    Happy hour menu
    Joseph E.

Off from work early on a Friday afternoon, I decide to meet some friends at Roam & Range for a happy hour drink. R&R is part of a hotel and since the weather was really nice, we decide to sit on the outdoor patio facing the river walk. They have a happy hour menu that runs from 3-6 pm and includes beer, wine and liquor specials and 8 small plate food options. I start off with a margarita on the rocks. When it comes out, the drink is good but could've used a bit more lime in the mix but not bad. For food, I go with the fried shrimp and catfish nuggets. When they come out, the plates are larger than expected and both come with fries. This could easily be shared with two or three people. Everything was friend to perfection, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and seasoned well. The plates were wiped clean. I ordered a house pinot noir and it was a good. I didn't catch the brand name but would order it again. Overall, this was a great first experience at Roam & Range and will look forward to coming back to try more of the menu. Due to it's location, parking can be tricky so prep ahead.

The bread with the oil mixture comes as a free appetizer and was delicious.

This was the place a friend chose for her birthday lunch and it did not disappoint. It seems to have the same menu as Bourbon Street and is in one of their former locations. I had the blackened catfish with shrimp and dirty rice and everything was really good. Our waiter was very attentive and the restaurant was not crowded at all on the weekday that we went. The portions are very generous so we both took home lots of food. The facility has been completely redone from its Bourbon Street Days and looks fabulous with a very laid-back atmosphere.

Service: friendly hostess, we went during the week for lunch. It wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait to be seated. Food: Delicious. I ended up getting the tenderloin with mash potatoes and my husband got the Greek Salad. The meat for mine was so tender and flavorful. Nice portion of food. The size cup of soup: Clam chowder was hearty and thick. Ambiance: Beautiful view of the riverwalk. The inside is nice and open.

Inside the Sol Cypress Hotel, this seems like a solid option for dinner and happy hour. I stopped in for happy hour, which is one of the better options for the area. The drinks are relatively cheap and the HH food menu is all $10 and the portions are large. I had the artichoke dip and the catfish with fries. All tasted good. I sat at the bar and the bartender was fast, friendly and accurate with the orders. The restaurant, along with the rest of the lobby area seems to be recently remodeled. This property used to be a Wyndham and the restaurant previously house Bourbon Street Seafood.

My husband and I went here for a dinner date and it was pretty empty but the vibe was giving smooth rancher. We thought it was cute and the horse decor matched the menu. We got the oysters they were so sweet and tasty! Best oysters I've had in San Antonio. I ordered the quail and he got the duck breast. We enjoyed our dinner and our waitress was perfect!

Chanel was wonderful and the Roam & Range Shrimp was flavorful. We were a large party and had the sun room to ourselves on a Saturday night.

From start to finish everything was amazing. To start off I had their brown sugar old fashioned that was definitely different, strong with a hint of sweetness. For dinner I had the chicken piccata which is a classic in my opinion and I hardly come across in newer restaurants. Very well done and flavorful. Service was excellent across the board, I found no discrepancies there. Last the ambiance has a bit of a John Wick vibe with the stone, wood aesthetics and last the fireplace to relax with your drink was just perfect. Definitely a great spot for a date or to just relax.

There are places you find by chance and wonder how the whole world hasn't already claimed them. Roam and Rang in San Antonio, tucked just along the river walk, is one of those places, where the food's good enough to hush a table full of talkers and the view's so fine it could slow a busy heart. I sat on their patio for what must have been hours, a skinny margarita sweating easy in my hand, watching the river drift by like an old song. The herb-crusted trout came out, tender and seasoned like somebody's grandmother had a hand in it, not just a kitchen. The sides, bright green beans and crisp broccoli, weren't an afterthought either; they had that snap and life that told you somebody back there cared about more than just the main dish. The staff? The kind of folks who don't just bring your food but bring you a little bit of home with it, friendly in the way that feels real, not rehearsed. I didn't rush a single thing. We talked, we laughed, we watched the sun stretch across the water, and for a while, life felt good enough to forget the rush waiting somewhere outside the patio walls. Roam and Rang isn't just a restaurant. It's a reminder, that good food, good company, and a view worth remembering can heal more than just a hunger.

