Our food came out quickly and wife's ribeye steak was cooked perfectly and her sides were good as well. My ribs came out fully sauced and I asked for the sauce on the side and when my ribs were replaced I found out why. No seasoning on the oven baked ribs. Menu says cooked low and slow and finished on the grill. The sauce is tangy and sweet but the ribs are overcooked so they can't be cut apart and they quickly became pulled pork. The onion rings and side salad were good and the ranch dressing appears to be made in house. I'd look elsewhere for ribs unless you like them messy and need a fork to eat them but the steak is done well! read more

We ordered for dinner: Ribs, Cajun shrimp, lasagna and Cajun prime rib matched with loaded potatoes, white cheddar Mac n cheese and steamed broccoli. Everything was delicious! We got 2 orders of the cappuccino chocolate cake that were divine! We all had to go boxes, so the deliciousness will continue. Carley provided excellent service! Also, I love the reservation process through Yelp. They really let you drill down on what you'll need. They ask for the usual info but then ask if there will be a need for kid's menus, booster seats, upstairs or downstairs preferences, what's the occasion and if it will be one check or split? I'd been traveling all day and was really looking forward to getting home, eating, and relaxing. I ordered pimento cheese (which is normally excellent), a salad with salmon, and potato skins for pickup on my way home. When I got home and opened everything up, there were no crackers for the pimento cheese -- just tortilla chips, which isn't a combination that works at all. No one mentioned this substitution when I placed or picked up the order. There was also no dressing for the salad, and no dip for the potato skins. Between the three items, I basically had nothing I could actually eat as intended. When I called, they only offered to refund the $6.99 pimento cheese on an order that was over $50. When I explained that meant I still had no usable food, I got transferred, and the next person told me that because i ordered through DoorDash -- except I didn't order through DoorDash, I ordered directly through their website. They then said there was nothing they could do! I love their pimento cheese. But missing basic components on every item, and then being told a partial refund on a $6.99 item was the fix for a $50+ order that was largely inedible, was frustrating. The lack of accountability on the phone made it worse. I won't be ordering from this location again. read more

Good, but not up to previous wonderful experiences. I LOVE their baby back ribs because they are always tender with great flavor. For my birthday, we ordered baby back ribs (I usually order some sauce on the side because I like my ribs to be saucy-my bad) with the French fries and beans, stuffed mushrooms, cajun chicken pasta and a side caesar salad to go. Pick up experience was not great. We parked in the to go parking only spot and waited-I don't know how long but the sign said to wait and that they would bring it out to us. Eventually an employee came out the door and turned back inside and told them that they had a customer in parking lot. (I'm thinking food is probably getting old.) The female employee did something sweet for my birthday. Yay! Once home, food Was cold. We had to nuke and bake in order to eat. Fries obviously were cold and chewy and baking them didn't improve anything. I wouldn't have ordered fries, but they only offer fries and baked beans as sides with an option to swap a side salad for one or soup for additional $. Pasta was great after nuking it. My favorite stuffed mushrooms were soggy and stuffing spilling out of them. I tried to crisp them up again in oven and it was just awful. So I have had so many awesome experiences ordering in the restaurant, picking up and being delivered. It's just a shame that this was my birthday celebratory dinner this year. We love coming to Darryl's whenever we're in town. The decor is so comfortable, the staff is excellent, and the food is fantastic. Our server, Jan, took great care of us today! We were treating a friend to an early birthday dinner and she chose the same meal as me, but different sides. We both got the pork chops, she had mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, and I chose baked beans and slaw. The pork chops were to die for!! We both had them add bbq sauce while cooking and some on the side. The pork was as tender as a perfectly cooked steak and the flavor was wonderful. I look forward to the leftovers I brought home. My spouse got a full rack of baby back ribs so she'd have leftovers too with baked beans and mac n cheese. She's never had their mac n cheese before and commented how good it was. The ribs and beans were excellent as to be expected. I know if there was a location in the Triangle we'd be regulars, but it really isn't too far for an occasional visit when we get a craving! read more

It's been many years since I've come here, but I've been seeing it was growing in popularity again, which I love to see because Greensboro definitely can't stand to lose another establishment! They also don't skimp you on the sides of sauce, which I appreciate as a sauce queen! Our waitress, Ashley, was the best! She was super attentive and never made us feel like a bother even though I felt bad because I know she had to go up and down the stairs a lot. What Came out was ...a burger with cheese and sauce.. When I asked the waitress about the sauce.. She had no idea what was in it.. she said there was no dairy in it. It definitely looked like it had dairy in it. Had to ask another waiter and he said it contained ranch.. Second burger came out and it came out wrong again... 1.5 hours later, the food came out again.. And they only came back after messing up the order 3x offering a 25% discount.. Meanwhile.. My entire party already finished their meals before my food even came out.. This was the most disappointing and one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had and would not recommend this place to anyone read more

