The hostess was super sweet and accommodating, and shortly after we sat, we were greeted by the owner. Above and beyond! He thanked us for coming and left us to our meal. We had: -Raw oysters: a mixed bunch of deliciousness! -Shrimp scampi: packed with shrimp! So much so that I couldn't finish the dish and had to take the rest home. Very tasty, and has a creole flare to it that sets it apart from your typical scampi dish. -Dessert: faced with the choice of vanilla OR chocolate crème brûlée, we dared to be different and it was a fabulous choice. The mint with the chocolate was a marvelous touch. -Drinks: I had a French 75 and my mom had a different 75 that I'm blanking on the name of. Both were fantastic! The bartenders were both awesome and they truly take pride in their creations. The owner came back around to check on us, and while we ate, we had noticed him giving what looked like tours to other patrons. While I understand that large parties can put additional pressure on a kitchen, that really shouldn't come at the expense of other customers who were seated and ordered before or around the same time. If the restaurant isn't able to accommodate a large party while maintaining reasonable service for other guests, there should be better planning and communication. What made it even more frustrating was watching other tables around us receive their food before we did. When I questioned the delay, the response was essentially that "some food takes longer than others." I understand that certain dishes may take more time to prepare, but waiting over an hour without any proactive communication or explanation was disappointing. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, the experience left a poor impression. I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant and give it a fair chance, but based on the service we received, I highly doubt we'll be returning.
