It's been a while where I ate at a place and left there going, man that was some amazing food and I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes. This place is some what of an off location and you would have to know it's here. Little small restaurant with friendly staff and nice decor. I wanted to try everything but looking at the price I had to make one choice. Waitress was very helpful with making my decision. I decided to try the Botana Especial, which has shrimp aquachile Rojo, verde, and ceviche. Price was little out of what I like to spend for a lunch but I said what the heck, I'll roll that dice. Waitress came back with the fish and they looked yummy and decorative. She recommended to put some mayo on the tostada and she selected two salsas she likes the best. Well I never put mayo on anything but for some reason I said hell with it, I'll give it a try. First took a spoon full of the aquachile Rojo and just tasted the juice.. Oh my word, I don't know what kind of magic they pulled here but I never tasted such fresh, tasty, refreshing aquachile in my life. I was instantly in love.. So i put on some mayo, shrimp, cucumber, and slice of fresh avacado. Drip some red sauce and in my mouth it went and wow, for this time only I would have to say I like mayo... Combination of everything went so well together. Rojo was my favorite out of the three but shrimp ceviche was also amazing. Verde also had nice flavor and very tasty. Portion were pretty good and I was pretty full by the time I finished the dish. I was tempted to pick up the plate and drink the left over, but my luck I spill it all over my shirt. I really really enjoyed this place, I felt like I was sitting in the beach somewhere in Mexico and someone just made my dish and brought it to me. I can't get over how yummy this place was, I can't wait to try the tower which has some octopus and scallops.... Yummy. Girl told me owner started off with food truck and now open this place and it's been here two years.. Hope it stays busy and open for long long time.

Absolutely love the agua frescas here! My favorite is always the watermelon agua fresca, so fresh with amazing flavor. They're also known for their ceviche; I didn't get it this time, but it's always delicious and high quality. The service is super friendly, greeting us right when we walk in and quick too. From the outside, it looks like a little hole in the wall, but they serve very authentic ceviche. Overall, a great spot with excellent prices! The small agua fresca I got is actually a huge portion for only around six dollars!

Oh my goodness, this place is SO GOOD!! I had the shrimp ceviche, fish tacos and a michealada with dos XX. Everything was served fresh and fast. The staff is responsive and friendly. Great location close to the ASU campus and the freeway. But let me get back to this food! The ceviche was so fresh and the shrimp tender. You can tell right away when the ceviche is premade in the morning and sat there until lunch rush. This stuff tasted like they just made it like right now for me! The fish tacos were so hot and tasty. I even got a bite of shrimp taco when it came out by accident. I regret sending it back. Maria was my server, she was so sweet and attentive. Everyone in this place is doing a great job and the cooks and the food are operating on another level! Do yourself a favor and try this place. 10/10 would definitely recommend! I will be back again and again!

We just landed and were on our way to our hotel but wanted to get a bite to eat first. We decided on mariscos and stopped in here. It's a casual place where you order up front and then sit down while they prepare your order and they bring it by. Honestly? Honestly? We didn't have enough stomach to try what we really wanted to try so we stuck to a shrimp/octopus cocktail, aguachile verde and a fish taco. Hubby had the cocktail and said it was pretty good. I thought the aguachile and the fish taco were also very delicious. The guy who helped us was very helpful and friendly. Nothing to complain about. 10/10 would come here again. Check it out!

Very friendly courteous service. Love the seafood ceviche tower! Octopus was soft and tender like Los Cabos makes it. Do have the mango margarita with tamarind chilli brimmed, ask light ice so you'll get more margarita Yes will definitely come back again!!

