and will definitely be my last. My husband and I came in to place an order to go. It took 40 minutes to get the order. There were only 3 other customers! One of the waitresses who may have been an owner, was selling Avon to customers and advertising deodorant. There was a man in a jersey and jean shorts who came out of the kitchen looking like he works as an auto mechanic, he was so dirty. I asked for two waters while we waited for my kids and it took the waitress 10 minutes to bring me water. And.... she only brought 1. The facility is dirty. They have a yellow mop barrel and mop Standing in the kitchen right in the view of the customers. I took my son to the restroom and it was nasty. I thought I was walking through a place in a third world country. there was an opening to the kitchen. The counters were cluttered with food and non food items. It looked very dirty. I don't know how they manage to get a grade A. This place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months or years. There were cases of beer under end tables. We paid $70 for a couple tacos, shrimp fajitas, a plate of grilled mixed seafood, taquitos and one taco with ceviche. When we got home and opened the containers, it was mainly rice with a little bit of shrimp. I say, if i knew I was going to wait that long and not get that much, I would have gone to Salsa and Beer. read more

First time I went, I ordered 2 tostadas De ceviche. They were super good! The next time I went, the ceviche smelled old, and expired. I couldn't even eat it and had to throw it away since I had ordered to go. And the avocado that they gave me had a lot of black spots. I will not be going there again for fear of getting food poisoning. And vtw, both times I went in, there were no customers. I don't think they have much business, so that's probably why they try to get rid of their old food by giving it to customers instead of throwing away old food, and making it fresh. read more

I have eaten here several times and the food has always been very good. I was craving shrimp ceviche so i decided to give them a call and place an order to go. I was told I could pick it up in 20 mins. I told them I would pick them up closer to a half hour to an hour because i had to run an errand before i came there. I ended up picking up my food an hour later because i got held up. I was very surprised when I showed up, they couldn't find the waiter who was going to give me my food. When she finally came over to the counter, she couldn't find my food because she was looking in the fridge where my food should've been, since it is seafood we are talking about, but instead my food was sitting right on the counter. I asked her if I could get some chips since i knew I would probably not be able to eat the shrimp cause i didn't know how long my food had been sitting out, and she told me they were all out! I have eaten there many times and my experience had always been a very pleasant one, but after that night, I don't know if I will be going back. read more
