Came in on a Sunday, it was very packed. We were greeted by live music and seated by staff quickly. Everyone was happy with their meal, and service. Will return again!

Amazing! Love this place. They take their time to make your food and the seafood is delicious. Love the ceviche they serve in the beginning. So happy when we are able to stop in and make it to this little hidden gem.

Food is good. I love how you get a small plate of ceviche with chips while you decide what to order. The meals are a little pricy but fish is not cheap. Everything is very yummy!

    Fish Tacos!! Best EVER!!

Love this restaurant!! The staff is very friendly as well as attentive. Ceviche shrimp or fish is outstanding and fish tacos are hands down the best I have ever had!!!

I would give them 4.5 stars if i could. The food was overall very good. The mojarra frita was exceptionally good, well seasoned and cooked just right. The coctel de cameron and tostada de ceviche de cameron were solid too. Service was attentive and prompt. My horchata was way too sweet, a bit disappointing. Best part: they serve you fresh chips and a sample of ceviche upon your arrival. Coming from LA I have high standards with mariscos but this is very good for Oregon. I would say they are comparable to Mariscos Las Islas Marias in Salem.

    Camarones al Veneno. Heavenly!!!

Ice water at the utensil stand. Service was so friendly. There were meats we were unfamiliar with, so the counter staff offered us a small sample. Barbacoa is now my jam! We ordered 4 meals: Chile relleno, tamale special, torta, & enchilada special. The specials are well-priced at under $12. We stopped in about 45 minutes before closing and staff did not rush us out. Nothing fancy ambiance-wise and this place looks similar to other Mex places on Front St. So make sure you're in Luis'!

No business embodies the vibrant Mexican community of Woodburn more so than Luis's Taqueria…read more Located along the strip of businesses on Front Street, this family owned business have been a perennial destination for Michoacan-style Mexican fare for over 3 decades. The first thing folks will notice is the colorful decor of paper piñatas across the ceiling and the spacious digs with lots of 4 top tables for some limited group action. Orders are placed at the counter and the menu is vast enough where there is something to offer for everyone. Some immediate recommendations would be their tamales platter, along with their enchiladas rojas, and their Americanized tacos dorados. Their burritos are especially large and a complete gut bomb for anyone looking for a major filler. Their ceviche tostadas are beautiful, along with their layered tortas, and hearty chimichangas. While I don't love their corn tortillas or the tacos, I would be down to give them another shot. Cabeza and carne asada especially. The prices have crept up over the years, to where many items have hit the sub $10+ range and even tacos are at $3.50 a pop. There is a price to pay for fame, but the only time it should be dinged is if the price no longer matches the quality. Ultimately, this will always be one of the city's most popular lunch destinations and local haunts. It's so well known that Obama has been here (#1) and continues to bring in new faces every week. This is a must visit for any Mexican food lover and especially for first timers in Woodburn. ____________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/luiss-taqueria-woodburn?select=iYjRIeJrLS47keUaG0_vVQ

Finally stopped and so should you- the tamales are wonderful, large and cheap. If the stand is open, we stop. Neither my partner or I are timid eaters but one of these babies makes a perfectly nice lunch. Our choices today were two pork and a couple of chicken mole. That's lunch for two days for 12 bucks. So, if you are in the neighborhood you should check it out. Big step up from more commercial offerings- very fresh and have that from the kitchen directly to your plate.

Their menu is limited focusing on the tamales, but they have a couple of other items on it as well Super friendly and helpful in explaining what types of tamales they have which can be ordered individually or by the half/full dozen (get a dozen, you'll thank me later!). We got a dozen mix of the chicken with mole, pork with green sauce and the jalapeño/cheese. The freshly hot tamales are thoughtfully separated and labeled by type and they offer small to-go tubs of green and red hot sauces as well. The tamales are amazingly delicious and full of flavor, we loved every one of them! A little bit of the hot sauces go a long way but add a nice kick! A cautionary note that these tamales are on the hot (spicy) side so you might be wary if you don't tolerate spicier foods. Cash only and limited hours, see pictures for hours or call ahead. All in all one of our best tamale experiences!

The interior is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were seated in a booth and promptly welcomed with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were warm, and the beans served alongside them were as well. Shortly after being seated, our server greeted us and informed us of the Friday evening drink specials. To start, we ordered a couple of house margaritas and the grilled octopus, both of which were excellent. The menu offers a wide variety of options, so we asked for a recommendation. Our server suggested the Molcajete Mexicano, which turned out to be a standout dish--rich in flavor and generously portioned (photo attached for reference). Overall, the pricing was reasonable for dining out, and the service was attentive and efficient. We arrived with modest expectations but were thoroughly impressed by both the food and the service. We look forward to returning to try more items on the menu.