Mariscos el Wicho in Tempe is hands down the BEST mariscos spot in Arizona! Service was a 10/10, food 10/10, atmosphere 10/10, and the value for the quality is unbeatable. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delivered with care. I had the Mango Ceviche--perfectly prepared shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy mango sauce, topped with strawberries and oranges for a refreshing, mouthwatering balance. Absolutely unforgettable! He ordered the Botana Especial, featuring butterfly shrimp marinated in both red and green marisco sauces, separated by their signature ceviche in the middle. The flavors blended together beautifully--savory, tangy, and bold. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and I can confidently say they have the best ceviche in Arizona. If you love authentic mariscos, this is a must-visit!

Fresh, Flavorful, and Worth Every Bite! I'm always hesitant to eat seafood in Arizona, but Mariscos El Wicho has completely changed the game for me! This place is everything I look for: super fresh, flavorful, and clean (my #1 priority). I ordered the ceviche de camarón, and it was perfection. One thing I loved is that they didn't mix ketchup into it--instead, they provided packets on the side, letting me enjoy the ceviche just how I like it: savory, tangy, and packed with lime. The vegetables were diced perfectly--no overwhelming chunks--and the balance of shrimp to veggies was spot on. We also tried the aguas frescas, and they were out of this world! I had the watermelon, and my coworker had the pineapple--both were absolutely phenomenal. They were flavor-packed without being overly sweet, hitting all the perfect notes. The portions are generous, the value is great, and the service is excellent. This is hands down some of the best seafood I've had in Arizona. I almost don't want to share how amazing this place is so it doesn't get too busy... just kidding (kind of). Support this spot--they deserve all the love!

So I came here the other night for the first time. I got the Tuesday taco special ( forgot to take a picture) and it was really good! The guy serving was really nice but could smile vs. just looking so serious. The place looked nice but the music was a little loud for me. I ordered tostadas for my mom. I did like the way that served, kinda make your own. I just wish they would close so early.

This place has the best mariscos in Arizona!!! I always get the Botana Especial (red and green aguachiles with shrimp ceviche) and their cheese quesadillas! SO GOOD and always fresh - my go to spot!

Hey everyone, back with another feastora for you. Been on the list for a minute, and for great reason and super glad it was. Definitely one of the better Mariscos places I've been to lately. Check it out. Limoñada Mineral - Super refreshing, super smackalicious, this one's perfect for me cause I'm always mixing juices and sparkling water. Amazing! For real. Try it! Guacamole, Salsa & Chips. Love the Chips, homemade, Guacamole was delicious, Salsa was on point, no complaints at all. Yum! Botana Mixta - Shrimp, Pulpo & Callo soaked in lime juice and house cocido, served with fresh Tomatoes and Cucumbers, Tostadas on the side, yooooo. Must order for me. Tosti-Ceviche - First time for me but absolutely loved it. Super good Ceviche de Camarón on too of a bed of Salsa Verde Tostitos and fresh Avocado on top. Yummmmm Check em out for sure, super clean spot, the staff was super attentive, the food was amazing, the music was on point, all of it. Will be back for sure, it made my list for sure.

I am from LA and every time I travel to PHX for work, I have to stop by El Wicho!! Ceviche de camarón con una agua de sandía hits the spot every time! The service was good because they checked up on me to see if there's anything else I needed!! And they got classic songs playing all day!! I recommend this spot !! 10/10 for me !!

If you're in town and YOU love ceviche, then this is the place for you. On our first visit the hubs and I ordered the Ceviche de Cameron and Pulpo. That experience was absolute YummmOh and decided to go back for more. This time we ordered Botana Especial. Everything they serve here is fresh and deeelicious. Also great service, friendly staff. Service was awesome! Food came out looking fresh and prepared quickly. Menu is easy to read. Ordered the Especial which is a large platter of red aguachile shrimp , shrimp ceviche, and green aguachile shrimp. Great dish to try all three. Also ordered a small mix coktel and it was actually a good size. Then ordered chips/salsa/guacamole. Had some leftovers because serving size is perfect and we got stuffed with the chips! I want to come again and try some other options. read more

