Wow what a find!!.. you can taste the freshness of the seafood. We had our doubts but I'm glad we came. The grilled fish with rice is amazing. The ceviche don Charley appetizer was bomb!!!... and man the beers are cold!!!!... this place is a gem

    Mixed Ceviche (Fish and shrimp)

This is a hidden gem!!! The outside is very unassuming and can be easily missed or confused with being part of the car shop next door, but once you're inside it gets way better. You probably won't be trilled by the decor much but the service and the quality/freshness of the food has always been on point on at least 5-6 times that I went to. Great portion size and the flavor is just outstanding! The only thing I can think of is price. There are similar seafood places in San Antonio that are priced better. This might possibly explain why it's been somewhat empty every time I am there. My recommendation is the ceviche mixto which is pictured, but there is plenty on the menu to choose from!

Avoid this place over 40min wait for food in empty restaurant ceviche micro was 25.00 when menu shows 16 the waitress claims there's a notice that says prices could change. Place is a money trap. Hilarious.

    Fish and shrimp platter

Service was excellent, food was really good. Will definitely come again next time we are I. San Antonio

    Mariscos de mar

Appetizers tostadas and fish broth, mariscos de mar medium and shrimp quesadillas, it was all delicious. I asked the gentlemen at the next table if I could take a picture of their food. The outside might discourage from stopping but inside is clean and good service. Prices on menu are not correct the marisco Del Mar was $3 more than listed.

    While fried fish

Wife had the fried mojarra. We prefer without the flour to get the skin crispy. I got the fried fish and shrimp, both were tasty. Service was great and food was fresh. Note, the menus need to be replaced or heavily sanitized. Check your tickets, the price charged for mojarra was $2 more than menu. I understand if menu says "market price ", but that wasn't the case.

    Shrimp Cocktail

Sofia was our server and she was lovely! The service was fast and the food was fresh. I had a shrimp cocktail and my friend had a tostada. They also had live music that day. Will definitely go back!

Been here a couple of time and it's been outstanding. Don't be fooled by the exterior the food inside is outstanding! Their Mariscos soup is excellent, I haven't tried their ceviches but they look amazing.

Ma Parker prides herself on family, giving people second chances and a decent meal for a reasonable price. Everyone who came in for lunch paid Ma Harper respect and was treated like family. The decor is die-hard NOLA with tons of memorabilia. The booths and chairs are old but the food is made with pride and love. The fried shrimp po-boy, fully dressed on a perfect NOLA roll was a must try. A small side of red beans and rice was also included. The sandwich was packed with crispy fried shrimp, but the normal remoulade sauce was replaced with ketchup / mayo mixture, not savory. The red beans and rice were fine but lacked real flavor. I am glad I gave Ma Harper's Creole Kitchen a chance. Many of the frequent flyers here, obviously love this neighborhood staple. Ma Harper's has a big heart and I wish her continued success. Dining here is more than food, it can also be about love and feeding people. Thanks Ma Harper for a memorable experience.
