The food is amazing! I went the first time and ordered the seafood soup and it was great, but the shrimp in the soup were rubbery and inedible- but the overall flavor of the soup and all of the other seafood in it made up for the shrimp! The second time we went I ordered the same thing and the shrimp were perfect! My complaint is that the service is sooooo slow!!!! The first time we went it was a table of 4 and it took TWO hours at lunch on a Friday. This time was lunch on a Saturday for a table of 4 and it took 1 1/2 hours. Which would have been totally fine if we got drink refills but the server was MIA most of the time we were sitting there.... both times. read more

Awful. Shrimp was so tough you couldn't cut it with a fork. Fried fish was not good either. I wanted to send it back but we just left.

I had the opportunity to go to this establishment last evening on 8-5-23, While growing up in Tyler I was kinda apprehensive about the location but once we entered I quickly realized it was far better than I thought. The atmosphere was great! The service was just as good. We had a party of 10 with 3 kids under 6. we were seated within 3 minutes of arriving. The service started out kinda slow it seems as there was a little confusion over who was responsible for the table. once that was cleared up no issues whatsoever. The food quality was amazing! The portion sizes were more than ample. The dishes were authentic and the Margaritas were awesome. If you haven't been, take the opportunity to go. WOW!!! Discovered by happen chance, this is a little diamond in the rough in the heart of Tyler! I was just passing and noticed ' Taco Thursday ' specials along w frozen lime or mango margaritas! Choice of beef, chicken, fish, shrimp or shrimp and octopus tacos. I tried the shrimp and octopus taco on flour. Possibly the best taco I've ever eaten! Succulent shrimp and octopus cooked to perfection w just enough heat proportioned with just the right amount of shredded cabbage and a slice of lime on the side! To drink, I had the frozen mango margarita! A grande mix of mango heaven for a hot summer day! It was rimmed with chilie, sugar and salt .... perfection in a glass! I will be back and back and back!!!! My waiter was friendly and helpful! Wonderful colorful way to have a fantastic lunch! read more

Delicioso! Omg Yum! This place is just as good, if not better, than their partner restaurants. The salsa is spicy and wonderful, signature Don Juan queso served with toasty bread. Try this place on 11 28 18 and wait until after the lunch rush it was nice and cozy and I had corner of the best waitress is/hostess/bartender I think I have ever head she was so very prompt and efficient and now to the food I had the combination of beef chicken shrimp and sausage fajitas because I wasn't sure which one I would like best they were all wonderful I will definitely be back this is definitely a Hidden gem If you get a chance to try it I would definitely recommend it read more

Don Juan's on the Square has always been my favorite Mexican food in Tyler. Marisco's DJ's has the same owners and WOW, the food is equally as good, if not better than Don Juan's. We loved everything we had! The queso was amazing, the salsas both delicious and the fajitas were outstanding! There was a mariachi band, which made for a very fun atmosphere. This is really a 4.5 star rating. I really love this place. Their tacos are all good but immediately fall apart. If you get tacos; order them villa style (the tortilla is flash fried)and they will not fall apart. It makes a huge difference! I have tried many things on their menu and anything that includes octopus is really great. Their octopus is tender and chewy and not fishy tasting at all as it is some places. Some of my favorites are the seafood cocktail with shrimp and octopus, mariscos tacos, their foil seafood dinner, their molcajetes. Their seafood soup is impressive and tasty but a little too spicy for me; so be forewarned; but it will warm you up the rest of the day and clear your sinuses! Their ceviche is good but a little too heavy handed with the lime. There is plenty of parking in the back and a rear entrance so don't fret if there is no where out front to park. read more

Tried this place out this past weekend, food and service was better than good so that would make it gooder ;) loved that you could choose from either menu Mexican or seafood.. so of course, had the boyfriend order from the mexi side (Don Juan's menu too btw ) and I ordered from the sea side and yasss , I then had an array to munch on .. overall the pretty girls provided fast and friendly service.. only thing the margaritas were way to sweet nothing like Don Juan's but overall I will definitely come back ! read more

Which I understood after 45 minutes. But it was a long wait. Also,since my food came with tortillas and they brought me 1 tortilla. I asked for more and it never came. I will start by saying our waiter was very nice. We went for mariachi night. The music was great and the decorations are adorable. The atmosphere is fun. HOWEVER. That is where it ends. The food is disgusting. We were a table of 6 and ordered multiple dishes with shrimp and they were so over cooked and rubbery that you could not them. I ordered the red snapper and i could tell it had been frozen for a long time, like for what tasted like 10 months and then deep fried and it had no flavor and was strong and I couldn't eat it. I normally love snapper. My son came home and threw up. The "sausage" was a hotdog. The butter sauce on the one dish was sour and had gone bad. I can't even exaggerate. We were literally sick after eating there. Also the one drink was so watery, it was embarrassing and the other drinks besides the michelada were just so bad. No flavor and cheap watery mixes. The shrimp cocktail was ok. The wings Were ok too but nothing special and the beans were from a can. The rice had no salt and the hostess was annoyed when they didn't give us enough menus and we asked for more and and no silverware . read more

Omg. This place. I wish I lived closer. We are from Dallas passing through and there's nothing like this place at home. The atmosphere and culture is everything. Everyone is so happy having a good time. Yes they're super busy. And it takes maybe 10 min to sit down. But they will do their best to accommodate you. The food here is fantastic. So yummy. My wife and i went there last night, 6:00pm on a Wednesday. Very nice mexican decor. Clean, spacious and cool. Service was prompt and very friendly. We had shrimp cervichie tostados to start. The shrimp was fresh and tasty. We followed with shrimp empanadas and a seafood roast. The guacamole was excellent and the beer was ice cold. A great first visit. read more