I ate here with my family while we were in town, and based on all the positive reviews, I thought it would be a good experience. Sadly, however, the service was slooooooow. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away on a lovely patio. We then proceeded to wait 15 minutes before anyone came by to take our drink order. We were there for 45 minutes before we got our appetizer which came out just before our entrees. The food was good. My husband got the ribs and liked them. I got a chicken ceaser salad which was fine except the dressing came on the side. In my experience ceaser salads usually come dressed. I tried the house pimento (definitely has a kick!) with the house crackers (dry, no personality). I took the beef ribs to go and was impressed with how tender they were. They practically shredded in my fingers when I pinched the meat off the bone. The bbq sauce was on the tangy side, not bad though I prefer mine to be a tad sweeter. Cash helped me and was attentive and efficient. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and when it arrived a lot of the Au jus was spilled all over the plate. The sandwich was lacking in flavor, it needed to horseradish and Au jus to taste okay. This is a unique place with thematic settings in different areas. I went in and decided to eat on the patio, it was nice out. I decided to try some unique menu items, so I had their homemade crackers and pimento cheese. The crackers were in fact, a great big homemade thing that was somewhere between matzo and water cracker. It comes out all broken up on a plate and it's very good. The pimento cheese, was a spicy variety served cold, I think that's the way Permento and she should be served. It was delightful. The main dish was a half a rack of pork ribs. I had mine with a creamy coleslaw and a mac & cheese. Both the sides were delightful very good flavor. Nothing over the top nothing substandard, just good homemade sides. The ribs were amazing, they fell off the bone. They were served with a sweet barbecue sauce, but completely would've been fine without it. There was no meat left on the bone when I left because I ate it all. I would recommend this restaurant and I think next time I'm going to eat inside in one of the themed booths. It would be a good date night restaurant or even a special occasion kind of date. It's not fancy it's not pretentious, it's just fun. It is almost as if Darrell's is a national chain that does everything right, and we just haven't heard of it. I mean, there are elements of Applebee's from 40 years ago in there. There's sort of elements of TGI Fridays from 35 or 40 years ago there's even a little bit of Bennigan's thrown in. I hadn't been to Darryl's in several years and given the good reviews on Yelp I was looking forward to going. I was with party of 8 and the first mishap occurred with us having to wait for nearly 45 min to be seated due to a miscommunication about reservations, even though an attempt had been made earlier in the week. Sadly, the only highlight of the evening was our server. She was outstanding--friendly and attentive, despite the restaurant being super busy. As for the food, I ordered the Texas Roadrunner Chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The meal arrived lukewarm, which I tolerated considering how long it had already taken to be seated, place our order, and finally receive the food Did I expect a five-star dining experience? I cannot believe I have lived near Darryl's for over eight years and this is the first time I have been there. I have been missing out for certain. We went to Darryl's during the ACC championship at the First Horizon Coliseum, which meant they were slammed with people after the basketball game. The wait time was 45 minutes to an hour when we arrived, but once we were seated, our waitress acted as if we were the only ones there because she was still highly attentive. The food was hot and delicious. The tater skins are the best I've had anywhere. Perfectly crispy, with just enough potato left behind. And the toppings are plentiful and adhere to the potato. We all got ribs to eat, and both my littles needed to go to the bathroom to wash up after because they were covered in sauce from devouring them. The inside of the restaurant is so neat! Each area is subdivided into a theme. There's a cinema theme, a jail theme, and a circus theme, just to name a few. Even though there are bathrooms on the lower level, my littles needed to go examine the jail bathroom on the second level with its stainless steel toilet. We toured the restaurant while we waited for our food and definitely found some additional areas we want to eat at when we return to the restaurant. They are definitely good for groups and parties, as the cinema room has an overhead projector and screen. Or you can come here for a date night. We were extremely disappointed with the service we received today. Our server, Karlie, was friendly, however her serving skills left much to be desired. My significant other is a diabetic, and ordered unsweetened tea. He uses artificial sweeteners and added these to the tea before tasting it. He was served sweet tea, but we were unaware of this until she came around much later to refill his glass with sweet tea. We ordered an appetizer of potato skins and waited, and waited, and waited. She came back to the table and took our dinner order, in which I ordered no tomato on my burger. We continued to wait for our appetizer to arrive as she chatted by the bar. Eventually a nice young man delivered our food to our table...the potato skins had still not arrived. After waiting several minutes for her to turn around or come to ask if we needed anything, my significant other walked to the bar where she was and asked about the appetizer. She came back to our table after a brief visit to the kitchen and apologized and said the screen was messed up in the kitchen, and the potato skins would be out shortly. She asked if my fiancé would like more "sweet tea". I again informed her that he was a diabetic and he needed unsweetened tea. Her response was "Oh, I brought you sweet tea". She brought a glass of unsweetened tea and proceeded to top off his glass of sweet tea with unsweetened tea. I asked her to bring a fresh glass of unsweetened tea, which she then did, and apologized. It was at this time I realized there was tomato on my burger, which I specifically asked to be omitted and she repeated back to me upon ordering. It was at this point that I made the manager aware of the situation, so she could address the poor service. She stood bar side chatting with other employees more than she served any patrons. She served a diabetic sweet tea, more than likely failed to put in the appetizer order, didn't put in the instructions for my sandwich, instead of replacing the glass of sweet tea with an unsweetened one, tried to add unsweetened tea to a glass of sweet tea. I spoke with the manager and expressed all of our concerns. She was apologetic and very understanding. We chose to leave and eat elsewhere rather than wait for a full do-over on our meal. The positives about our visit, the staff seemed to be upbeat, the food was cooked perfectly to temp and delivered to our table promptly by someone from the kitchen, and the manager was understanding to the situation. Ramon was a whole vibe. He was knowledgeable about the events held just a few blocks away at the coliseum.
