Chilitos is a nice restaurant with pretty good service. The food..... not so much. I have been there multiple times and it has always been pretty good. Not wonderful but pretty good. Last time I went I ordered chicken enchiladas, which I could not even eat. There is something that taste fishy in it. Today I was there for lunch and I ordered taquitos beans and rice. Again there was some fishy taste. I can't explain it and I don't know where it comes from. I think the rice. The lettuce that they use on tacos is a soft dark green lettuce. No crispiness. It's just not very good. I told my mom this is the last time we are going here. I wish I had a better review. The bar seems really nice for the locals and like I said the service is pretty good. Yesterday after shopping we went to Chili's in Tulare , CA . We had a gift card for Chili's and they have a "Three for One" We were not dissappionted. Came in the other night with my Momma for our monthly dinner date and ordered the Carnitas plate. I ended up paying just under 25 that included the tip which for me is a bit pricey. Do not recommend. Service was poor. I had a hair in my food and the server told me, "I'll take it back. I don't see it, but okay". If you zoom into the second picture you'll see the piece of hair. She had an attitude the whole time. When they brought out my food the second time the tortilla was barely cooked and the shrimp looked like it lacked flavor compared to the first plate. I wish it came with a salsa or anything else. They charged me an extra dollar for my camarón taco too (compared to the menu)! I like that they put beans with my chips, even though the salsa was okay. Called prior to driving over there. My inquiry was about whether I would be able to charge my device while I dine in location. My phone was connected to Bluetooth and she could not hear what I said. So I disconnected the Bluetooth and repeated that directly in the phone, she then responded with a very vague attitude and said I guess you can. Then ended the call. If this is the level of professionalism via a simple phone call that says a lot about how much they respect their position and the duties that they are supposed to be held accountable for in order to receive any monetary fixed rate in exchange for the alleged commitment to their "hours of employment". Not sure what all the bad reviews are for. I never had to ask for a refill it was already done. Got greeted when I worked in. Everyone was very nice. Food was amazing. You can't go wrong with Mexican food in the Central Valley. It has always been good or exceptional. This place is solidly good and when you add the pleasant surroundings, it is very good. The menu is large spanning from tacos to oysters on the half shelf and the usual grilled meats in between. They offer breakfast to dinner. However there is no mole and menudo is on weekends only. 5 or 6 Mexican brews are on tap and many more in bottles in the full bar. The music was country and I'm from Tennessee and just visiting so I was vibing the entire time! My daughter on the other hand was very disappointed with her menudo. The meat was too soft almost like it was not even meat. Or meat that it was no the proper one. Maybe overcooked. The burrito was quite large and covered with cheese and filled with delicious shredded beef, rice, and beans. It was really pretty good. I asked for sauce on the side so that I can control the amount. My order also included chips and salsa. The service was friendly. The burrito was freshly made. My husband and I come here often. Their food is so yummy. You have to try their Chile Relleno dinner.

I had family from the Bay Area come and visit. We have not been there so we decided to go eat there. My husband and two sister in laws ordered camarones a la diabla (devil shrimp) for the price they charge you get 12 shrimps in the order. Chilito's only gives you 6 shrimps and 3 tortillas. I was passing through Tulare on my way to Porterville. I wanted someplace close to my hotel and that was opened later than 9pm. Chilito's is the only Mexican restaurant opened to 10pm mid week so it was a good fit. It's a casual little place, open floor plan with tile floor and hard surfaces everywhere. The reason I mention this is because they had a mariachi band playing for a birthday party and it sounded like they had Marshall stacks with the volume pegged at 10. Actually, nothing was amped but all sound carries in this place. I had the combo with a chili relleno and shredded beef taco. Everything was very good. Chilito's was right across the street from my hotel so I walked over. I asked to be seated outside. A nice garden area with plenty of tables. I sat down and immediately noticed an unwholesome smell. I moved to a different table where it was less than noticable. The staff were great! Very helpful and came out repeatedly to ensure that I was well taken care of. They brought me chips and beans and salsa which were very good. I ordered a tamale. It was tasty but the mass was coarse and mealy rather than melt in your mouth.
