My Elite crew and I recently decided to check out Marisol near the Adam's Farm area of Greensboro. This restaurant has been around since the 90s, so it must be doing something right and we wanted to check it out for ourselves. With it being everyone's first time there the waiter was quite attentive and described the entire menu to us in great detail.  For drinks my best friend and I ordered a bottle of wine to split. We were struggling to decide until our waiter swayed us with the Vouvray. Although it was slightly sweet, it didn't bother us and complimented the meal well. The chef surprised us with an amuse-bouche that was a yummy little goat cheese bruschetta. Then I was delighted to see our waiter approach us with a plentiful basket of bread. I opted for the focaccia, and it was incredible. The texture was so soft and spongy with a slight sweetness. I could have eaten so many slices, but we decided to share some apps instead. For appetizers we ordered the flash fried buttermilk shrimp, house made gravlax, Marisol's tomato pie, house made cavatelli, and a duck special not listed on the menu. My favorites were the cavatelli and the tomato pie. Although the house made cavatelli was in a lobster stock cream sauce, it was still surprisingly light. I loved the richness and depth of the tomato pie. The gravlax reminded me of a deconstructed lox bagel except with crackers instead of bread. We each got salads next. I opted to split the caesar with fried oysters with my bestie. The oysters were cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the added crunch of the toasted pine nuts and the slight spiciness from the cayenne pepper croutons and horseradish caesar dressing. For my entree I ordered the pan seared & roasted dotted rose snapper. I've gotta say this is where the experience began to fall apart a little bit for me. I was not super impressed by the snapper. Although a delicious-sounding caper parsley lemon vinaigrette is listed with it on the menu, it was almost like they forgot to put it on the place. This led the fish to be dry, tough and overcooked. I will say the accompanying scallop was delicious, soft, and very well done. It's disappointing when your main dish falls flat. We decided to end the evening by sharing the vanilla bean creme brulee and the bread pudding du jour. The creme brulee was the clear winner. It was beautifully caramelized on the top and creamy on the inside. The bread pudding, however, was pretty dry. I find that impressive considering it was covered in ice cream and dark chocolate sauce. The ice cream was tasty but the bread pudding itself was just layers of dryness with nothing creating cohesion or holding it together. Overall, we enjoyed our first experience at Marisol. I will order some different things next time for sure.

Service 5/5 Overall food (taste & price) 3/5 Atmosphere 3.5/5 Drinks 4/5 (they have a heavy hand lol) Marisol's is definitely a fine dining experience. I read online how great this place was so I had to check it out myself! However, the atmosphere is catered more towards an older, retired crowd. Personally, the food was overpriced as every meal had something lacking and wasn't memorable. The drink was good but for $18 I expected better quality liquor. Would I return? Probably not. Appetizers: * Flash Fried Buttermilk Shrimp w/spicy sweet chili sauce * House Made Za'atar Pork Sausage w/collard greens & Carolina gold rice gratin (on the menu for 24 years!) Entree: * Twice Roasted Crispy Duck w/raspberry red wine gastrique * Scottish Salmon Wellington w/pesto white wine lobster stock cream Drink: * classic cosmo

When we want to go have a nice date night, Marisol and heir incredible staff pop right into our heads! Start off with an Amuse Bouche followed by an excellent bread basket. Last time we had the Lamb Chops and they did not disappoint! Fancy and Fine food and libations!

It's a small spot and most definitely off the beaten path, tucked back in the industrial park, behind an office building. If you didn't know it was there, you'd never find it. That being said, I've dined here several times, trying various sandwiches, and it's alway good, quality, "homemade" food. The empolyees are always freidnly and eager to help. On this visit I got the chicken Philly, which was good, and came with perfectly cooked fries. They've got a good variety of food, including breakfast items, which I've never tried, but am told they serve all day. May have to their breakfast next time. If you like to serve local, give Mikhael's a try, they're a small one off mom and pop shop, and you won't leave disappointed.

My order was correct, hot, and delicious. The service was kind and friendly. I got the quesadilla with elote, and my husband got the Mikhael's Philly sandwich with fries- it was only $10 per person! The entrance is accessible with a ramp. This place is definitely a hidden gem in High Point. Go check it out!

Dodging a huge rainstorm we decided to sit at the bar and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We sampled a beer or two before deciding on a couple suds and the poutine appetizer while we decided on the main event. The place was fairly busy and they do have a decent outdoor patio also. It's a chill, hole in the wall, neighborhood watering hole type of place. We chatted with a few locals and my wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere. They had some great beers on tap including several from Foothills brewery and also full liquor bar to send a few rounds for any occasion. I settled on the Mad Haddock (I know who orders the fish at a burger place) and my lady had French onion burger. The deep fried asparagus was a playful side that was memorable. We both really enjoyed the choices. The fries could've been more crisp but overall they were passable. The haddock sandwich was incredible and that tartar sauce was incredible. The sandwich was one of those that you don't put down after a few bites. I enjoyed the food, friendly service and conversation with locals. They recommended a bottle shop connected to a laundromat not far away but we had to get back on the road. If you are in the Greensboro area Hops Buworth a stop for happy hour, lunch or dinner.

It's a great little restaurant with a fun atmosphere and great music. We started with the Fried Goat Cheese Balls and the Fried Cauliflower, and both were excellent. The goat cheese balls were crispy on the outside and creamy inside, while the cauliflower was perfectly fried and packed with flavor. I ordered the Jalapeño Popper Burger special, and it was phenomenal. Juicy, cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of heat and all the flavors you'd expect from a great jalapeño popper. Easily one of the better specialty burgers I've had. They also have a great beer and wine selection, which made it easy to find the perfect pairing with our meal. If you're traveling and looking for something far better than the usual fast food off the interstate, Hops Burger Bar is absolutely worth the quick detour. Great food, great service, and a place we'll make a point to stop at again the next time we're passing through.

Just like dining in, they don't skimp. They pack the sandwich and the to go box full, it was more than enough for a filling and healthy lunch. I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria's loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn't strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items - a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap - held appeal. I ultimately went with the day's special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy - and new - the bistro was, I'm inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.
