Fried chicken. So juicy and tender.

A nice surprise. Ambiance was very nice. Food was even better! Fried chicken and Short rib were fantastic!

Update: tried to give it a chance for breakfast. Was seated, one of three tables, and after 15 minutes of not be acknowledged, I left. All the while, I sat and watched/listened to the 3 servers gossiping and loudly complaining about other staff. I asked to order to which one responded "we will be with you soon" then went back to the gossiping. I finally got up and left. Service was the only thing warranting stars and given this experience I wish I could give it no stars. I would highly recommend reading the other reviews and believing everything they say. This place clearly has issues and management does not care. I guess when it's the only option inside a convention center, you can be terrible and still make money. ------ Staying in the hotel while in town for business so figured I would grab food at the restaurant. It appears nice as you are walking in but the food was a huge disappointment. I ordered the burger, expecting it to be at least somewhat ok given the setting. It looked appetizing and was a generous sized burger. I quickly realized I was sorely mistaken after I took a bite. It was extremely dry/rubbery/clumpy and you would have a hard time convincing me that it wasn't just cheap frozen patties. It tasted like something from a school cafeteria with the quality of the meat. The sweet potato fries and the service are the only thing that warrants the 2 stars. I don't know if it's just the burger that was this bad but I don't think I will risk it for future meals here when I stay.

Great food, kind and accommodating service/servers, and a very nice feel to the area. Nice and quiet to get away from loud convention!

I don't leave many reviews but after multiple top tier meals which are fresh, full of flavor, and worth praising I decided to leave one. We really enjoy the variety and find it all fairly priced. An order of brussels easily feeds four but they've got it as a side; as well as mac n cheese and garlic/ parm broccoli and we really liked them all. You won't be disappointed.

From the moment we walked in the decor and overall vibe felt like stepping back in time in a good way. You can tell a lot of thought went into the place without it feeling overdone. Service was top tier. Alejandra took care of us and knew the menu inside and out without sounding scripted or fake attentive like some places do. I got the salmon and yeah... ridiculous. The gravy alone could've been its own menu item. I was two seconds away from licking the plate. Only complaint is I wish the portions were a little bigger because the food was that good.

I ordered a french 75 and it was missing the simple syrup. We started with the tuna appetizer and truffle fries. Some of the best truffle fries in the triad. For my main I ordered the avocado bacon toast. I loved it! They use a thick piece of texas toast and poached eggs with a side of greek yogurt, berries and honey. Yum! My husband got the duck burger and loved it! It came with a creamy side of mashed potatoes. We will be back as this has always been a great place to eat in GSO!

Dodging a huge rainstorm we decided to sit at the bar and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We sampled a beer or two before deciding on a couple suds and the poutine appetizer while we decided on the main event. The place was fairly busy and they do have a decent outdoor patio also. It's a chill, hole in the wall, neighborhood watering hole type of place. We chatted with a few locals and my wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere. They had some great beers on tap including several from Foothills brewery and also full liquor bar to send a few rounds for any occasion. I settled on the Mad Haddock (I know who orders the fish at a burger place) and my lady had French onion burger. The deep fried asparagus was a playful side that was memorable. We both really enjoyed the choices. The fries could've been more crisp but overall they were passable. The haddock sandwich was incredible and that tartar sauce was incredible. The sandwich was one of those that you don't put down after a few bites. I enjoyed the food, friendly service and conversation with locals. They recommended a bottle shop connected to a laundromat not far away but we had to get back on the road. If you are in the Greensboro area Hops is worth a stop for happy hour, lunch or dinner.

It's a great little restaurant with a fun atmosphere and great music. We started with the Fried Goat Cheese Balls and the Fried Cauliflower, and both were excellent. The goat cheese balls were crispy on the outside and creamy inside, while the cauliflower was perfectly fried and packed with flavor. I ordered the Jalapeño Popper Burger special, and it was phenomenal. Juicy, cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of heat and all the flavors you'd expect from a great jalapeño popper. Easily one of the better specialty burgers I've had. They also have a great beer and wine selection, which made it easy to find the perfect pairing with our meal. If you're traveling and looking for something far better than the usual fast food off the interstate, Hops Burger Bar is absolutely worth the quick detour. Great food, great service, and a place we'll make a point to stop at again the next time we're passing through.

Although when we did hear her explanations they were extremely superficial and seemed like she just picked random wines she liked. The other sommelier clearly put a lot of thought into the flavors of the wine and the meal. I don't recommend coming here hungry. The dishes are very small, but they were all pretty good. The menu reflects this with cocktails, wine and beer and the menu is extensive on the beverages! The food menu is terrific and has so much variety and some really nice plates small and large. It was a theater night when we went and we had a 7.30 show to goto and our server knew that. We got there at 5.30 so figured that gave us the 10 mins to walk to the theater to be on time. We started off with some drinks. My friend loved her cherry ale and I really enjoyed my G&T , the glass it came in was just so unusual. The G&T took awhile to finally make it to me but i loved it. We ordered the tuna tartare and that was delicious and served up with fried green tomatoes which was a different take on it. Nice and fresh and nicely presented. Our entrees were the salmon for my friend and I had the Bahn mi chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Usually this sandwich is with pork so I wanted to try this. The service for our dinner took almost 45 mins we had finished the app awhile back and my grind had another drink and still we were waiting. It was closing in on 6.50 Pm and at this point we would be inhaling our food when it came and rushing out the door . It came at 7pm and the sandwich was good but they should mention on the menu that it has mayonnaise on it as I don't like that but there was quite a bit on the bun. Not typically in this type of sandwich so I wasn't expecting it. The chicken was a good and flavorful and lots of other veggie fillings and the fries were great. My friend really enjoyed her salmon and the risotto it came with. Just disappointed we had to eat it all so quickly and leave some so we could pay and leave. We had our eye on the lemon posset tart for dessert but we didn't have time . We just thought since the server knew we had theater tickets she would have been more on top of it. Yes they were busy as it was a show night but the place wasn't totally full. Seemed like no urgency when we asked how long the food would be as we had to leave soon. I'd maybe try this place again on a non show night, as I thought they had a great menu. I enjoyed the place just not the service as we barely made the show before the lights went down.
