Stopped in here Thursdays for late lunch. Had a taste for some fried fish and they were close by. The service was really good. We were immediately greeted with friendly smiles. It appeared to be a local mom and pop type of spot and definitely had that home town feel to it. The food was good. My suggestion would be to season the fish itself and put more seasoning in the badder or breading that they use before frying, to give the fish more flavor. But for the money, it was good. I don't know how the breakfast food or the other food is but as far as the catfish and shrimp I had. All I can say is disgusting. My fish didn't have flavor and my shrimp tasted dirty, I took the breading off to see that she shrimp had not been cleaned and Devine. That is two of the 3 shrimp that I had. I have been eating here since I was a little girl. I love all the people that make things happen there. They work hard for me to have to read reviews about bad customer service. I highly doubt that. What I can see is them mirroring the way they're treated. You treat someone with disrespect and they will do the same to you. Now about the food. I love their Old Mariner. It's the best fish sandwich and fries I've ever had. Their cheese enchiladas are real good too. Had lunch at Little Fish Factory today with my husband and (adult) son. I had bean and cheese tacos which were wonderful. My husband had fajita taco plate with rice and beans and he says " it was great!" Our son had the No 2 Seafood platter which he said was "Great!" The green sauce is the best I've had! The owners are also the operators and are outstanding in every way. We've lived in Texas for 50+ years. This is authentic Tex-Mex and it tastes great, just as it should. read more

Sit down to a wonderful fried fish plate and you'll forget all about the torn seat cushions and lack of polish on the floors. This place has some of the best and largest fish fillets in town, very tasty batter and a fantastic tartar sauce. For a real treat, make it a fish and oyster platter. Get extra tartar sauce and fresh lemon. I love the traditional sides here - boiled fresh spinach and cole slaw - for some reason, just the perfect compliment. The fillet here is most like the one served at Sea Island, usually big and square. No clue as to type of fish. The oysters are heavily battered but well-fried, no breaded taste. It's been decades since I've had the shrimp, so I can't speak for it. The fish & fries and sandwiches are excellent also. I used to frequent the original location on McCullough near SAC and they closed and I didn't find this one until 1990 or so. Be aware that they close very early everyday, I think at 7pm. If you know me, you know I love my bean and cheese tacos. Back in the day this place used to have a better cheese. A cheese that reminded me of my childhood. I don't wanna say government cheese but that's what it tasted like. AND I LOVED IT. It was so much meltier! They don't have this cheese any more. The beans though, tasted amazing and definitely were cooked with bacon. Fully flavorful. For as far out this place is from my house, I don't think it's worth it coming here again. They had lean barbacoa which I enjoyed with a big red. It wasnt the best barbacoa I've had though. Sorry guys I give you 3 stars. Get that other cheese back. It isn't the cleanest establishment. All the booths were super dirty. I was scared to get a high chair for my son. Everyone is super friendly though, I'm just a germophobe now because I'm a mom. I went there yesterday about noon for an order that I had called in. There were 2 cashiers and about 2 servers behind the counter. The person who entered just before me, put in his order. Then the server walked away to a table of customers and started chatting with them. Meanwhile, my order sat there on the counter while the cashiers behind the counter took orders from other people in line. The customer who had entered just before me and had given his order to the server after entering, received his order. Then finally, after the customer who had given his order in person received his order was when one of the cashiers thought to ask if I had called in an order. I said "yes." She then gave me my order that had been sitting on the counter now at least 10 minutes- while I was standing there waiting to pick up my order of food. I returned home with the food that I had ordered. The fish was soaked because the spinach that was placed in a separate cup, had leaked on it. The food was good but would have been better without spinach juice leaking on it. The customer service was very poor. read more

I had big expectations for this place ... actually, I only expected something simple from a place called The Little Fish Factory and that was to get some outstanding fish. Didn't happen. I went in last Friday around 6p with a friend. The cashier was mad rude - she told my friend to wait by putting her finger up in front of my friend's face. I wanted to leave then. We both ordered the New Orleans catfish (#54), they were out of catfish. I wanted to leave then. So we asked what other types of fish they served - her response "Fish sandwich or fish & shrimp", that's not a type of fish - it ended up being pollack. I wanted to leave then. We ordered the fish & shrimp, which came with fries, coleslaw and ... *spinach* (I love spinach, but not with fish, fries and coleslaw). I asked them to hold the spinach and coleslaw (my plate had both on it). I wanted to leave then. The young lady who brought our food out was nice & cordial (that's a positive). What I received looked & tasted like something straight from a high school cafeteria ... a giant fish stick/patty and Van de Camp's shrimp .... definitely not worth the $10+ I paid. Maybe I should've ordered enchiladas or something from the *fish factory* as opposed to fish. Who would've thought?! SMH read more

One of the most decent Mexican food restaurants in San Antonio. They have daily specials and everything comes with a tea or other wise specified.