Super fast service as well as food. At here twice during my stay at the Sol Cypress. First meal- wedge salad amd bowl of gumbo. More than enough food for 1 person. Salad was great. Heavy on the blue cheese, but some people like that. Gumbo was packed with seafood. Really tastey. Would loved some heat in it though. Second meal- 6 oysters on the half shell and grilled chicken chop salad. Plenty of food. Salad was massive. Could have eaten that by itself. Oysters we great. Wish the horseradish was spicey.

    What's the Parking situation?

Free valet parking. Just let the guys know when you pull up that you are going to the restaurant. The restaurant will validate it for you. Super simple!! Hope this helps.

I will say the GPS got a little confused in the route for some reason and I nearly missed an exit and even the entrance (there was some construction going on) There is plenty of parking, but the parking lot was pretty full. You walk up and either walk through the courtyard style Biergarten with tables or you can go inside. It was an unseasonably nice day, so, we opted to sit outside There is a QR code to view the menus. There are entrees and plenty of apps/sharables. There is also a very extensive beer menu. Make no mistake, this is their bread and butter. They boast an imprecise "99 beers on tap." There's local brews, light and dark beers, hoppy, Belgium style, German style, wheat, etc etc etc. if that's not your speed there are cocktails and non-alcoholic options. Our server was fantastic. She was very kind and patient with us. We were constantly checked in on, but not in a hovering way or a pressure to leave. Our food and drinks always came out in a timely manner. She made us feel well taken care of The drinks hit the spot, and the food was tasty. It was definitely a chill vibe/hang. We were there for hours just catching up, and we saw other happy hours, birthday parties, dates, bachelorette parties, etc Some tips: I did order a couple beers that they were temporarily out of, but there are so many beers to pivot to. Also, our server was incredibly helpful in offering other suggestions, similar suggestions, and asking the right questions to help land in the next alternative They are not open Mondays, and they're only open until 11pm Tuesday-Thursday (and Sunday). Friday and Saturday they're open til 1am. Also, on Saturdays and Sunday's they offer brunch from 11am-3pm) The Reuben was surprisingly delicious Cheers!!

It's been a while since have done brunch and o won't be in a hurry to return to brunch specifically The service was superb, we had a great server and he was absolutely on top of everything which was great! Beers were also great as was the mimosa I had and the kids we were with seemed to like their meals which came out last and they said theirs were hot - ours were not unfortunately. I had the Lox eggs Benedict and in retrospect should have sent it back as it was stone cold! My husband and our friend got the biscuits and gravy and also reported that they were cold - it was also served in a bowl which was a bad idea as the biscuits completely soaked up the gravy and resembled oatmeal by the time it hit the table! We got one meal - waffles and chicken to go and the waffles were inedible- poorly mixed, gritty and so much hot sauce in the mixture that they burned the back of the throat - they had to be trashed ! I love this place but won't return in a hurry for brunch - granted multiple dishes with eggs are hard to time right so we ended up with cold food that did however taste good

I hate those systems. The young woman behind the bar was friendly and paid attention to what we said - a pleasant experience. The order was placed at the bar and not at the table. We placed the order and it promptly arrived. The prices were certainly reasonable. The service to the table was great. The interior is rather sterile - but has various accoutrements to some what offset that - certainly not like a pub warm feeling. The beer I order was maybe a C+. It seemed a bit flat, but had a good taste. The hamburger, Grand Tour Hamburger, at $16.50 was really enjoyable. I requested it not be "smashed" ( I don't like smash burgers) and to be cooked rare - but it came out medium well. Nevertheless the flavors of the meat and toppings were quite satisfying. All their beers are solid and it was hard to find which full pours I was going to have. Their Marzen was definitely the winner both times.
