    Shrimp empanadas
    Manuel N Francileine C.

Saw ads on IG and decided we needed to try. The only other place we've had a molcajete is down south so obviously had to try here since it's closer. Another review mentioned a bad smell when walking in. I'd have to agree but once we got seated we didn't even notice. You have to remember it is an older establishment that's been renovated. The smell was more like old plumbing mixed in with cleaning solution ‍ Micheladas were delicious! I don't like beer but I'd order these micheladas any day. They literally just got their liquor license the day we went so didn't have a bartender or a fully stocked bar yet. Shrimp empanadas were also on point. The shell was made of masa (which I'm not used to) and had shrimp in every bite. Most places we've been too was mostly cheese with maybe 1-2 shrimps in the whole thing. Sauce they served was on the spicy side (for me at least) but complimented the empanadas well Oyster shots were also good. The waitress had told us that the oysters were cooked but not the case. I was a little wary at first but the sauce they were in was good and the oysters tasted as fresh as some shooters we've had along the coast The molcajete was just as good as the one we've had down south. The beef was a little dry if eaten on its own but not bad when wrapped in a tortilla n dipped in the sauce. Chicken was juicy and tender and the shrimps were of decent size and had a sweet taste to them. Our waitress was sweet and attentive and patient as we asked her questions. In fact, all the staff was helpful. When we got there there weren't many people but as it got busy I did notice the wait staff spread a little thin so I can see how some say service wasn't good. Either way we had a good experience and just found a new place to add to our regular list of restaurants

Service is nice. Waitresses very hospitable. Ambiance , tv and games on. Music in the bar adjacent to restaurant. Nice view with windows.Puro Mexicano Aqui! Food is superb. Had fish tacos another time delicious. Price is very reasonable. Salsa and chips!

    The bar area

This was our first time here because we had a craving for seafood . The ambience was very comfortable , well lit and spacious. The place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was very attentive and everything we ordered was delicious my only complaint would be that shrimp in our our seafood bag was slightly overcooked but still delicious none the less. We will definitely be coming back again with friends

    Camarones empanizado : Breaded shrimp

Went on valentine's day around 5, besides it being busy waiters were very attentive and food didn't take long to come out considering it being such a busy day. Food had good portions sizes & very delicious & very nicely plated. The place was also decorated very on theme for the occasion; valentine's day. I loved it will definitely come back !

I really like the meat they use for their tacos, they taste more premium and fresh than other places. I'm wimpy when it comes to spicy food so I always order no sauce on mine lol. Lately I've been ordering the loaded nachos with no beans! Super filling, it's really good if you you're looking for something snacky yet filling at the same time. Sign up for their loyalty program to earn points, get discounts, and get notifications on any deals they are having! I don't go inside often but when I do it's clean looking and feels spacious! I would give 5 stars but ordering "no beans" seems to always throw the entire staff for a loop. 50% of the time they mess up my order and I have to give it back and wait for them to remake it. Other than that everything is great! If they can get my order right more often I'd be more than happy to give them 5 stars!

I had a delivery driver who also happened to pick up my orders from here. We got to talking about other spots in town and I mentioned this place and he says, "ohhh you're THAT Frank". Automatically I'm like "uh oh" lol. Now before you start wondering "two sides to every story"; here's mine. I order a burrito combo with a large limonada. I ask for my burrito with just meat and rice, sometimes onions. I ask for it to be grilled. I asked for (2) to (3) serrano peppers on the side. Before they "disappeared" off of GrubHub, they had a button on their page for sauces. They don't charge for them on the app and don't have a quantity cap, so i usually ask for around (4) to (5) green and the same in habanero. The burritos are big and I'm a salsa kind of guy lol. If 10 sauces overall is too much, then that's fine. At least give me something lol. I've been given (0) or (1) at times. My burrito is 50/50 sometimes grilled, sometimes not "mostly not", they will forget my drinks from time to time. When i ask the driver, they say they weren't given a drink. My food has come cold, the meat has been chewy and fatty. I've had to get refunds on orders because of the quality. So I always ask the drivers to make sure my drinks are there and my sauces are in the bag. But here I've been, coming back cause i was genuinely a happy customer more times than not. Then to randomly hear from a delivery driver who's picked up your orders from here before, you've been talked "sh$t' about. So much that he even contemplated telling me "DONT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE". This is a place you've given business to on a regular basis! It's disheartening and it hurts. My last review was even a good one lol. Needless to say I'm not coming back. Pretty messed up too, cause i was happy to see them come to town since i first encountered them in Bakersfield. Oh well.. talk all the crap you want now, hope you read this. I know one customer ain't no love lost. But now everyone will know how they're being treated behind their backs. Better places in town to find.

For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.

We were sat down with menus, given chips, salsa, and water, and told to place our menus at the edge of the table when ready. The server came by several times while we were still deciding, and when we finally told her we planned to split a burrito, she gave us an odd look and commented that it "might be a reasonable size to share." Shortly after, she returned to inform us that we had been given the wrong menus and that every item was actually $2.99 more than what we had been reviewing--something completely unprofessional and misleading. To make matters worse, when I asked about happy hour, she flat-out said they didn't have one, yet I later found multiple reviews online mentioning happy hour specials. That means she either didn't know or wasn't being honest. Between the dismissive service, the sudden price change, and the lack of transparency, we decided to walk out. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant.

But in the past several…read moreyears, it's completely gone downhill both in customer service, quality of the food, & its pricing. The portions have gotten noticeably smaller, however the prices continue to rise. What you are served is definitely not worth what Azul's charges you. This place used to be a regular go-to spot for myself when I am in Visalia, which is quite often. My sister & her husband were weekly regulars there & were (allegedly) friends with the owner. The last several times I've been there for a meal with my sister & BIL the owner has come over to say hello, but she has not seemed genuine or at all happy to see my sister & BIL. Instead, her "hellos" & the quick small talk that is expected of an owner greeting their regulars seemed incredibly forced & just completely inorganic. It was like she did not want us there, found it annoying that we were there, & did not appreciate our business at all. That made me feel very uncomfortable. The last time my family was there, it was my sister, mother, & their friend (a Visalia local) that were dining in. My mother picked up the check & paid by debit card & rounded up the just under $70 bill to $90 for the tip. When she looked at her bank statement a few days later, she discovered that the server had charged $100. My mom called my sister, who told her to call the owner & let her know what happened to make it right. They were trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but at the same time knew the chances of an experienced server mistaking a 2-digit total for a 3-digit total is highly unlikely. When my mother called the restaurant to speak to the owner, she kept my mother waiting on hold for the longest time. After the owner finally did come to the phone, she was very rude to my mom: didn't say hello or ask how she was. The owner completely dismissed the occurrence, saying that the server who ran the card was one of her best girls & longest employees & that there was no way that could have happened. The way she spoke to my mother, it was like she was trying to make my mother feel like it was her fault, & was making an issue out of nothing. My mom assured her that she had copies of the receipt with the correct total, to which the owner rudely said something like "okay, so what now? You want the $10 back?" completely dismissively. My mother tried to be polite--as this was a "friend" of my sister's & my sister & BIL were still at that point regulars--so she said the next time they came in to dine, they could discount that tab by $10. Obviously, that never happened. When my BIL found that out, he & my sister both decided they would no longer give their business to such a place. None of us have been back since. I do not recommend eating here. You will get mediocre food at an expensive price tag. Plus you will run the risk of dishonest servers over tipping themselves under the protection of an owner who clearly does not care & puts her customers down. If this was the experience of regular customers, I can only imagine how the non-regulars are treated...