We stopped here on the way to southern Arizona from Flagstaff and we were super surprised at how amazing the food, the staff, and the drinks were. The food is fresh, delicious, and has the perfect amount of spice. I got the lemonade to drink and the first sip shocked me because it was so good. Definitely worth the trip. read more

Hidden gem! I ordered a large agua de melon and the Tostitos Ceviche and both were delicious! The water is refreshing and has real melon chunks and the ceviche was very yummy. The service was friendly and kind and I would be back. The restaurant has pictures of the menu which helped me order faster and have an idea of what I was getting. I would definitely go back to check the rest of the menu. Also the price is good and very affordable! Great find! read more

This spot is a great example of not judging a book by it's cover. I stopped by for lunch today not really knowing what to expect from a "fast food" ceviche spot. Walking in looks like your average Mexican fast food joint. It was around 2pm so they weren't real busy. I ordered shrimp ceviche. The staff were friendly and talkative. It only took a few minutes to receive my order. I chatted with the server the whole time while the other server made my order fresh. My order was to go so I took it and left. When I got back to my office and tried it, man I was blown away. I gotta say, next to my wife's ceviche, this is the best I've had. Super fresh, super favorable and huge portions. It was real refreshing and just one of those you can't get enough of good taste. I will definitely be back. read more

This place was so good I couldn't wait to get home and write a review about it! The cashier was very sweet and came by the table a few times to see if I wanted more tostadas for my ceviche. It was so clean in there, I couldn't believe how clean everything was. Most importantly, the food came out very fast and most importantly tasted fresh. The portions were very generous. My dad recommended this place to me because I was complaining about having to make ceviche anytime I wanted it because it's impossible to find good restaurant ceviche anywhere anymore (though my standards are pretty high, because I make a mean ceviche). Anyways, I decided to stop in for some take out and I am SOOO glad I did. The place was very clean and the staff was really friendly. The customers were too! When they overheard me say it was my first time in, they started raving about how good the food was and that they drive across town to get it. They also gave a few recommendations. Everything was extremely fairly priced and let me tell you ... the portions are generous which is 1000% appreciated by this foodie. They for sure use quality, fresh ingredients. If your looking for legit mariscos y con sabor then this place is for you! Although the place may look small it packs a lot of flavor from their Tosticeviche, Coctel de camarón y La Torre - so delicious! And let's not forget their aguas frescas: Piña (with chamoy rim dip), Jamaica, horchata, sandía, y Melon were amazing. How they got so much fresh fruit flavor in them in impressive. The associates there treat the plates of food how they want to enjoy it so that means it's crazy good. Honestly it's hard to find a great place like this in Arizona so we are going to be back to try more because mariscos never goes out of style y el antojo está cabron. So I fully recommend this place - it's better than Culichi Town; I said what I said! read more

Coming from cali standards, this place reminds me of good spots in California and better than most out there. Flavor on point an service was good. Recommend for people who like Mariscos looking to get that hangover fixed. Do want to say I did go when it wasn't busy so I couldn't say how it will be packed. read more

Service was great as soon as we opened the door we were greeted. I had the ceviche it was very fresh and so good (best I have tried). My husband got the botana especial it was as good as the ceviche.Everything is priced reasonable. Place is small but very well kept. We will definitely be back. read more

Found this gem while playing in a baseball tournament at Tempe Diablo Stadium. I'm from Los Angeles where there's tons of Marisco restaurants and I must say this place is just as good if not better. Had the ceviche de camaron tropical, fish ceviche and campechana. They all hit it out the park. I will definitely be back next year. Awesome customer service!! The way all restaurants should be. They gave me a complimentary watermelon drink..truly delicious! These guys know Mariscos..very fresh..definitely recommend this place read more

I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

I got the frozen margarita and it was a bit sweet, but nice for the summer evening. Our server wasn't super attentive, but was nice whenever they came around. There's a sampler entree platter I'd like to try, but of all the appetizers we tried, the best was probably the chips with guacamole and salsa.
