I forgot her name, the young lady provided amazing service and was able to help guide us of places to visit. The ambience was inviting and quiet....as I'm sure we may have been the first customers of the day. Sorry o don't have a picture, but the hot honey pepperoni pizza was satisfying.

Though this is not so much a traditional restaurant they were happy to serve and wait on us. The set up is on par with any pizzeria in NY. They step it up with a small bar in the back! Though I didn't sit at the bar I'd definitely be tempted to go again and check it out. The garlic bread and marinara sauce was a pleasant appetizer that set the tone for the meal. It set my hopes up for a delightful dinner and it did not disappoint. The pizza was such a surprise. I was so excited to find a pizza that I could compare to true NY pizza! During the course of our meal, we found out Sami is from New Jersey and so understands exactly what a pizza should taste like. The delicious dinner made me decide to delight myself in a cannoli. I was remiss to share with my son. The filling was divine. The perfect mix of sugar and ricotta, sweet without being overly so to still enjoy the flavor of the ricotta. The North may have won the war but Sami may have just helped them even the score on the battle for best pizza. How do you spell pizza in North Carolina? S A M I' S An underrated little gem

Within moments a delightful sound lady appeared with a piping hot plate of chicken and NC style BBQ cooked to perfection. She later returned with fresh hushpuppies, OMG everything was delicious! While the decor was basic, it was an amazing experience overall. This location is a gas station parking lot immediately off the hiway. Great location with plenty of parking

We had lunch at this White Swan to start an early kickoff to the weekend. The restaurant was mostly full when we arrived, which we hoped meant the food was much better than the dingy interior. I tried a BBQ sandwich with slaw and an order of yams. My sandwich had a generous serving of eastern NC BBQ with slaw. The BBQ was OK, but nothing special and I would not be surprised to learn the slaw was purchased somewhere else. My yams, however, were served warm and very good. I also received a few hushpuppies which would have been excellent if they had been served hot, but they were cold. My dining companion tried the "steak sandwich" and fried squash. The "steak" turned out to be a fried chuckwagon patty which would have been better if served right out of the fryer but was OK. She thought the squash, clearly fresh and just cooked, was very good. You stand in line to place your order and as expected these days, they suggest all sorts of generous tips for themselves. All the employees were friendly and clearly aiming to please. If you eat in they bring your food to the table and if you get it to go, they call your order out when its ready. You're expected to clean your table when you leave and they are kind enough to leave a bucket with rags soaked in sanitizer to clean make sure the table is ready for the next customer, even though they already hit you up for a tip when you ordered. This is a low 3-star BBQ restaurant. It's not bad, but there's better to be had not too far away.

Having changed the name at least twice (Big John's Hot and Spicy, & Big Johns Wings and Things),…read morethis food truck's owners have now settled on Wingski's. I'm not sure how that name came about, but with this name, I presume they'd do decent wings. An accurate presumption in this instance. There's a variety on the menu from this food truck, a sandwich, a wrap, buffalo shrimp, chicken and waffles, and - an unusual (for a food truck) but regional specialty - a fried bologna sandwich. With all of that, though, it's the wings that drew us in. With about a dozen different sauces, and with wings available in regular and boneless, our first sauce choice was not available (boo!) but the classic buffalo sauce was, and that's what we tried. It was listed a "medium" heat, but maybe I'm used to really hot, because I found it more of a low heat. The person I was with thought it was perfect. On the plus side, there's nothing like wings hot from the cooker. It was worth the short wait. Because the wings were smaller than average, the Wingski's crew threw in a couple extra wings and for the price, it was a nice surprise. The people handling the orders were most apologetic for not having our initial sauce choice, and handled it with a sense of humor. I think we'll be trying to find them again because there were quite a few options and we have more sampling to do.

The wings were good, however, I always compare wings to Heavenly Buffaloe's, which is a pretty high bar. Wingski's had a nice selection of sauces, but I would have liked more flavor and more spice. The fries were really good and I could tell they made them fresh, but I didn't need to pay extra for the parmesan cheese. Overall, it was a good meal but I will probably stick to my Heavenly Buffaloe's delivery in the future unless I am really hungry (unlike other reviewers, we got our food in about 5 minutes but there was no line).

The parking situation is interesting, there are a few spots behind/besides the building, curb parking in front, and then a dirt area that it doesn't look like you can park in, but people do. The food is consistently good. I've had their salads, sandwiches, pizza and a few dinner specials. They also usually have several seasonal cocktails. Inside, you seat yourself and someone greets you quickly. Outside, I think they want you to make contact with a server first, and then sit down. Everyone I've encountered here has been very nice and service is quick. I make a point to stop in when in the area.
